HT1209 how to transfer music from old iPod nano to new iPod touch

how to transfer music from old iPod nano to new iPod touch ?

The 1st and 2nd gen iPod shuffle can only be used with one iTunes library (not "account") at a time.  Your Apple ID and password does not matter.  (Later shuffles can be used with more than one iTunes library, IF it is set to use the Manually manage music option.)
So, if you sync it with a different iTunes library, the previous content will be replaced.  You need to offload the existing content to your new computer's drive as the first step.
You cannot transfer song files from iPod to computer using iTunes, except for songs purchased from the iTunes Store.  However, there are third-party methods and utilities that can transfer from iPod to computer.  If you do an Internet search on something like "ipod transfer," you should get some links.  (The CNET article seems to be popular.)
Once the song files are on your computer's drive, you can add them to the iTunes library.  After confirming all of your songs are there, sync your shuffle with that iTunes library.

many thanks - is it something to do with deactivation?
How long does it take for the whole process?

do not transfer.  install all adobe products (including cs6) using their installer.
the whole process depends on a number of factors, but generally takes more than 10 minutes and less than 2 hours.  the biggest factor is your download speed if you need to download the installation file(s).

  • How to transfer music from my iPhone to my new mac book pro itunes

I would like to transfer my music from my iphone into my new macbook pro itunes

    Questions:
Is the music from iTunes store or other source?
Do you have an iTunes or iCloud account?
What kind of Internet connection(s) do you have available?
If you have an iTunes account and purchased the music there, you can just make sure the new MacBook is using the same account as the phone and sync, or look at the Purchased list on the left side in iTunes on the Mac. You should see your past purchases there and they will download and play as needed.
If your music isn't iTunes purchased, I don't know how to do it... someone will.
What is your setup as far as iTunes?

    Hello td4man,
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities!
To get music to your iPod you plug in your iPod Nano to the computer with the supplied usb cable and then sync the music.
Here is a pretty helpful article named iTunes: Syncing media content to iPod found here http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1351
You want to look at the Syncing Automatically link therein.

  • How to transfer music from old to new IPod

I recently bought a new 30GB IPod Photo. How can I get the music from my old IPod to this new one?

If your music is only on your iPod and you have no back up or the original computer to sync to, there is a manual method of accessing the iPod's hard drive and copying songs back to iTunes on Windows posted in this thread: MacMuse - iPod to iTunes
If you prefer something more automated then there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the files from your iPod, this is just a selection. Have a look at the web pages and documentation for these, they are generally quite straightforward.

  • How to transfer music from old pc (that's not on itunes), onto ipod/new pc itunes account?

Just bought my first ipod. All my music I need to put onto it is on my parent's pc (it is not in itunes, just as normal music files (had old sony mp3 that has broken)), BUT I will be using my own pc for my itunes account. How do I do this without wiping the ipod/etc? thanks

Use a Flash Drive/Portable HD/CD/DVD to transfer the mp3 files to your PC.  Then import them into itunes.

Once everything is in iTunes you can sync your new iPod.

  • How to Transfer Music from PC to Notebook so my ipod can be updtd from both

I need help with transfering my music from my PC to my notebook. I've been told I can buy a cable and transfer files from one computer to another but I wanted to know if anybody is aware of an easier way to transfer my Library from the PC to the Notebook. They are connected to the same modem/router. I could also send them through AIM but that would take a very long time I presume. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated! My music is completely legal so there shouldn't be any copyright infringements should there? Thanks again!

You can move your iTunes folder rather than a file at a time. This guide will tell you how to do this so that you save all your settings, playlists etc. http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=301748
You need to check your Windows manual for exactly how to network your two PCs to do the transfer, sorry I can't help on that as I use a Mac.

  • Macbook screen cracked. How to transfer files from old hard drive to new computer?

I had a 13" white macbook, but the screen cracked, and the computer wouldn't work anymore. I took it to be fixed, but they weren't able to fix it, so they gave me a macbook pro. I asked them to try and transfer the files from my old macbook to the old one, but they said that they couldn't, and gave my the hard drive and said I could have someone else try to fix it for me. How do I connect the old hard drive to my new macbook to see if I can get the files off of it? I don't have the old computer anymore, just the hard drive itself. Thanks!

Sorry, I don't understand all of this stuff. Do I have to buy a certain one for Mac? Or will any enclosure work?  Would this one do what I need? http://www.bestbuy.ca/en-CA/product/startech-startech-external-hard-drive-enclos ure-with-integrated-usb-cable-sat2510scb-sat2510scb/10192449.aspx?path=9e9804b6f 287edbfe4f83d36c2a6aa71en02

  • How to transfer music from old ipod to newer ipod

When I attempt to transfer, itunes sync would only allow to transfer if you clear ipod to allow transfer from another computer. unfortunately it cleared the external hardrive that had all the music not the ipod itself. is there a step by step way tutorial to do this correctly?

Go to iTunes, sync new iPad and all your music should be there.

  • How to transfer music from old computer to new one

The logic board is shot on my old iBook. I bought a new one. I can access the old one through target disk mode. I replaced the iTunes folder on the new one with the iTunes folder from the old one but the music doesn't show up in the library. If I go to the iTunes music folder and click on a song it gets added to the new library, but I have 4000 songs. My admin user name is the same on both computers. What's the secret?

    Hi
    Follow this:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=300173
Where the article talks about using an iPod you simply transfer directly between the old hard drive and the new hard drive.

  • How to transfer music from old to new account?

Hi i had an account for itunes that was with AOL but as im not with AOL anymore they have stopped me from using the account so how do i transfer my old music to a new account or is it not possible?

OK, if you have followed the advice on the page, it is probably best to contact Apple via the contact us button at the bottom of the page.
BTW have you checked that all you account info is correct in the new account?

  • How to transfer music from old hard drive

I just upgraded my drive (same computer) and installed leopard. My older drive has my imported and purchased music on it. Running under Tiger. I can access the drive with a remote kit, so all files from the old drive are still accessable.
how and what do I need to do to transfer all my music library and purchased music/authorizations to the new hard drive?

I've tried doing that, and had an odd result. All of the names of the songs are added to my library, but when I attempt to listen to well over half of them, I get an error message:
"The song "__" could not be used because it could not be found. Would you like to locate it"
And indeed, the only music that shows up in the finder window are songs that will play. The very newest music seems to play, including things purchased from iTunes. Tech support said they can't help with the issue because of copyright concerns, but I just don't want to put 5 crates full of CDs into my computer one by one!
    Any thoughts?

  • How to transfer music from old computer and itunes to new computer itunes

How can i get all my music off my old windows xp version with itunes to my new vista with itunes

I wonder if you might know how to answer this somewhat related question: I, unfortunately, copied my iTunes music library onto an external hard drive before I read about the consolidating option. Stupidly, I then did the consolidation. Now I have each song listed twice in my library and one of each is an orphan, so I have to manually locate each one. That's a lot of music! Is there a way to undo my stupidity?
