You can't bypass it, you will need to connect iPad to a computer's iTunes, and you may need to put it into recovery mode : http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1808 - you should then be able to reset the iPad, which will remove all content from it.
You haven't been backing up to the cloud either, and/or keeping copies of important documents/files elsewhere e.g. on your email account, Dropbox etc ?

I have never synced my contacts with iTunes

....so now I have lots of contacts on my iPhone 3GS but unsure as to how to transfer these successfully onto iTunes without wiping them from the phone.

Simple answer, you do not.
iTunes is a media management application, not a contact management application.
It is possible to use iTunes to sync contacts between an iDevice and a supported application on the computer.
I would recomend reading the manual, it provides details on syncing contacts.

I don't see an issue, but if you mean why didn't you get most of your memory back you need to see what else is using storage. Go to Settings/General/Usage. Wait a bit for it to calculate storage allocation, then when it finishes you can see how much storage each app uses.

Sorry no, if you don't knnow the encrypted password, then you can't use that backjup.

If the Device is disabled and you have No Backup... all you can do is Restore using iTunes on your Computer and then Re-Sync your Content.
The Restore will Erase all Data.

hello Elainef, if you are missing toolbar buttons you can go into firefox customization mode and place them where you'd like to have them. in there it's also possible to enable/disable toolbars like the menu bar:

Our I tunes is not allowing us to sync and update our music on any ipod. We can see our songs in music library but as soon as we plug ipod in to sync all songs have an "!" is next to them and it erased our ipods. How do you fix this?

We can see our music in the library of our I~tunes account but we can not click on a song to listen to it. As soon as we do an "!" comes up beside it. And we tryed to sync our ipods... as soon as we plugged them in they are recognized but they erased our ipods and an "!" was put beside each song. We can sign out and leave itunes and when we get back on our account our songs are there with NO "!".(until we plug an ipod in again) WHAT IS GOING ON!!!???

When I use find file http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/30073/find-file (which does tend to find files that "Finder" can't), it's not coming up with any other itunes library files that have been modified in the past week, which I know it would have been - unfortunately, I don't have a very recent backup of the hard drive. It would be a few months old so it wouldn't have the complete library on it....any ideas? I was just wondering if there was a way for me to restore from iCloud backup without restoring the device itself again.

I had restored my iPod touch 4th generation this morning and accidently hit set up as new device. Is there a way where I can take everything from iCloud and put it back on my device without restoring again? Thanks.

Back ups can only be used to restore the phone as a whole, you cannot selectively restore from a back up.

TS1436 I have Windows 8 and the latest iTunes software. Whenever I try to burn a CD, I get error code 4310. I have never had an issue with iTunes before. I need help.

I have tried to burn playlists on to multiple CDs and every time it gives me this error code (4310). This is a mjor setback. There's no reason I shouldn't be able to burn discs.

Try HT203242: iTunes for Windows: Optical drive is no longer recognized, or "Disc burner or software not found" alert after install.
