HT1198 iPhotos not synching up to iCloud

I have iCloud photo sharing turned on.   I have 6,835 photos in my iPhoto on my Mac, but only 979 photos are showing up in my iCloud.   I have tried dragging hundreds of photos at a time over to iCloud.  Ive tried stopping and restarting iCloud.  I have a GREAT internet connection and very strong wifi.  Why can't I get my iPhoto pictures to show up in iCloud

100 photos
It is not that bad as your typo suggests, Larry - the limit is 1000 photos.
@PM4:   In addition to the limits to My Photo Stream that LarryHN pointed out, there are additional restrictions to the hourly and daily upload rate:

  • IPhoto Not Showing Up In iCloud... Is it cause I don't have OS Lion?

When I log into my my iCloud account I'm not able to see my Photo Stream from my iPhone 4 nor my iPad 2.
Is this cause I haven't upgraded to OS X Lion?
    Or...?

In order to sync photos from either iPhoto or Aperture on your Mac with iOS devices, you need to upgrade to Lion.
You can download Lion from the App Store but make sure your Mac meets Lion's requirements first.
Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7, or Xeon processor
    2GB of memory
    OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
    7GB of available space

  • IPhoto not synching albums with iPad

I have uploaded 1500 pictures to my iPhoto on my iMac.  I already had about 10 existing albums in iPhoto.  I created two new ones which do show up correctly in iPhoto.
I plugged in my iPad to my iMac and sync'd the iPad, then chose Photos to selectively sync only the albums I want.  Most of my albums show up in the list, but not the two new ones that i'd just created in iPhoto.  And those are the two i want moved to my iPad.
Anyone know why the most recent albums in iPhoto will  not show up in the Photo sync dialog in itunes for the iPad?
    Thanks
    Dennis

If the photos are in the correct format and if you can see the albums in iPhoto - I'm not sure what would be causing this to occur - so the typical course of action that I follow whenever I run into unexpected behavior - no matter what devices I am using - iPad, my MacBooks, iPod Touch - and the apps that I use on all of my devices - is to quit the running applications and restart my devices.
Quit iPhoto, quit iTunes, reboot your Mac, restart your iPad and then try again.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
This may not work for you, but it's easy enough to try and it will not hurt anything.

  • IWeb/iPhoto not synching

I have been using iWeb for about a year with no problems. Lately I was trying to add pictures to my web page by clicking media and going to photos as I have been doing for 11 months.
When I click media -> Photos, my iPhoto libray populates with Library, Last 12 Months, Last Roll and some folders but nothing opens when I click ANY of them.
I have to have iPhoto open as well and drag & drop that way.
How do I get it back to letting me select photos through the Media link?
    Thanks in advance!

    moreton
When an app integrates with iPhoto it does so by reading a file in the iPhoto Library Folder called the AlbumData.xml file. If this file is damaged or incomplete then integration will fail.
Go to your Pictures Folder and find the iPhoto Library Folder. From there drag the AlbumData.xml file to the desktop. Restart iPhoto. It should recreate the file, and when you next start iWeb it should work correctly. But you will need to re-start iPhoto and iWeb.

  • IMac contacts do not synch with iCloud, iPhone & iPad contacts do

When I add/modify contacts on my MacBook Pro, the changes do not synch to iCloud, or my iPhone or iPad.  Calendar items and iCloud mail do synch and contactys synch between my iPhone and iPad.  What am I missing?  I have Lion.

First check that all your settings are correct, that contact syncing is checked on all devices (system preferences > iCloud on a mac and settings > iCloud on a iPhone, iPad or iPod).
Make sure the contacts you are adding are added to your 'iCloud' group and not an 'On My Mac', 'On My Phone' or other non iCloud group (you can do this by checking in groups), non iCloud contacts will not sync.
If you are sure that everything is set up correctly and your contacts are in the iCloud group, you might try unchecking contact syncing in the iCloud settings, restarting your device and then re-enabling contact syncing.

  • IPhone calendar event issue- not synching across iCloud

Events created on my iPhone will not sync across iCloud to display on my Calendar App on my iPad or on my laptop.
iPhone 5 iOS 8.1.3 - this started yesterday with no changes having been made to any of my iCloud settings.  On my laptop I get a new icon displays in my doc - see attached image, but when I click on it it just goes away and the new event is not synched.  If I don't click on this icon, it eventually disappears and the event is also not added to my calendar.
I Can create events on my iPad and laptop and have them show on my phone.  I can create Notes on my iPhone and they sync across devices.
I have tried changed the iPhone calendarsync settings from 'Events 1 Month Back' to 'All Events' and vice versa.  On the iPhone I have turned Off synching of calendars, waited and re-enabled synching.  I have cycled power to my iPhone.

Thanks Sterling - I've read through both those articles and performed all the troubleshooting steps in the iCloud: Troubleshooting iCloud Calendar - Apple Support article.  I have verified bluetooth is on, I'm on the same wireless network, same iCloud account signed into on all devices, etc.
Still new events entered on my iPhone do not get added to my laptop or iPad calendar.  The handoff icon shows in my doc, but it does not put the new event onto the calendar.
Through some more testing, I have also found the same issue with reminders; if I create one on my iPhone it will not be displayed on my laptop or iPad.
Again I have no problems creating these on my laptop or iPad and having them show on All my devices, including my iPhone.  And another family member can create them on their iPhone 6, iOS 8.1.3 and they come across to all my devices; laptop, iPad and my iPhone5.
Please advise what else I can do, as not being able to create events or reminders on my iPhone and have them sync across devices is a problem.

  • How can I retrieve a video clip that I deleted from my iPhone 4s? I did not back up on iCloud or iTunes or iPhotos?

I accidentally deleted a video from my iPhone 4s.  I believe I am using IOS 7.  As soon as I realised my mistake, I switched off my wifi connection, data roaming, etc, to ensure that no new data can enter the phone.  I have not taken any more photos or videos since the incident.  I have kept my iPhone switched on since the incident.  I had not backed up to iCloud or iTunes or iPhotos.
    Any advice? Thanks

If it is not on PhotoStream and you did not backup, it is gone.

  • How can I copy my music files to my iPAD. The CDs are currently stored in folders on my PC. Note: Synching via iCLOUD won't work because I have VISTA OS and I need at least Windows 7 or 8.

How can I copy my music files to my iPAD. The CDs are currently stored in folders on my PC. Note: Synching via iCLOUD won't work because I have VISTA OS and I need at least Windows 7 or 8.

    Hi ladextr,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.  To sync your music to your iPad, first put your music in iTunes as described here:
Adding music and other content to iTunes
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1473
Adding content on your computer to iTunes
iTunes helps you add digital audio and video files on your computer directly to your iTunes library. You can add audio files that are in AAC, MP3, WAV, AIFF, Apple Lossless, or Audible.com (.aa) format. If you have unprotected WMA content, iTunes for Windows can convert these files to one of these formats. You can also add video content in QuickTime or MPEG-4 format to iTunes. To learn how to add these files to iTunes follow the steps below.
    Open iTunes
From the File menu, choose one of the following choices:
    MacAdd to Library
    Windows
    Add File to Library
    Add Folder to Library
Navigate to and select the file or folder that you want to add
If iTunes is set to "Copy files to the iTunes Music folder when adding to library," iTunes will copy all content that is added to the iTunes library to the iTunes Music folder. To adjust this setting or change the location of this folder, go to the Advanced tab in iTunes Preferences.
Once that's done, you can sync the music to your iPad by following this article:
iTunes 11 for Windows: Set up syncing for iPod, iPhone, or iPad
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ph12313

  • Using iCloud - not synching ibooks

My iBooks are not synching from ipad to iphone 4s
    Any suggestions?

Sorry. Not sure where those ampersands came from. Anyways, I found that in order to be able to sync your iCloud calendar to your mac osx lion calendar you must first open up prefs in iCal and go to accounts, then add new account. Here you will have the option to select "iCloud" account. Once you do, you will notice that you will have a duplicate of every event in your calendar. This is because it is displaying "your mac calendar" and "iCloud" calendar all at once. All you got to do is click on calendars on the top left (within iCal of course) and deselect all the "your mac calendars" leaving solely iCloud. This may just be a work around but it seems it's just (do i dare say it?) "by design"

  • Photo Event/Album Thumbnail not Synched with iPhoto

    Hi and tnxs for reading.
Is there a way to sync my iPhoto Album/Event Thumbnails with my iOS devices? I am noticing that on them, only the first photos are used as thumbnails.
    Tnxs, cheers

    1) why is this not an automatic feature? I mean, do I have to manually trash that folder every time I do modifications and need to sync them or is it supposed to autoupdate automatically sometimes?
You shouldn't have to. This should update automaically.
I see that my thumbnails are not synched aswell. In iPhoto Events/Albums I can select a thumbnail. However, on my iOS devices photo library, the thumbnail is the first photo of the Event/Album. Any chance to syncautomatically the same thumbnail I have in iPhoto
I have no idea. I'd ask that on a forum for your Phone/Pad/Pod...

  • TS3999 my outlook calendar is not synching through icloud even though both PC and iphone set up that way

This is weird, i am not good at open inquiry.. but think something simple is not set.  I did have synching initially when accepted icloud synch, instead of direct connect of iphone and PC.  Something has changed on Calendars and thus appts are not synching.  HELP!

If new events added to your phone are not appearing on your calendar on icloud.com, one thing to check on your phone is Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>Default Calendar.  This should be set to your iCloud calendar.  Then add a new event on your iPhone calendar and see if it syncs to icloud.com properly.
If your settings are correct and new events on your phone are still not syncing to your calendar on icloud.com, add any missing events on your iPhone to your calendar on icloud.com.  Once the calendar on icloud.com is up to date, go to Settings>iCloud, turn Calendars to Off, choose Delete from My iPhone when prompted (your calendar will still be in iCloud), then after a minute or so, turn Calendars back to On.  Then add a new event to your phone and see if it syncs to icloud.com now.

  • IPhone 4 not synching with iCloud or Macbook

    Hi,
I have an iPhone 4 that is not synching with iCloud correctly.  For contacts there is over 500 on my phone and only 41 in my iCloud.  Also, there is a similar issue when I synch through iTunes (10.7 version 21).  I run a MacBook with Snow Leapord.  Any ideas on what I must do?
    Thanks!

Suggest a small trial - create on the Computer a small playlist of Songs - using the iPhone on local WiFi select the playlist scroll to the end and select the option to 'download all' - you should find that the Songs are immediately available for playing on the iPhone.
If the trial does not work there is a more serious issue ... do post back the progress you make.

  • Safari 7 Bookmarks and Read List Not Synching with iCloud

Safari does not synch bookmarks or reading list with iCloud.  Cloud tabs does work. Everything else works.
When I turn the sync setting on/off in iCloud (control panel) it asks me if I want to merge and I say yes each time.  No change.  I can add bookmarks normally.
I did the checklist Apple suggests - and made sure I was linked to teh right account, have internet access, ect... The only thing I can not confirm is port numbers - but this machine is at work, next to my other iMac that is working perfectly (on Mavs too)
So far I've done each of these 2-5 times each:
    Restarted
    Reset all in Safari Pref
    Cleared all extensions
Unlinked my iCloud account in Control Panel>iCloud - Safari
Unlinked the entire account and deleted everything (3 times)
Deleted all traces of Safari; library, plsit, etc. (except the program - not allowed)
    re-linked to Keychain (3 times)
    Out of ideas
    Any suggestions appreciated
    Anyone else having this problem?
    Thanks in advance

Having the same problem as you David, I've just about gone nuts trying to solve it but Bookmarks and Reading Lists are not syncing across my iPad Mini, iPhone and Mac. When I've dug into the console files on my Mac it's reporting that the SafariDAVClient is crashing like a fiend, seems to be trying to access a file that either doesn't exist or was moved o_O
Anyone have any ideas? I've also resorted to Apple's recommendations as well as to solutions posted around the forums, with no luck whatsoever. I've even edited and purged my bookmarks down to only the stuff I really think I should keep. Also tried to keep it empty and adding a fresh new bookmark. Nada...

  • Numbers not synching with iCloud

    Dear Apple
Numbers on my iOS devices and my iMac do not synch with iCloud.  I have been struggling with this issue for 2 months.  When oh when will Apple fix this.
    My decides:
iMax iMac (21.5-inch, Mid 2010) running OS X Yosemite 10.10.1(14B25)
iPad series 2 running iOS 8.1.1
iPhone 6 plus running iOS 8.1.1
Help please as the only way i can work is to use my iPhone only at present.
    spiral_arm

    Dear Apple
Do I really think you read the message above...well no I don't think you have the time.  However, the problem seems now to be fix.  Last evening the iMac and iPhone started to be in sych and I fully tested changes in both directions. At that time the iPad was still not synched.  This morning the set of files that the iPad was looking at seemed to be more up to date.  I then started my iMac and ran the iTunes synch again for the iPad and iPhone.  Magically all devices are now in synch. No time to test that changes from the iPad now but I believe all will now be well. How odd!
