HT1212 I know my password, but my ipad doesnt accept it. Even to restore it, it asks for the password. What do I do? What happened?
I read the other threads. I cant restore my ipad because it asks for the passcode. I know my passcode, but all of the sudden my ipad no longer accepts it.
Hi,
My ipad always worked great. I came back from vacation and the "enter your password" screen is different. I entered my password and it doesnt work. It is the correct password because it is the same as my iphone, which is working fine.
I just need to be able to use my ipad. I figured if I restored it, it would let me enter a new password or disable the feature all together. However, i cannot chnge any settings or even restore it because it asks for me to enter the ipad password.
Help?

i forgot my security questions and i want to buy something but i cant because it keeps asking for the questions what do i do?
You need to ask Apple to reset your security questions; ways of contacting them include clicking here and picking a method for your country, phoning AppleCare and asking for the Account Security team, and filling out and submitting this form.

Trying to login to the App Store and it keeps asking me to answer security questions but when I try to do so the page just goes blank to white and then disappear . By this point I am already successfully logged in.
Please help.Rescue email address and how to reset Apple id sec. questions.

If that doesn't work and your verify the following info, call 1-800-APL-CARE.
1. apple id username, that is not locked or disabled.
2. serial number of an apple product registerd in your name
3. Billing info associated with your account -
I'm getting so tired of this.
Any ideas on what to do ?You won't be able to change your rescue email address until you can answer 2 of your questions, you will need to contact iTunes Support / Apple to get the questions reset.
Contacting Apple about account security : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5699
When they've been reset you can then use the steps half-way down this page to update your rescue email address for potential future use : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5312 -

Hi, I purchased an ipad from a private party a while back. The Ipad was working properly until today my daughter scew up the password and it now locked. I did a restore to the Ipad. But I could not set it up. Cause it kept asking for the previous owner id. And I now don't have the previous owner number. Is there a way that I could set up Without his ID?
Cancel the sale, return it to the original owner temporarily, and tell him to take the device and its purchase receipt to a physical Apple Store.

I restored my ipad but i was unable to activate it because it is askimg me for the apple id and password eith which i originally set it up. I know the apple id although i do not remember ever using it but i cannot remember the password. I have tried everything from reserting my password to trying different passwords but it asks me for a custom question that i dont remember creating.
You need to use Apple's iForgot service or contact their Account Security team.

I updated my ipad but had to skip the update to the icloud because it was not finished within 2 hours. The ipad worked fine then, but I turned it off. When I tried to turn it on again, it kept asking for the password over and over. What do I do now?

‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just cancelling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.

Try it and good luck. You have nothing more to lose if it doesn't work for you.

I've got a new Apple ID but can not change anything on my phone, my old Apple ID is connected to icloud but is not letting me delete it without a password! But I do not know this password what can I do?
If the old ID is an earlier version of your new ID, you need to temporarily recreate your old ID by going to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your new iCloud ID. Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change. You can now use your new password to turn off Find My iDevice on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll. When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address back to the way it was. Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.
Note: this will not work if your new ID is an entirely new ID that was never previously associated with the old email address. -
I did set up the password when I got the phone and iPad months ago but never turned it on. Now it is asking for the passwords for both my iPhones and iPad and I cannot select not the have the passwords active.
If you do not want to use passcodes, why don't you just go to Settings > General > Passcode Lock and delete the passcode and set the lock to OFF. That will eliminate the problems all together.

I am trying to restore my Ipad 2 from iCloud but at a certain point I am asked for the password for ******** even though the account I am trying to restore is ********. I have checked all my account setting and cant see where that email address comes from. Has anyone else had this problem? Has my account been hacked?

Could the purchase have been made using a different Apple account? If so, you may need to contact Apple to find out how to transfer it to the iPad's account.

Having lost my password, et al., I obtained a new one successfully, but now when I tried to make a purchase, I was asked for my Security Code. How do I obtain a new Security Code since I have lost all my iPad documentation? Thank you, Dzurek123
That refers to the 3 digit security code on the back of your credt card, not a security code for the iPad.

Every time I open my email on my iPad, I'm asked to enter the password for my old address. I have deleted that account, but I'm still asked for the password. What to do?
You cannot change your Apple ID. You can get a new one if you want, but all of your Apps and media are linked to yoru old Apple ID. And no, Apple won't transfer your old ID purchases to yoru new ID.
