HT1212 I entered an email address on new IPOD touch before I registered it with gmail and the email I entered was already taken...how can I change this?

I enetered an Apple ID before I made sure that it was available on gmail...now the email I entered for apple ID is not available but already used at apple ID..How can I change this??? Any help appreciated!

Go to Settings>General>Reset>Erase all content and settings and then start over.
If you are setting it via wifi aand have not cmpleted then
- Reset the iOS device.
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

Last:
Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

Contact your carrier and make sure that your account is properly set up for texting.

As far as I know the language of the two stores on the iPad (iTunes and the App Store) can't be changed - they should be in the language of the country where your account is based (if they aren't correct then try logging out of your account by tapping on your id in Settings > Store and then log back in).

I know it sounds weird, and that is the reason I posted my question. Because my case is not like all the ones I've found online and it's confusing. I added a screen capture of my itunes with my old iphone (the one that houses my playlists) connected to it.
My playlists "ARE" in my iphone 4s. They are still there even though they do not show up when I plug in to itunes in my computer.
When connecting my phone to itunes on my macbook, the playlists do not appear anywhere in itunes. I have found my connected iphone icon, I have clicked on the arrow next to it and it does pull up the standard lists that come with the iphone/itunes: Music, Movies, TV shows, books. That's it! below that is "Genius" and below "Geniuns" is "PLAYLISTS" but the only playlist of mine that shows there is one that I created several years back titled "90's music" and that one I created it on my computer, not my phone. Under "90's music" there are also other standard playlists that itunes automatically adds.
Does anyone else have this issue or know how to get around this. I am starting to think that I am going to have to recreate these lists on my computer

Old operating systems allowed you to click on recipients when sending emails without adding a comma after each address. Now with the new and improved system, I have to stop and add a comma after each name. How can I avoid this?

With the new OSX system, whenever I send an email with multiple recipients, I need to physically add a comma after each address. I never needed to do that with all the other older systems, it was done automatically. How can I fix this frustrating glitch?

option discovered in preferences. Really this and any feature that moves deletes or edits a users data should as far as possible be OFF BY DEFAULT. It shouldn't by default and without the users specific say do this dangerous and unnecessary thing without even letting the user know what it's doing!!! And then cause me a few hours (as i'm new to mac) searching for the option so as to switch it off. If i hadn't noticed the status cage declaring that it was copying files then i might never have twigged that this insane thing was occurring. And if i hadn't of noticed i would have been left maintaining the contents of the folder i copied the files to, the folder which as far as i was informed and so believed was also the location of the music files i was playing. How does Apple justify this 'genius' piece of software non-design? Surely it will hurt no one if this was off by default for new users - overall at least i dare say it would cause a lot less distress in the future for the unsuspecting public at large. Try tapping on the id in Settings > iTunes & App Stores on your devices (Settings > Store if they aren't on iOS 6+) and then log back in and see if that 'refreshes' the account on them.

I had the same problem last month.
The only fix was to call Apple Support. Basically, the history of the account could be followed and the hacker had changed the email address and no doubt the password of my apple id. The account also showed purchases in £ so I suspect the associated country been changed as well? Apple support blocked his associated credit card, restored the account back to a date where I had last used it and we then changed the Apple ID to a new email address. I could have used the old Apple ID, effectively regaining control of it, but I wasn't attached to it and it enhanced security by changing it.
Scared myself last night as my daughetrs iphone had been associated with the old ID and she couldn't access the icloud acocunt. I'd manged to restore her iphone, although it was asking for the passowrd of the hacked Apple ID, I used the password for the 'new' ID (just the old one with a changed email) and it worked. Even after restoring the iphone, I still had to change my 'new' apple id back to the 'old' email so she could sign out of the 'old' icloud account on her phone after the restore and disable 'find my iphone'. Only then could she add her own personal icloud account and I changed my apple id back to the new email. Confused?
Point is, you will need apple support to regain control of your apple id. If you're not attched to it and want a new or modified apple id, make sure you sign out of all assoicted devices first!

The only way that I know currently know of to remove old or incorrect email addresses from the Mail app is to reset the iPad back to factory defaults, which I assume that you don't want to to. You could try leaving feedback for Apple and maybe one day we'll day be able to edit them : http://www.apple.com/feedback/ipad.html#ipad

1. What version of the Mac OS are you running (Apple > About this Mac)?
2. What version of the iOS are you running (Settings > About)?
3. Do you use MobileMe/ iCloud or another server based sync solution like Google or Yahoo?
4. Do other changes to synced information like Address Book content sync successfully back and forth?
Based on your description it sounds like you have a 1 way sync issue. Events sync fine between the iOS devices and fine from the computer to the iOS devices but not from the iOS devices to the computer.

Google them to confirm the settings that you need for the outgoing server, then check the setting you entered on the pad. Pay real close attention to the outgoing server name, and port. You may need to change in on the pad.
