Sorry, just getting back. Since it is a used phone, you may have to contact the prior owner to see if they cleared their Apple ID and passcode. You could not force it into recovery mode? I have an iPhone 4 and my home and lock button stopped working today randomly at the same time. I have had assistive touch set up for a while but that also won't work. Is there anything I can do to fix this?

Disabled
Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

Ok I have been searching the web for last 3 hours try to help my cousin who finally after a year her dad got her a phone from verizon and well she got an Iphone; only to discover that somehow either she or someone in her house put a passcode on her phone. Then to make matters worse she kept trying to unlock it until it now reads "Iphone disabled connect to Itunes" unfortunately she has no computer or an itunes account as well as many searches I have found that maybe even the advice of the verizon store that connecting to itunes will not help with the passcode enabled as well and worse she has not even synced it to a computer she only got it yesterday afternoon. I have walked her thru every possible hard reset, unlock, re-enable option I could find and I have not been the only one her roommate as well and still nothing. Ideas real answers please someone HELP us!

You will have to restore the phone and set up as New. See: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1212. The part you need is near the bottom, "If you have never synced your device with iTunes...". You will lose any content that is not backed up in iCloud.

My iPhone 5 keeps freezing when I connect to wifi, not just freeze the wifi, but freezes the whole phone and have to hold home and lock button. Locks up completely and instantly when I turn on wifi and connect. Solutions?
1. If you are really on iOS 7.1, you may wish to try upgrading to 8.1.2 which is the latest (basing this on your signature).
2. If updating the phone doesn't help, is this only when you connect to a specific wifi network? Or all wifi networks (including public with no password)? If it is ALL wifi networks, you may have a hardware problem. Genius bar would be the next step.

I have reset my iphone 5c and now it has the apple logo on the screen. Nothing is happening, apart from the screen going off for a few seconds, only to go back to black screen and white apple log. I have tried holding home and lock buttons for 10 seconds, but to no avail. I did a reset on settings as the IOS 8 was just slowing down my phone horrendously. How do i sort this please ?

Is it the Home button that doesn't work, or the Power (Sleep/Wake) button? If the Power button works, you can switch it off. Not sure how you have been able to do anything without the Home button working?
