HSRP Question 2 core 6513 connected with trunk gig port

i have problem and wish to help me , i have 2 core 6513 connected with trunk gig port .
suddenly the HSRP changed from standby to active on the standby switch and cause the network to freeze from about 30sec .
after while the HSRP revert back to it's original status , i have check the log and didn't able to define the root cause for the problem .
Attached the log for both of them , and i can share the show-tech if needed .

Post your HSRP configs for each vlan interface to see. Are you tracking any interfaces for any Standby groups? Could you have lost connection temporarily between the switches? Check the interface statistics for the link between the switches.

  • Establish a connection with the serial port on ST2510

    Hello guys,
I have one question about connection on ST2510 with the serial port.
Is it possible to get the following command prompt during connection on ST2510 through serial port (as described in the document 820-0015-11):
    "Enter password to access shell:"
    instead of
"Enter password to access Service Interface (60 sec timeout):"
    ?

I ask about it, because one guy said me, that he tried to establish a connection according to the document 820-0015-11.
But instead of "Enter password to access Service Interface (60 sec timeout):" he has got "Enter password to access shell:" and the default password kra16wen is incorrect.I won't indicate how to get "Enter password to access shell" because this is a special access as indicated in my previous post. However in order to get "Enter password to access Service Interface (60 sec timeout):" you need to press "S" (capital S) within 5 sec and then the password is "kra16wen".

  • Windows 7 license question product key in connection with other computer

I bought a new Toshiba laptop from pc world with windows 7 home premiums64bit pre-installed onto it.
I have just bought a new pc tower that is without an operating system.
I would like to know if I can install windows 7 onto the new pc and then use the product key on the underside of my laptop as I believe the key can be used on up to three separate computers.
I also would like to know how to obtain a copy of the disc with which to do the install as one was not provided with the laptop.
Thanks in advance for any assistance

    > I also would like to know how to obtain a copy of the disc with which to do the install as one was not provided with the laptop.
Usually you should be able to create such recovery disk using the Toshiba Recovery Media Creator tool which is always preinstalled on Toshiba notebook.
But in case you modified the HDD or formatted the HDD, you would not be able create such disk.
In case you purchased the Toshiba European notebook series, the recovery disk could be ordered here: http://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx
    > I would like to know if I can install windows 7 onto the new pc and then use the product key on the underside of my laptop
No since this key belongs to the OEM Windows version bundled with the notebook.

  • Terminal: Stored Remote Connection with non-standard Port?

    Hi,
I am new to MacOS and I am amazed by the integrated terminal. However, I sometimes need to connect to servers which use a non-standard SSH port, for example, 2020. I know that I can manually connect, but for convinience, I'd like to have a saved remote connection including the non-standard port. Is this possible somehow?
    Thanks,
    Felicitus

I did some experimentation, using Terminal.
    Terminal -> New Remote Connection -> Service -> [+]
now enter your own new service which includes
    /usr/bin/ssh -p 50022
I found I had to enter a bonjour entry to get it to accept my new service, but once I did, I was able to use that new service with the custom -p 50022 port value.
Your mileage may vary. I still prefer iTerm.
Oh yea. In the future, Terminal and Unix oriented questions are better asked in the Mac OS X Technologies > Unix Forum

  • HT1218 Why my Mac Book with OsX 10.9.2 connected with my Air Port Extreme A 1408 , but Airport Utilities cannot confute my Airport Extreme. Although can connect internet?

I had Airport Utilities in my Mac Book 2009 with OsX 10.9.2 , I can online with My Airport Extreme A 1408 via Wifi. But Airport Utilities cannot configure Airport Base Station. And I don't see the update . I used my Ipad Air to update  newest firmware my Airport Extreme . It's done. From Ipad I can see the informations as following :  IP Adress , Lan IP Adress 10.0.1.1 , version 7.6.4.....,...Model Airport Extreme 802.11n (5th Generation) ....in full details. But not in my Mac Book. Please Help. Thanks.

I had this problem a couple of days ago. Near as I can figure, the drive drops off line periodically. Many people are having this issue. On your Mac, go to finder and see if the MyCloud shows up. Mine didn't last time I had a problem. I ended up unplugging the drive, letting it sit for a couple of minutes, and then plugged it back in. I also disconnected the ethernet cable(not sure if this was necessary). After a few minutes, it showed up in finder. I use Time Machine and Time Machine editor to perform backups daily. I know it's dropped off line if my Mac hasn't backed up in the last couple of days. If it's currently online, and was just unavailable when the Time Machine attempted a backup, I just let it go.
I have the Airport Extreme base station as well. I have been unsuccessful in port frowarding with this thing. I always have a Relay Connection on the Settings-General-Cloud access portion of the My Cloud dashboard. It seems to work fine, and overcoming this issue has dropped to the bottom of my To Do list. As long as Remote Access is on, and it shows connected(Relay or otherwise), you should be good to go. It evidently isn't optimal, but then again neither are my technical abilities.
Hope this helps. I am an average user with average(at best) computer abilities. This is just my average experience. P.S. Moving the drive while it's operating is bad...Mmmkay!

  • Does it look like iOS 7 upgrade caused original iPhone cords to lose connectivity with car USB port?  Mine broke.

Really frustrating experience given how much we rely on our phones.

If I plug it into a wall outlet, the phone complaints about "Incompatible accessory", but begins charging.  The problem is clearly at the software level, as the charge rate is noticeably slower.

  • Imac 2.16 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo with 2 GBs enough?

Before I drop 5 bills of Logic 8, what kind of performance am I looking at with a Imac 2.16 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo with 2 gigs?

Your machine is a whole bunch faster than the G5's most of us use, and 2 gigs should be fine. The only way you'll get a benefit from more than 2 gigs of ram is if you use other programs alongside Logic, or if you use lots of large EXS samples. Additional ram beyond 2 gig will not get you greater track count, more Space Designers (or any other plugins besides EXS) or lower latency. It will not get more instances or sample sizes for third party plugs used as AU within Logic. If you run third party plugs as rewire or standalone - separate from Logic - they will benefit from additional ram.
I'm doing very well with a G5; additional drives and pci interface help alot. You should do even better with an Imac, although I don't know if it has a PCI slot.

  • BT HH 4 - GigE port - connection to switch

Anyone know how I can connect the GigE port to a switch at 1Gbps?
I connect the HH4 GigE port to my computer and it does so at 1Gbps (according to Windows XP)
I connect my computer to a netgear GS608 and it does so at 1Gbps (according to Netgear status lights and Windows XP)
I connect the HH4 GigE port to the GS608 and it does so at 100Mbps!! (according to the status lights on the GS608)
    Cat 5 cable used - BT Home Hub 4 (Type A) | Software version 4.7.5.1.83.8.130.1.10 | Last updated 20/08/13

    correct about cable.
Cat5 is not suited for Gig speeds.
Cat5E can cope but again would be the weak link if the hardware can utilize the speeds.
Your switch maybe picking up the inablilitly of the Cat5 cable to produce the right speeds and is auto switching down to maxamize stability. Borrow or buy a Cat6 cable and try that out
If I've helped, just click the Star - Every little bit helps
If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem.

  • How to extend VLAN in 3rd and 4th 6513 switch with HSRP

Hi presently in One Data centre 02 Nos. of 6513 is configured in HSRP. Due to space constraint some servers need to be installed in other room and there 02 Nos of 6509 switches need to be configured in HSRP again.
One Data Vlan needs to be extended in expanded room. What should be the best practice for configuration in 6509 switches in HSRP. Please suggest.

Just as #1 and #2 are connected with (I would assume) trunking ports, similarly add connections to #3 and #4 Catalyst 6k. Define the layer 2 VLANs in the 6509 and assign access ports to those VLANs as required.
Personally I don't see much value to adding L3 interfaces (SVIs) for the VLANs (and adding them to the HSRP groups) on the 6509s. It depends in part on how your other connectivity into them is setup. If everything leaving the server VLAN goes to users, WAN, Internet etc. via the original pair of 6513s then keep the 6509s simple with only layer 2 VLANs.

  • WS-C3560X-24 needs to be connected with another WS-C3560X-24 core layer 3 sitch.

I got new task moving WS-3560X24 port layer 3 core switch from one branch to be moved  to my  branch and connect WS3560 layer 3 core switch my site network. Both core switch has got 3-4 cisco 2960 switch underneath and lots of vlan offcourse. I am thinking about creating etherchannel between these two switch.
Any suggession and advise will be hightly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

So today you have one core 3560X switch with layer 3 interfaces for all the VLANs which go out to your Access layer 2960 switches - correct?
We would typically see a core (Cisco would call it "distribution" layer in such a case becasue they don't consider the 3560 full-featured or powerful enough to call it a "core" switch) made of of dual switches connected with a trunk port (may be multiple physical ports in a port channel for higher availability and throughput). Each access switch has trunk port connections to core switch #1 and #2. At layer 3, core switch #1 and #2 setup hsrp groups for all VLAN interfaces.
That's the high level approach that most closely resembles a reference architecture. Have a look at the "LAN Baseline Architecture Overview-Branch Office Network" document for more information.

  • Having intermittent Airport connectivity with a 2010 6 core MacPro.  Any help?

Having intermittent Airport connectivity with a 2010 6 core MacPro. When it works has low bars on status graph.  Laptop set up next to it has no connect problems. Airport utility has shown no Airports a couple times when the laptop showed all. When first joined network, staus bar is full, then drops to one or two bars. Would this be an antenna or card being loose? Is it user friendly fix, or bring it to Apple? Thanks in advance.

Would this be an antenna or card being loose?
    Sounds like it.
Is it user friendly fix, or bring it to Apple?
If under AppleCare, bring it to Apple. If not, you can probably find instructions to fix a loose antenna connector yourself.

  • My Apple desktop computer, 2.4 GHz Intel duo core, OS 10.6.8, stopped recognizing the WD My Book connected via firewire. It works fine with the USB port so it's not the drive. Help please.

My Apple desktop computer, 2.4 GHz Intel duo core, OS 10.6.8, stopped recognizing the WD My Book connected via firewire. It works fine with the USB port so it's not the drive. Help please?

It can be the bridge. It could need firmware update. or the FW ports may be an issue. LaCie seemed to invent the phrase/tip 'resetting firewire ports' due to the issues with their drive cases.
You can try an SMC Reset.
So far I have avoided name-brand and tend to see them mentioned. Often with a new OS (though you are on 10.6.8, but when 10.6 came out there was a common complaint and thread of users: FW or USB worked but not the other interface).

  • Question on STP when connecting 2960 with Alpine

    Hi All,
I am trying to connect 2960 switches to the extreme Alpine switches.
As per the diagram below,STP is not running in the alpines.I am not very sure whether STP should be enabled in this scenario to avoid any loops.
    All suggestions are appreciated.
    Note:
Both Alpines are connected as trunk links.
Both 2960's are connected using Fasethernet ports as Trunk using port-channel
Then each Alpine to 2960's using the Gig interface.
    Thanks

    2960---------------- 2960

    Hi
The picture isn't terribly clear but your verbal description says that the two Alpines are connected to each other, and the two 2960s are connected to each other. Also that each Alpine is connected to a 2960.
I guess that the diagram should look like a square?
A square is just a loop with corners, so you definately want STP enabled - there are not many situations where it's recommended to disable it.
Make sure you have portfast turned on (or it's equivalent on the Aplines) on user ports and there should be no negative effects of turning it on.
