My iPod is locked for 22 Million minutes and i cannot use recovery mode because my home button is broken and the screen doesn't respond to any touches or swipes. What should i do?
Place the iPod in recovery mode using one of these programs and then restore via iTunes:

‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just cancelling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.

My ipod comepletly froze and ive googled and youtubed ways to fix it! its on recovery mode and when i hold the home and power button it shows the apple button for a second and then it shows recovery mode again! i need help i DONT wanna restore!

Once the Device is asking to be Restored with iTunes... it is too late to save anything... and you must continue with the Recovery...

Since all of your music came from your computer in the first place, then it should still be there and should be included in your backup copy of your computer.

I'm using iPod touch for a year now. It was doing fine this morning but in the afternoon suddenly when I took it out of my bag, the screen was just black and it wouldn't turn on and stuff. So I thought it didn't have battery so I charged it didn't work. I plugged to the computer and it said iTunes has detected an iPod in recovery mode. You must restore this iPod before in can be used with iTunes.
Maybe my bag was little wet today but i don't think that is why.. since it wasn't that bed.. just some paper was wet and stuff..

I have a an iPod touch 2g which I turned off one day and it never turned on again. I plugged it into iTunes and it shows the iPod in the main window with the restore button and the check for update screen. Before I have a chance to press anything, a window pops up saying, iTunes ha detected an iPod in recovery mode. You must restore your iPod before you can use it again. When I click OK the iPod ejects so I cannot restore it. Every time it does this. Ive tried everything.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

my itunes tells me my ipod is in recovery mode and i need to restore it. when i restore it it gives me the same message. ive tried trestoring it numerous times. i dont know what to do. im an ipod junkie, and ive been without my ipod for at least 6 months now.
Make an appointment and take the iPod to your nearest Apple store now, if it's still under warranty.
This is important; did you or did you not save you downloads and do a full remove or re-install of iTunes?
If it's not then matters can get drastic (and expensive) so check that out first.

Up until last week, I have had no problems with my iPod 30gb, but last week it wouldn't turn off. I tried all the five Rs suggested by Apple and updated my iTunes, and none of them worked. Now when I connect my iPod it says that iTunes has located an iPod in recovery mode and that it needs to be restored. So I clicked on restore and it deleted all my music and pictures, and then I got the message about it being in recovery mode and needing to be restored ... and again ... and again. How can i fix this?! Please help!!!!Have you had a chance to look at this troubleshooting page? The reset link will only show if you have a rescue email address (which is not the same thing as an alternate email address) set up on your account. If you don't have a rescue email address (you won't be able to add one until you can answer your questions) then you won't get the reset option - you will need to contact iTunes Support / Apple to get the questions reset.
