Sorry you can't unlock it from the computer. As you already know you need to enter your passcode.

You don't actually swap the SIM card. For some reason, AT&T doesn't like you to do it that way.

You get this info from the iPad (1 or 2) select 'Settings' then 'General' then 'About'...
The IMEI and ICCID info is on that screen. No need to swap the SIM cards. This process outlined above transfers service instantly and does NOT change the plan type, billing, user info, or days remaining. Basically anytime an ATT customer wants to move a data plan the ATT iPad web page is all you need. No phone call!

I would first make sure all updates have been processed for the computer and iTunes. You may need to place the device in recovery mode before iTunes will recognize the device. Here is the article that explains that process.

Have you tried to sync music to the iPod via the iPod subdirectory of iTunes? To do this, plug your iPod into your computer, go into iTunes, click on the iPod tab, click on 'Music' in the iPod subdirectory and select whether you want to sync your whole iTunes library or just selected songs and press sync.
Alternatively, have you tried manually transferring music onto the iPod using the 'drag and drop' method? To do that, go into iTunes with your iPod connected, click on the iPod tab, in the iTunes iPod Classic subdirectory click on the 'Summary' tab, then tick the box saying 'Manually manage music' and click save. Then, in the same subdirectory click on the 'On this iPod' tab and click on Music. Then, select the songs you want to transfer either in Finder or Windows Explorer, select the songs you want to copy to the iPod and drag them to the blank list in the 'On this iPod' area of iTunes you just opened.

Syncing on WiFi can only be enabled while the device is connected to the computer with iTunes (1st time). You need to look at "device not recognized" in iTunes.

Can't get Sim Card out of new iPhone 6; Can't activate phone...

I'm unable to activate my new iPhone 6 because I can't remove the Sim Card despite several minutes of trying. First major fail… Can anyone offer some additional tips. It didn't come with a pin for this purpose. I'm using a paper clip.

You can visit an Authorized Apple Service Provider or Apple Store and ask them to do that for you. Your device is still under warranty and they'll be happy to help you.

So I have an Iphone 4s and I had the same problem with it and solved it by the "verify that the apple mobile device usb driver is installed". It wasn't installed and I installed it by the steps and now it works.
Tried to do the same to my Ipod nano 6th, and when I'm trying to install the driver (as I did with the Iphone, and as it says in the troubleshooting) I get the next message: "the folder you specified doesn't contain a compatible software driver for your device. If the folder contains a driver, make sure it is designed to work with windows for 64x-based systems".
I did tried all the other steps as well and nothing worked. I guess the problem is with the driver (as I had the same problem exactly with my Iphone), but it doesn't say in the troubleshooting what to do with this error message.

ITunes won't recognize my devices

Brand new (today) iPad2 3G 64g, month old Toshiba laptop. New installation of iTunes. iPad (and iPhones) recognized by the computer, but don't show up in iTunes. Ran the troubleshooter, to no avail. Looks like this is a common problem. Any help out there?

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

Today, I had my Iphone 5c replaced after having issues with the software on my previous iphone 5c. I'm trying to put the data that was on my previous phone back onto my new replacement but Itunes won't recognize my device. I have tried getting the data back on my phone using Icloud but the backup data that is for my Iphone can't be selected as the backup data requires software that is ios 7.1 or later (or something like that). I have selected the option of "set up as new iphone" and just downloaded the software update but I don't know how to get back to the screen that shows the icloud backups.
I have also tried all the recommended things for when the device cannot be detected with itunes (ex. reinstalling itunes, restarting apple mobile device support< ect.)
If you can help with how I can get my itunes to recognize my iphone or how i can set up with icloud after selecting "set up as new iphone" that would be great

Set the phone up as a new phone. Then update the iOS to 7.1. After the update is complete restore your phone from your backup.

Try this, hold the middle button and the menu button for 10 seconds while it is plugged into the computer. See if it will come back to life. You may have to try this several times. Give it a try.
