HT1212 My Ipad 2 has a rising gray block repeating on the screen, and nothing else
I'm trying to restore my ipad, which suddenly began only displaying a gray block which rises from the bottom of the screen to about halfway before repeating, while the rest of the screen is dark. I can't access anything or enter my passcode since the screen does not display any field or discernable keypad any longer, so I can't do a restore from iTunes, since the last computer I synced with is long gone and every new one demands I enter the passcode on the device itself. How do I fix this?
Tried a reset?
Reset the device:
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
Otherwise, it's probably time to take the iPad in for service > Apple - Find Locations

Sounds like a hardware failure. Make an appointment at an Apple Store to have your device examined by a technician. Or contact Apple Support.

UPdate the iPad wjith new iOS upgrade that where shown under settings on the iPad, but after I did the upgrade the screen has only shown the apple and I can't get back. The update is iOS 8.1.3 not iOS 8.3.
Have you tried resetting your iPad?
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10-15 seconds).

I tried to update to IOS6 and then it asked me to connect to itune. The I got an error message when I restore my phone. right afte the phone crashed. When I tried to restart the phone with pressing the button on the top and the navigating botton for a few second, all came up was a blank blue screen. Please help!

Does your device have a full charge? Often if you give it a full charge, that will fix the problem
If that doesn't work, plug it into itunes and run any updates that may be available.

FORCE IPAD INTO RECOVERY MODE
1. Turn off iPad
2. Turn on computer and launch iTunes (make sure you have the latest version of iTune)
3. Plug USB cable into computer's USB port
4. Hold Home button down and plug the other end of cable into docking port.
DO NOT RELEASE BUTTON until you see picture of iTunes and plug
5. Release Home button.
ON COMPUTER
6. iTunes has detected iPad in recovery mode. You must restore this iPad before it can be used with iTunes.
7. Select "Restore iPad"...
Note:
1. Data will be lost if you do not have backup
2. You must follow step 1 to step 4 VERY CLOSELY.
3. Repeat the process if necessary. -
After updating to 8.1.2 my iPad continues to restart. I tried resetting all the settings and this didn't work. I tried rebooting by holding the start button & power button and it didnt work either. The problem has actually worsened. I can no longer use my iPad.
You need to restore the iPad.

First thing to try is a reboot of your iPad. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously ignoring the red slider until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the iPad restart. See if that fixes your problem.
