I have purchased new iphone 3gs, its usb cable and charger not working.When I plugged in usb cable to my laptop it says"usb power hub exceeded". When I use another cable I have, it works fine.But the original one not working.Any help?
Are you connecting your iPhone directly to your PC or to a USB hub?

that happened to mine but my battery had exploded so just check if your hasnt you tell by taking the screen off the battery should be straight if not its exploded.

What do you mean how can you unlock it? If it was truly "sim-free" it would not have locked when you updated.
ONLY the carreir the phone is locked to can authorize unlocking it. Contact them if you haven't managed to brick it entirely now. -

Sorry, but Apple does not provide a downgrade path for iOS.
Because downgrading is unsupported by Apple we cannot discuss it on these forums, but you can use Google to find information on how to install an older version of iOS on any device.

You can try to press the home button and power button and hold them for around 15-20 seconds. This will perform a soft reset similar to pulling the battery. If that doesn't help you may need to restore it.

The phone was fully charged when I restored it but now refuses to charge past the red battery icon. I have been able to get the phone in UFD mode several times and have been able to load the new OS on the phone. The Apple logo does come on and the software fully loads. iTunes tells me the phone will restart but never does. I left it to charge all night but it never appeared to load the battery. This morning I went to the Grand Central Terminal apple store for help. A woman at the store plugged the phone in but it never charged. She absolutely refused to believe that I got my phone in UFD mode and loaded any software on. I don't think it is a battery issue. The only solution I was given was to buy a new phone. Repairing it was out of the question. At this point the phone is completely useless. Thanks in advance for the help.

Just read that someone had the same problem on 3gs and someone had replied to press the home button and power button at same time, so I tried this and within a few seconds my phone had switched itself back on.

I backup my boss iphone to my pc, i copy the backup file to his PC, can he restore the backup to his iphone using his pc and will not reset his iphone. Thanks so muchPut the device in DFU mode and restore.
When he gets back to the computer that he normally syncs with, he can restore from his backup. Everything since that last backup will be lost.
Start apologizing now... keep it up for a few months to several years.
Then hopefully you will learn to leave other peoples stuff alone.
