First, you have to un-disabled it: iOS: Forgotten passcode or device disabled after entering wrong ...
Then, you can restore from a backup, but if the passcode was part of the encrypted backup, the same passcode will go right back on the device.

Oh thank you. Only thing is I have no backup, so i'd prefer to wait if there is a 24 hour lock out... Someone told me they thought there was, and I can't find anything on google to tell me how many attempts you get and how long you get locked out for each time. A friend made me a new passcode when under the influence and now after thinking about it remembers what he changed it to

Received an authorized unlock code from apple/AT&T for my off-contract 3GS (8GB). Per the “Completing Authorized iPhone Unlock” instructions, I connected to iTunes to back up and restore so my iPhone can be unlocked! But after the restore my iPhone is stuck at the activation screen, it will not activate saying “Your iPhone cannot be activated because the activation server is temporarily unavailable”. I got like the same problem, last days I get message to restore my iPhone, so I did it yesterday and it work very well. In the afternoon I saw that at top in the left corner show invaild sim card or so (only knew the german version). so I restore it again but now it won`t activate after I enter SIM-PIN and it accept it, it shows "No Service".
Anybody can help? My Carrier is o2 Germany.

I was just wondering if I can use time capsule with my iphone for both back up and to access the hard drive on the capsule?
I don't think backup is supported but you may be able to access the TC's internal drive, from the iPhone, with an application like: NetPortal
Note: I haven't actually tried this app, so if someone else has and was successful in accessing the TC's drive they can certainly chime in.
Follow-up. Just downloaded and installed this app ... and I can now verify that it, indeed, can access both my TC's internal and externally attached USB HDD. -
When I power up the Ipad Mini and type in the password there is no enter key. It is labelled DONE. The next thing I see is that the Ipad is disabled and I can't get it enabled.

You need to use the backup of your PC to transfer all the music files to iTunes on the Mac.
If you have no backup then you have a difficult task ahead of you as iTunes will only allow you to sync purchased music from the iPhone back into iTunes. Any music you loaded into iTunes yourself will not transfer from the iPhone to iTunes, this is to prevent stealing of music. To sync iTunes purchased music from the iPhone to iTunes, connect the iPhone and open iTunes, but when asked do NOT sync the device. then right click on the iPhone in the iTunes source list and select the 'Transfer Purchases' option, you will also find this commend in the File menu.
If you are in the US, you can use the new iTunes in the Could feature to redownload your iTunes purchased music / apps / books for free.
If you want to transfer all the content from your iPhone to you Mac then you will need to use Google to find a 3rd party piece of software that will do this for you. -

I meant reset then try the recovery mode restore again.
You can also try DFU Mode.
DFU (Device Firmware Update) Mode is different than Recovery Mode.
DFU Mode is a special mode where the device can still interface with iTunes, yet it does not load the iBoot bootloader.
DFU Mode:
Plug your device into your computer.
Turn off the device.
Hold the Power button for 3 seconds
Hold the Home button without releasing the Power button for 10 seconds
Release the Power Button but keep holding the Home button
Keep holding the Home button until you are alerted by iTunes saying that it has detected a device in Recovery Mode
NOTE: Make sure the device screen is blank and no logos are present. Be patient, it make take several trys. -

I had the same Issue on a 5 i bought. Exact same screen and writing. Battery was totally drawn, first thing I had to replace. The screen had been replaced and since then it wouldn't work anymore according to the previous owner.
It took me a couple hours, after recieving a few errors like 4013 it just never completed the restore, got really hot as well. The Flexwire of the Dock Connector seemed damaged, replaced the dock, but that didn't help.
I almost gave up, thought the Logic Board was bad.
BUT! Then i deceided to check if it has anything to do with the Screen assembly, and it did.
Long story short, on mine the front facing camera, and sensor assy were bad.
Anyhow, the phone works ''perfect'' when i leave them unplugged. So I just ordered a new one and we will see if thats the problem or if the damage is in the Logic Board.
If so, i can live without the sensor and front cam.
Just wanted to share, good luck everyone. -

Thank you for the details of the issue you are experiencing with changing the country for the iTunes Store on your iPhone. For this issue, I recommend signing out and back into the iTunes Store on your iPhone:
Sign in with a different Apple ID
Tap Settings > iTunes & App Stores.
Tap your Apple ID.
If you see the option to Sign In, you can change your Apple ID now.
Tap Sign Out.
Enter your Apple ID and Password and tap Sign In.

If the issue persists after signing out and back in, I recommend quitting and relaunching the applications on your iPhone:

If you are still seeing the same issue after quitting and relaunching the iTunes Store app, I recommend restarting your phone and then resetting if it's still not working:
How to restart
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button on the top of your device until the red slider appears. Then drag the slider to turn your device completely off.
After the device turns off, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button again until you see the Apple logo.
How to reset
You should reset your device as a last resort and only if you can't restart it.
To reset, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons for at least 10 seconds, until you see the Apple logo.
