HT1212 I have followed the instructions to place the device in recovery mode to try and restore it, but Itunes is telling me that it has detected that the ipad needs the passcode and so it just keeps saying ipad is disabled on the screen of the ipad?

My Ipad just keeps showing ipad is disabled even after I have followed the apple instructions for an ipad that has not been synced with itunes.
Please help.

You can try resetting your iPad by simultaneously pressing and holding the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons until you see the Apple Logo. This can take up to 15 seconds so be patient and don't release the buttons until the logo appears.
Try again to see if the problem persists.

1. Make sure that you do not have a stalled download in iTunes - a song or podcast .... if you have a download in there that did not finish, complete that one first. Only one thing can download at a time on the iPad so that could be what is causing the problem.
2. If that doesn't work - sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
Settings>Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go back to Settings>Store>Sign in and then try to update again. Tap one waiting icon only if necessary to start the download stream.
3. You can also try deleting the waiting icons - tap and hold down on an icon until it wiggles - the tap the X on the icon to delete it. Then try to download again.
4. You can try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your app preferences and device settings again.
5. Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons

After updating iTunes to 11.0.1.12 and updating Apple TV to 5.1.1 my Apple TV is no longer picking up my photo library. It just keeps saying "loading library" but never brings the pictures up. This didn't happen with previous versions. Any ideas?

Update on my previous comment. I have solved my issue. Issue was with Windows 7 firewall not operating correctly. I was unable to add itunes to the 'Allow programs to communicate through windows firewall'. Followed the instructions to the foot of the page, restarted PC, normal service resumed on windows firewall, added itunes to list to communicate through firewall. restarted itunes, restarted appletv, success!!!

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased. Some glitch occured and you have to restore/erse the iPod. Y will have to restore from an existing backup if y ohave one.

Hello Mubashir surf google and try pressing power and home button at the same time untill apple sign shows up and then leave it .
Otherwise surf google you mite have to edit you host file in windows , system32

Just bought a new ipod touch a month ago. Went into itunes to burn music and had an update to download which I did. Then I get a message that my ipod has gone into recovery mode. It's locked up with a black screen with iTunes logo and picture of a plugin on the screen. Tried to restore it as recommended but itunes said this device isn't eligible for the requested build. Error codes 3194 and 17. This is very frustrating considering the cost of the ipod and how new it is. Now what do I do? Buy another one? Can anybody fix these types of things? I can find the multiple version including the most recent version using the Search, however, they show up in the same directory even though Finder only shows a single copy. I am able to save and then overwrite in order to restore but this is strange. There is no chance that another user here has done any sort of system restore action (at least intentionally).

In a OS Extended (HFS) file system there is no way you can have two files with identical names in the same directory.
Of course who knows what spotlight is thinking of most of the time when it does its stupid searches (get Find any File instead) and lists its results? Are you sure it is listing the same directory or do you have a backup and it is finding it there and you aren't noticing it is two different volumes?
You could also try reindixing the volume. Add it to the Spotlight system preferences Privacy and then remove it.

Why does it just keep saying "Downloading Firefox" for hours?

I am downloading from Explorer. It just keeps saying Downloading Firefox after I double click on the installer. It goes on for hours and hours. It is ironic that it tells me that "you're about to enjoy the very latest in speed, flexibility and security so you're always in control." Please help.

I just purchased new shuffle thinking my old one was done (battery, etc...it was old). plugging in the new shuffle yielded the same loop message "ITunes detected device in recovery mode, you must restore this ipod before it can be used with Itunes".

I'm having the same loop message appear when trying to sync my new Ipod Shuffle "Itunes has detected a device in recovery mode. You must restore this device before it can be used w/ Itunes".
I've restored several times but it keeps looping back to the same message. Turns out this message appeared with my last shuffle and I thought possibly the shuffle battery was depleted and it was time to get a new one.

If you restore from backup.
You should have made sure that everything was on your computer bef ore updating anyway. Did you fail to do that?
All pics taken with iphone should be imported to your computer regularly as you would with any digital camera, most especially before any update/restore/etc. Did you fail to do that?
