Not that I know of. The screen-lock passcode is a very very good cecurity feature.

Connect the iOS device to your computer and try to make a backup.

Then restore via iTunes. Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode if necessary to allow the restore.
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

When you restore from a Time Machine back up you can pick and chose what is restored. It is not an all or nothing process. Nor do you have to do the partial restores all at the same time. If days after the first partial restore you find something else you want you can restore just that.

What if i dont want to 'restore' my ipod??help!

I usually use my ipod on my dad's imac, but now want to use it on my own pc, on which i have itunes. I keep getting a message telling me i need to update my ipod, but it will only give me the 'restore' option, which will erase all my music from my ipod. Sorry no. But, if you restore it on the PC, you can use it on both. I suggest you restore on the pc, connect to the iMac, transfer over all your songs on to the iPod under "my computer " or the OSX equvilant and copy them on to the windows PC. Then use iTunes to copy all your songs onto the iPod.

iCloud will still work for free, i.e sync your contacts between ios devices and the cloud (icloud.com) but for the calendar and addresses to sync with a windows PC you will need outlook 2007+.
However as you dont use that part at the moment i'm sesning no great loss - icloud bookmarks and photo stream will sync with a windows pc without outlook so the rest of icloud will still work for you for free

HT201210 Ipod told me to connect to itunes because it was disabled. Now it's telling me to put in the passcode before I can use it with iTunes. I just want to restore my ipod. I have also tried recovery mode.

I forgot my password to my ipod touch and locked it out. It told me to connect to iTunes and I did. I put it in recoery mode and started the 5 hour download of the restoring process. I tried it many times it always ends up stopping and an error occurs. Now iTunes is telling me I have to put in my password for my ipod before iTunes can use it and recognize it. But my ipod is still telling me to connect it to iTunes and I just want to restore my ipod.

Try Recovery Mode a few more times.
1. Disconnect the USB cable from the device, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
3.While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.
4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen. When this screen appears, release the Home button. iTunes should alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode. Click OK, and then click Restore to restore the device.
Note: Data will be lost. You may have to repeat the above many times.
