i need to know how to reset my ipod

If you forgot your screen-lock passcode:
Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

    For how to restore:
    iTunes: Restoring iOS software

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try another cable
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

If the sleep/wake button doesn't work use the home button and if the home button doesn't work it's the other way around, however if both of them don't work charge it with your connector connected with your computer or wall socket and it will turn on. Hope this helps.

will all your music, pictures, etc. be deleted if you reset your ipod touch? thanks!

A reset, as described in the basics section of the manual erases nothing at all.
    A restore erases everything.
Everything that is on your ipod should always be on your computer, so you can put it back.

  • How to reset my ipod touch

For the past 2 hours I have been trying to reset my ipod without a password. my computer does not accept my ipod because it does not have the new update. So when i tried to update my computer it won't accept my password to start the download. So when I tried to see wat was wrong with my password cause I knew it was right I found nothing. So I tried to restart my ipod anyway but it didn't work either. Is there a way to restart it without the computer or icloud or anything else. I'm extremly fustrated. When I restarted my nook tablet a couple months ago it wasn't nearly as difficult and it took me 5 minutes. Please help! I'm about readying to return it and get a new one cause I still got 6 months warranty on it. But I want to avoid that so please help.

If the iPod is Disabled or yur fogot the scree-lock pascode and the iPod has iOS 5 or higher, have an internet connection to the iPod
If you don't have access to a computer
If you are using Find My iPhone, you can use Remote Wipe to restore your device. If you have been using iCloud to back up, you may be able to restore the most recent backup to reset the passcode.
    Otherwise:
Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to a computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

  • HOWTO/FIX: How to get your iPod touch recognised in iTunes

    Hi,
I'm going to explain how to fix this problem but let me give you a little background first.
I was starting from scratch so what could go wrong:
    1. Fresh Windows XP SP2 install, fully updated on brand new MacBook pro.
    2. Firewall (Komodo) and Anti-virus (avast) installed
    3. Firefox
    4. Latest iTunes
And the iPod touch wouldn't show up. I went through every guide and every step on the apple website including the 5Rs, registry fixes, xp app cleanup, USB port settings, re-installs, resets etc but nothing worked.
    So what was the solution?
Install iTunes 7.5.5 instead of 7.6! Simple as that.
Hopes this helps some people seeing as I've wasted about 5 hours of my life on this.
    Cheers,
    Karle

Find someone with a PC or go to an Apple store.
However, if the screen only says disabled:
If you don't have access to a computer
If you are using Find My iPhone, you can use Remote Wipe to restore your device. If you have been using iCloud to back up, you may be able to restore the most recent backup to reset the passcode.
