How do I delete some of my songs on my iPhone? My phone loaded all of my iTunes into it. I only want a few songs on my phone not more than 500 songs which are now on the phone.....help please!

First, you have to go to your iCloud settings and close the "music" tab. All the songs you didn't mean to download will disappear from your phone. Then, if you want to delete a song swipe it right to left, which gives you a 'delete button, swipe that right to left and the song goes away.

I would do a transfer of purchases from the phone and not sync. If you sync then it will want to start over and sync music that is on the MacBook Pro. If you want to transfer the music, check out the article below that will give you multiple options on how to move. I have also provided on how to sync with multiple computers.

I am trying to delete songs from itune 11 library and i want it to delete the song from my hard drive as well. All my songs are in the music folder but not in the itunes folder?? itunes did not prompt me to move file to trash nor is there an option??

The iTunes Media folder is set in Preferences > Advanced, and is the key to most iTunes folder organizational activities. So I doubt that the automatic deletion will work for files that are somewhere else within the folder structure.
However, I have not experimented with that issue in quite a while, so you are welcome to give it a try in iTunes 11.

i've deleted all the songs... emptied the Recycle Bin too...
i used to be able to just clear all the music away and sync in a whole new set of songs..

Bought two songs from iTunes store on my iPhone 4s. Tried bringing the songs from my phone to my computer iTunes through iCloud but it doesn't even show the option to choose music?

My computer has been authorised and has the newest version of iTunes. My iPhone shoes the option of choosing my computer's music but my computer doesn't even show the option of music, but shows apps, movies, tv-shows and books. When i choose the option of find music to download from my phone, it says i have downloaded all yet i haven't and the music isn't in my library.
This was my first time when i bought anything from iTunes store and it also shows in my account information that i have bought these two songs but when trying to download them from my iCloud it doesn't work. Also when i click on the songs in my iTunes store on my computer, it says i have bought them but doesn't show the option of playing them. Is the problem in my iPhone or is this something to do with the songs' copyrights?

Itunes let me buy a song, but now wont let me buy anything else. How do I delete the song from my billing receipt so I can start updating my apps again?? PLEASE HELP

I had gotten a gift card with around $20 on it so I decided to buy some songs. I had bought a few, then I bought the last song, and now iTunes wont allow me to update my apps, or let me download any other apps because apparently I have $0 on my card; The weird part about that is it let me keep the song, but wont let me get anything else regardless of the charge. I don't have a credit card myself, so I'm really trying to avoid buying another gift card for one 99 cent song. Does anyone know how to get rid of a song from the billing receipt? I've tried everything!

Wife's iTunes is blank...how can I get the songs back?

My wife opened her iTunes today and it was blank - songs, videos, playlists, everything. Is there an easy way to get them back?
Under Preferences/Advanced it still shows the same iTunes Music Folder location that we've always used. It's just that iTunes doesn't seem to be seeing it...

Try holding down the Option key when opening iTunes. In the resulting dialogue you will get the option to create a new library or navigate to an existing one. The default location for your iTunes library is in User/Music/iTunes. Look in there and see if you have more than one library file. If you have more than one try opening them in turn, you may find your original library is still intact: How to open an alternate iTunes Library file

Have you tried deleting the songs from Settings?
Settings -> General -> Usage -> Manage Storage (not the iCloud link!) -> Music and then click Edit to enable you to be able to delete.

Urgh its just so annoying that Apple updated Itunes 11 and it wouldnt let me delete songs that I hate! Its syncing all of the songs and I didnt want that to happen. You sync music the same way as on the Classic. What you sync to an iPod does not effect the iTunes library on your computer.

It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer for just such an occasion. Use your backup copy to put everything back.
If you have failed to bakup, then you can transfer itunes purchases from an ipod: File>Transfer Purchases

If you're syncing with a different iTunes library than the one you previously synced with, then there is no way around it. You're gonna loose the old data. The only way round it would be to make sure that all the music files on your iPhone is also in your iTunes library. If you still have access to the computer with the old library, you could copy the files on to an external harddrive, and then import them into your new iTunes library.
If it is in fact the same library, then the music currently on your iphone, is also in your itunes library. Just make sure that the artists/albums/playlists, or whatever you sync contains these tracks, that you allready have on your phone and don't want deleted. What i do is, i create a playlist specifically for my iPhone, and i set it up to only sync with this playlist. Whenever i hear a track from my iTunes library or buy a new track that i want on my phone, i just drag it to this playlist and next time i synchronize, it's there without deleting anything else.

You can sort your library by adding a Sorting info in the File Info. Select a file in iTunes U, press cmd + i, choose Sorting Tab. For example add a Sort Name. For each file you have to put a value into that field, I did it with 01, 02, 03 .. 12. I do not know if this works if you select multiple files, but I did not try.
The next time you sync your device, your files will be in order. It' ve tested it on an iPad2.
If you ask me, there must be a better solution for that problem as the files have a track number saved in the info as well, and it is quite annoying to add the sorting order manually.
