I can not remember my passcode on my iphone 4s. I tried 5 times. Told me to try again in 60 minutes. Will i lose my data, contacts, photos and texts if I enter it incorrectly again?

I believe if you really cant remember it, you can restore your phone by plugging it into itunes. This would wipe your data, but hopefully you've already backed up your phone via iTunes or iCloud.

  • HT1212 a friend gave me her iphone but could not remember her passcode and the phone is disable.  What can i do to reset the phone

A friend gave me her old iphone 4 but could not remember the passcode and the phone is disabled.  How can I reset the passcode?

    In HT1212,
If you have never synced your device with iTunes, or you do not have access to a computer
If you see one of following alerts, you need to erase the device:
"iTunes could not connect to the [device] because it is locked with a passcode. You must enter your passcode on the [device] before it can be used with iTunes."
"You haven't chosen to have [device] trust this computer"
If you have Find My iPhone enabled, you can use Remote Wipe to erase the contents of your device. If you have been using iCloud to back up, you may be able to restore the most recent backup to reset the passcode after the device has been erased.
Alternatively, place the device in recovery mode and restore it to erase the device:
Disconnect the USB cable from the device, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to shut down.
While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.
Continue holding the Home button until you see the Connect to iTunes screen.
iTunes will alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode. Click OK, and then restore the device.

  • I do not remember the passcode to my iPad.

I do not remember the passcode to my iPad and it was set up on someone else's iTunes. It will not restore without the passcode on my iTunes on my computer. Can I fix this at a retail location?

If you can't remember the passcode, then you can unlock it on another computer though the content will be wiped and I think that you need to put it into DFU mode first e.g. post https://discussions.apple.com/message/15385719#15385719 in thread https://discussions.apple.com/message/15385641#15385641
    From http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1212 :
If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not be present.

I have the serial number & the MEID.  Now what do I with this information?  I do not remembe the passcode to my lock screen

The serial and other ID numbers are of no use in a situation where you forgot the passcode.

Connect your phone to your syncing computer and run iTunes. Then restore your phone. Hopefully you'll remember your Apple ID and password.

My ipod needs a passcode to unlock it. I do not remember the passcode.

Yes, but then you can restore from a backup and get all of your data back. Unfortunately, this also puts the passcode back which sort of defeats the purpose. However, you can just sync all of your data to itunes and then restore and sync again. So you will lose stuff like your settings and app data but you won't lose stuff like music movies, apps, etc.

HELP.  I'm trying to use my old iPhone 4 on my iHome speakers and I do not remember my passcode

iTunes has a nasty habit of deleting the previous backup every time it does a backup. If you really have an old backup intact, there is a way to restore from it. I forget the procedure, but I'm sure you can Google it. It's a good idea to manually go into your backup directory and manually copy it over to a new name once in a while. That way iTunes won't touch it, and you can use it in an emergency such as yours.
Here's a website that describes how to do it:

  • I do not remember my passcode to reset all my settings or delete apps. does anyone know what i can do, i do not remember my passcode to reset all my settings or delete apps. does anyone know what i can do

Can some one help? i dont remember my passcode to be able to rset all my settings and delete apps what can i do.

If you mean that you forgot the restrictions Passcode, typically you have to restore the device as new in order to get rid of the Passcode. If by some chance you have a backup that does not contain the password, you can restore from that backup to remove the Passcode.
I found this in another discussion a whole back and I keep it handy in case someone wants to try it. I have never down this but it worked for a couple of users that were involved in the discussion. All of the copy under the Reset Restrictions Passcode, is another user's word, not my own.
    Reset restrictions Passcode
    1. Download iPhone Backup Extractor http://supercrazyawesome.com/ (This is for OSX, if you are using Windows there are other Backup Extractor programs although my iPhone syncs with a Mac so you will have to tweak these directions to work with the Windows program, here is one of the Windows programs I found: http://www.iphonebackupextractor.com/)
    2. Extract the Zip file you downloaded, move the App to your Applications folder, then run the App
    3. Click on Read Backups, in the window that pops up click on the backup file of the device you need the lost pin for, then click Choose
    4. You will have a list of all the Apps on the phone. Scroll to the bottom of the list and click on iOS Files, then click on Extract. Choose a folder where you want the files to be extracted to.
    5. After it finishes extracting go to the folder where you extracted the files and follow this directory path: iOS Files --> Library --> Preferences
    6. In that folder find the file "com.apple.springboard.plist" and open it. (Read note below if on Windows)
    7. In Property List Editor look for the key titled "SBParentalControlsPin"
    8. Look to the right of that entry and you will see the 4 digit PIN. You can now remove/modify parental controls
(NOTE: If you are on Windows and do not have a program that will read PLIST files then open the file with Notepad instead. It will mostly look like garbled junk and words running together but towards the end of the file look for 4 successive digits, if there is more than one place with 4 successive digits then try them all, one of them will be your pin).

  • HT1212 i do not know my passcode

I do not know my passcode so I cannot use my Iphone.  I don't know what to do next.

That's good advice. The link you provided was what the OP was reading when submitting the question. So, to be clear, what is described in that article is the ONLY way to remove the passcode. There are 2 choices:
Restore iOS using the last iTunes that the phone synced to. This will restore the backup and remove the passcode.
Restore iOS as New using Recovery Mode (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808). This will erase the phone; you will lose all data on it.
Further, if it has iOS 7 installed you will need the passcode of the Apple ID the phone is registered to. Without this the phone will be a permanent brick.

I cannot gain entry into the I-Pad after the upgrade to ISO-7.  I provided a passcode when the upgrade was complete prior to the holidays.  I only use the I-Pad for educational purposes.  However, after returning to class, I tried to enter the passcode that I thought I created and was denied access.  Now, the I-Pad displays the message:  iPad is disabled connect to I-Tunes.  I cannot connect or access any information on the I-Pad.  Can anyone assist in attempting to reset the passcode?

You may have to do this several times.
Saw this solution on another post about an iPad in a school environment. Might work on your iPad so you won't lose everything.

‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
    1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
    2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
    3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
    4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
    5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
    6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
    7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
    8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just canceling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Try it and good luck. You have nothing more to lose if it doesn't work for you.
     Cheers, Tom
