HT1199 My iDVD opens then immediately quits. BUT if I go to another user it works

I have recently upgraded i Mac (july 2011) and was surprised to find no i DVD ! (why apple ?)
so the local store installed it. now my new hard drive has just been replaced ! and many files have been lost.
So on my user partition I have the icon, and when I try to open it it opens and immmediately shuts down.
If i go to another user partition it works
I am guessing something is corrupt or missing.
Can anyone help get me up and running

Force quit the application and try again.
Try a reset or restart of the device, trying the app after each step.

PowerPC apps start then immediately quit all the time...

9 times out of 10 a PowerPC app will start and then immediately quit. This happened with 1 GB RAM and it happens with 2 GB. It has happened since day one and I'm sick of it.
On a daily basis I use Word, Excel, Photoshop CS 2, Quicken 2005, Thoth, and a few other PowerPC apps. I cannot find, or do I want to find alternatives to these apps. I like them.
I've repaired permissions, run Disk Utility, reinstalled the 10.4.7 combo updater, et cetera. Nothing remedies this problem.
What could be causing PowerPC apps to almost never run on my brand new $3000 MBP?

Sorry to hear of problems although you may have to end up purchasing Office for Mac 2004 if you don’t have already, and perhaps newer versions of other software favorites. With newer technology, comes new features and updated software to leverage that new technology.

Ipod touch 1st gen apps open then immediately close

All downloaded apps open then immediately close except a few. All factory apps(ones that cant be deleted) work.

Have you tried basics from the manual?
restart.
reset.
restore.

I select yes, then new message - word can not open this document.the document might be in use or it may not be an invalid document.

How do I resolve: You are not permitted to open this document. It may be assigned to another user."

I am the only user on a computer, and have ordered two codes on line, and used them for a long time. Recently redid hard drive, and now I cannot open those two files only. I get the message: "You are nbot permitted to open this document. It may be assigned to another user." I am the only user, and maybe the name of the computer is different. How can I resolve this by accessing what permission and what user it is talking about.

Checking the configuration, this user can create for example AR invoices, but could not see previous records and neither the created by him. Using the Open Item list, the user can see the documents but can not open it. In the other hand the system has not activated the data onwership function.

I have purchased Black Jack Pro - G 3 Studios. It will not work. It come up but immediately flips off. I called apple Support and they said delete it and re-down load. I have tried that many times. When I go to App store and try to re-download - it comes up "Downloaded" - as in you alreadly have purchased it. Always before on other Apps, I just delete and repurchase and when it comes up OK. But this one comes up "Downloaded", so it will not let me repurchase it.

Currently my desktop is not connecting at all, Everytime I connect, it's states "We have now logged you out" and requests I login again.
I have of course rebooted,
Gone into taskmanager, killed all the relevant threads, tried again to login through the desktop, no luck, I'll have to uninstall it, make sure the threads are killed, then reboot it and then reinstall it, but I've not had the time to do that.
On another note, and just as a point of reference, myself, personally, I hate these "cloud" file repositories (not to be confused with adobe cloud services which I love) but the file repositories themselves imho, are a blackhole of resource usage when one doesn't/isn't using them,
Is there a way we can use it more of a "ftp" sort of thing, when I want to I can put files there? There is no way to "Download" the repository, no way to download the folders.. only individual files and then it takes I think three different steps before the download starts.. I find this very inhibiting. Just an fyi. for what it's worth.

What do I do when an application loads, then immediately quits?

I'm using Muse CC 2014.1. It worked fine a few days ago. When I launched it this morning the preferences appeared to be scrambled: the application frame was turned on (I never do that) and the panels on the right had a bizarre setup that I never made. As I was straightening out the panels the program abruptly quit. Now it immediately quits as soon as it is launched. On OSX.9.5 I repaired Disk Utility permissions and restarted the computer. The problem persisted. I then uninstalled and reinstalled Muse, but the problem remains. None of my other CC applications have been affected.
Any suggestions for solving this problem?

Muse loads fine in a different user account but still crashes when logged in on my primary account.

When I click on a program with my ipad air, it opens then immediately goes back to the home screen. I often have to open a program 2 or 3 times before it stays open. Is anyone else having this problem?

My ipad air sometimes opens a program, then immediately closes an returns to the home screen. Often will take me 2 or 3 times opening the program to get it to stay open. This does not happen with any particular program. Happens randomly.

What you are describing is that the app is "crashing". You may notice that some apps do it more than others. To try and fix this, cycle the power. To do this, you want to fully turn the iPad off.
Hold the sleep wake button down.
The iPad should say something like, "slide to turn off". Do that.
After the screen is not grey, and completely black... wait 15 seconds, then turn your iPad on again.
This should resolve your issues.

Whenever I try to open an app that didn't come with the iTouch it opens momentarily then immediately quits. What's going on?

The apps I downloaded from the app store worked fine last night, but this morning they would start to open and then quit out right away. What's happening, and how can I fix it?

- First try resetting the iPod. Nothing will be lost:

Photos app opens then immediately exits

Have upgraded to IOS5 and setup Photo Stream
Now Photos on iPhone opens but immediately exits - see they initial screen for just c0.5sec & no entries in list
Photos are however going to Photo Stream and are appearing on a seperate iPad

You shouldn't lose anything because its all saved on the internet. Since you're using an account. It will all still be there if you delete the app, reinstall it and log back in.
Deleting the app should work, but if it doesn't, you will usually have to wait for a bug fix app update. Every time your app crashes it sends a report to instagram and they try and fix the problem, so the bug fix update shouldn't take too long.

XP computer crashes when Firefox is open, then blames nVidia, but no blue screen appears.

XP Service Pack 3, with all updates
Firefox multiple versions, currently 15
nVidia 6200 with multiple versions of drivers
Deep Scan using Vipre with current updates, found no viruses.
Computer reboots unexpectedly, no blue screen, but on recovery, Windows reports there was a blue screen and nVidia caused it. However, without Firefox open, I've had no crashes. Sometimes Firefox can be open, but then crashes when one of several new tabs (sites) are opened, but cannot identify what site might be causing it.

Are you experiencing this issue with another browser? Can you update to the newest version at http://getfirefox.com ?
Also you may have a virus -
Sometimes a problem with Firefox may be a result of malware installed on your computer, that you may not be aware of.
You can try some of the following programs to scan for malware:

Idvd opens....but no drop zones show

Hello everyone, i seem to be having a problem with Idvd. recently ive tried to open idvd, and the program asks me to make a new project, where to save. I would do all the required actions to make the project, but when i think the program is going to open with the drop zones, nothing shows up, but music is playing. I hold click on the idvd icon on the dock, and shows the program as if its hidden someplace else. I click on the Idvd drop zone, and the program magically disappears once again. the music is there, the program is "open", but its hidden somewhere, which has been bothering me. Ive also deleted the program, and reinstalled it, and the same problem occurs. What can i do to fix this?

Mail opens then immediately closes

I am able to open my mail, it then updates, and about 5 seconds later just closes and goes back to the home screen. I have tried powering off/on but it keeps doing this. Any suggestions for why this is happening and how to fix it?

I'm suffering from this problem, but I'm not sure what you mean by this: "remove all of the folders under your inbox and move them to the top level mailbox. Do this in Outlook. See if the app still crashes after the move."
I have years of email organized into folders (Security policy won't let me make PSTs) are you saying I have to toss all that organization away in order to fix this issue? Or do I just delete the emails? Why doesn't it just work? Isn't that why we love apple?

On 27th and 28th marchb2013 , I pad calendar, (showing March), opens then immediately closes. I cannot get into thebCalendar to change anything, (previous bug involved having all-da events on April 1st. How to fix this bug?

I followed your instructions and installed Developer Suite 10G on Windows Vista Home Premium edition. I have Oracle 11G DB running on the same machine.
Two points, Steve:
1. When I tried to set the maximum virtual memory to 6110 an error message displayed from Windows and told me that I can't set the maximum virtual memory to more than 4096. I set it to 4090 and it worked and I got nothing wrong during the installation process.
2. After installing JInitiator and disabling Java on Firefox I called the http://127.0.0.1:8889/forms/frmservlet page and everything seemed to be OK because the Oracle Forms Services logo appeared and then a successful installation message appeared , but as I clicked (ok) to continue a gray screen appeared inside the browser (like the one displayed when you try to run a Java applet inside a browser) and then I wait to death till something appears but sadly nothing. I just get a blank gray screen inside my Firefox browser.
Do you have any idea what to do to solve the problem?
