1 - Reset Password at My Apple ID [Appleid.apple.com]
Reset Password - Found under Manage
Chose either [Email Authentication OR Secureity Questions]
[Email Authentication will only work IF you had/have a recovery email set up - Other wise hope you remember the answers to your questions]
2 - Contact AppleCare Account Secureity via Expresslane.apple.com
Note: Hope you can Verify your information - As only way to have password reset

If you have already went and create a New Apple ID with your most recent Valid Email Address - you are not at all completely out of luck [Unless you are unable to reset your password for the Original Apple iD then you are.]
But can create another [Valid/bogus] email from a free domain.
Once get password reset for Old un-available Email Address Apple ID
Then you first want to edit the New Apple ID with the other new email
This frees up the email you want to use for your apple id
Sign into Older Apple ID edit with email you want to use.

If you are seeing an Apple ID that is not yours, then you have purchased content on your iPad that is tied to that Apple ID. You would need to know that password or remove the content that is associated with that Apple ID.

OK, now I have another problem. I typed in my email address wrong. Instead of optonline.net I typed in optimum.net. Though I can google my email address and it defaults to the optonline.net the email to confirm the change is not showing up. I know, real stupid. Your apps were purchased under the old ID, so they will have to be deleted and re-purchased/downloaded under your new one.

You need to ask Apple to reset your security questions; ways of contacting them include phoning AppleCare and asking for the Account Security team, clicking here and picking a method for your country, and filling out and submitting this form.
They wouldn't be security questions if they could be bypassed without Apple verifying your identity.

Thank you for the details of the issue you are experiencing when trying to create an Apple ID for your daughter. Because her email address is associated with your Apple ID, you are receiving the message that the email address is in use.
To remedy this, you will have to first remove her email address from your account using steps 1-3 of the section titled "How to add an additional email address that is already associated with another Apple ID" in the article below and then attempt to create her Apple ID with her email address:

Someone else opened an itunes account with my email address

I attempted to change my email address on my itunes account and discovered that my current email address was already in use. I thought I must have registered it at some point and forgotten the password so I did the password reset. When I logged in, I discovered the account actually belonged to someone else.So obviously someone had the email address before I did and used it to open an itunes account that has never been updated. Since I've had the address for quite awhile, I can only assume that person does not use itunes anymore. I'd still like to update my account but can find no way to either close the other person's account or notify that person that they need to update their account. My other concern is that when I do update the account with my current email address, I worry that the person who previously had the address will decide to use itunes again and will end up in my account.
What do I do?

I see, oh you should definately take Carolyn's advice. I've needed to talk to an Account Security Rep a few times, and even though you may need to start the process online, they will talk to you on the phone in a case like this, as it's just too difficult to type out all of the complicated but critical details.

What did you rent the film on, your iPad or your Mac ? If you rented it on your iPad then it should have downloaded into the Videos app on it (you should get a rentals tab in the app). If you rented it on your Mac then it should be in the Movies part of your Mac's iTunes library, you will have to connect your iPad to your Mac's iTunes and move it from your Mac to your iPad (I think that it should show on the iPad's Movies tab for moving)

If you have purchases on your iPod Shuffle that you want to sync back to iTunes, but are under the Apple ID you no longer have access to, you'll need to reset that account information. You can use this link to reset your password.

If that doesn' work or help, you'll need to contact iTunes support and have them walk you through the process of resetting the older account information. Once you know the email and password again, you can authorize your new computer and transfer any purchases from this account back to iTunes.
For all non-iTunes purchased content, you'll need to the assistance of some sort of third party software that is not supported by Apple. See this older post from another forum member Zevoneer covering the different methods and software available to assist you with the task of copying content from your iPod back to your PC and into iTunes.

Qauzzy, The credit was applied to the account you used at the time you redeemed the card. There is no way to transfer the credit to another account.
You might as well just spend the $25 on the new account, and then stop using it and go back to your regular account..
For future reference, do not start a new account just because you have a problem with the code. Rather, follow the suggestions in this document: iTunes Store: Invalid, inactive, or illegible codes

You can share an iCloud calendar (see http://support.apple.com/kb/PH2690), but I don't think you will be able to share iCloud contacts unless you are signed into the same iCloud account on both phones.

My Iphone 4 is telling me the same thing and I believe I figured out what the problem is. I had some fraudulent charges on my itunes account, so I call my bank and disputed the charges. Right after I did that, I started getting the message "Your apple ID has been disabled." I just realized today that the charges are not fraudulent, they are "in app purchases." One of my daughters downloaded the game Top Girl which is FREE, but in the game Top Girl you use money in the game to purchase things. It just so happens that the money you use to purchase things is real money MY Money!!!. My daughter thought she was using play money in the game and had no idea she was using real money. She spent $106.00 buying stuff. Now I have to call the bank and tell them to release the hold and pay Itunes. I'm hoping this solves the problem. If the music was purchased using iTunes on your iPhone you will need to transfer it from the iPhone to the laptop. When iTunes is up, and your iPhone is connected and showing under devices, right-click on the name of your iPhone, and select transfer purchases, all of the purchases will transfer to the laptop, but will still be on the iPhone.
