Restore, if iTunes will let you. Everything except the password will be restored. Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. Be forewarned that it takes a long time. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod. As before, say "yes." Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time. If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device. Corrective action is simple - choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased. That is how it works

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

If problem what happens or does not happen and when in the instructions? When you successfully get the iPod in recovery mode and connect to computer iTunes should say it found an iPod in recovery mode.

Lost password of iPod back up encryption

I lost the password of the encription of the backup of my iPod, how can I recover it or start again without a password?

As I said, without knowing the passcode for the encrypted, there is no way to ure/restore from an encrypted backup. Yu can continue to use the iPod and back it up but you can't use the encrupted backups without the passcode. If you want to be ablt to use a backup again yu have to retore the iPod to factory defaults/new iPod and forget about the enscfrpted backup.
The encrypted backup is a good security feature.
"Warning: If you encrypt an iPhone backup in iTunes and then forget your password, you will not be able to restore from backup and your data will be unrecoverable. If you forget the password, you can continue to back up and use the device, however you will not be able to restore the encrypted backup to any device without the password. You do not need to enter the password for your backup each time you back up or sync."

I have bought a new ipad mini retina display, not used it at all and the passcode that i am entering is wrong for some reason.It now says ipad disabled, connect to itunes. i have never sync with any devices before and not used it there before .I did register it under my name and icloud. i cant open the ipad at all. what to do. ‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just cancelling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.

Hi,
I have to apple accounts, one for Mexico, where I live, and one for the US Store, where I made some purchases.
I just bought a new computer and would like to transfer all of my iTunes related files to the new computer. However, I do not remember my password for the US store. Since I created it several years ago, the email that I submitted when I created the account is no longer valid. So, it is no use to send me an email to that address to reset the password of my US account because that email address does not work any longer.
I have tried answering the security sessions instead, but even though I am positive that I am submitting the correct answers, I get a message claiming that my answers do not match the ones Apple has on record. So....
What can I do to retrieve my password and have access to the files that were purchased in the US store?

Thanks for your reply. I tried following that link, but I didn't get anywhere. It gave me the same two options to reset my password:
a) Email a link to an account that no longer exists
b) Security questions, which for some reason did not work.
So I am basically stuck in the same place: I cannot access my US iTunes account.

If it's your personal WiFi network the default password should be on a sticker somewhere on the router. If you have changed the password log in to the management console on the router, which you would know how to do as it's necessary to change the password. If it is not yours you will have to ask the network administrator.

Boot Camp is not an App, it does nothing except create a partition for Windows to be installed in. Windows does have a password.
I know of no way to recover a Boot Camp password (because there isn't one) If it is the Windows password then Microsofts forums will probably be better for Windows problems.

If you have the serial codes, there are internet services that can notify you when it's connected (as long as that computer is connected tot he internet) and then lock it down.
Also, the engraving will have no effect whatsoever if you recover it...

The iPhone may have an incorrect password saved for the network. Try making the iPhone forget the network, Goto Settings> Wi-Fi> tap the blue (>) next to your network> Forget this Network.
