If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

Try and force iPad into Recovery Mode:
    1. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
If you cannot turn off the device using the slider, press and hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time. When the device turns off, release the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons.
    2. Connect USB cable to computer, leave the other end alone
    3. Press and hold the Home button down and connect the docking end of cable to iPad
    4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect To iTune" screen
    5. Release the Home button
    6. Open iTune
    7. You should see "iTunes has detected an iPad in recovery mode"
    8. Use iTune to restore iPad
Note: You need to be patient and repeat the above many times to recover your iPad

Click here and use Apple's iForgot service, or contact their Account Security team, or if you're the device's original owner, take it and its purchase receipt to a physical Apple Store.

  • HT1212 my ipod say that it is disabled and to connect to itunes not to try again in 1 minute and it  has been doing this for almost 24 hours. what do i do?

my ipod says that it is disabled and to connect to itunes after putting in the wrong pass code.  I have logged onto itunes and still it does not change. I have no clue what to do or why my ipod is acting weird.

Have you tried placing the iPod in Recovery mode and then connecting the iPod to your computer and restoring via iTunes?

  • HT1212 I bought a Ipod 4th Gen off my friend, and its disabled. He doesnt know the passcode!

  • HT204053 I let my friend put his ipod on my itunes. I got a new iphone 5 and when i try to update apps,i put in my current apple id and then it asks for his apple id password, which i dont know and i want to get rid of his.

When i try to update my apps, it asks me to put in my password for apple id. I put in my password but then it asks for my friends password for his itunes, because i let him sync his ipod on my itunes. How do i remove his account off my itunes where i dont have to put in his password.

Also when I apply the safety copy it only imports the app the phones have had in common, so none of the apps that only the iPhone 4 had doesn't come in, only the ones I and the iPhone 4 has had in common. So you say the only way I can use the Apple ID to download on the old iPhone 4 is if I delete the apps that are in the phone and then download them again? How will that change the ID to download/update from. Won't it still have mine to update/download from?

  • Need help my ipod touch will not let me on the net iam with sky and it was working fine then a padlock appeared next to it and it keeps asking for password

You can guess the passwoard.  That is all you can do.
You can enter the router etup and change the password.  You may have to rese the whole router.  Look at/download the manual for the router to find out how to do that.

  • Ipod nano 5th gen stopped working and now is in different language, wants a passcode

I was listening to a movie when it suddenly stopped. When I looked at the ipod it was in a different language and looking for a passcode. When I plugged it into a computer I got a"usb device not recognized" error message. I've hooked it up to 2 different computers using 2 different usb cables and I still get the same results.

Search for a solution over on Knowledge Base, call U.S. iPod and Mac technical support: 1-800-APL-CARE (1-800-275-2273) and/or take a trip to your local Apple Store or AASP.
Another option is to check out the DIY iPod Repair website.

  • ICloud Restore stuck - keeps asking for old Apple ID

    Hello,
I've just gotten a iPhone 4S that I want to restore from an iCloud backup (I've had a 3GS previously). Unfortunately I'm running into problems as the restore process just doesn't finish. Some settings are restored just fine (contacts, messages, browser history, ...) while others are causing problems. In particular the photos & apps are not being downloaded. Apps are recognized but just sit on my screen "waiting".
I suspect that the cause for all this is that the last backup is from March 2012 (my 3GS died then) and in the meantime I've changed my Apple ID. During the restore it keeps asking for my old Apple ID, which is not longer active & I cannot log into.
Now I'm stuck since the phone decides to set the iCloud account to the old one and this cannot be changed as it tells me that I cannot delete the iCloud account during a restore is in progress...
Any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated! Unforunately I don't have an iTunes backup and I really don't want to lose my data (especially the photos).
    Cheers,
    Florian

The solution to fix this mess was to temporarily change my AppleID name back to the one that was active when the iCloud backup was being made.

  • HELP ASAP!! Lettered password tried first time, caused my ipod to be unrecognized by iTunes and only solution is restore, which I don't want to do!

I put in a lettered passcode recently and now it won't work anymore and iTunes could not let me type in the password and only solution is to restore it. I really do NOT want to restore it at all because I highly value the info, saved pics and links, especially the music I saved which is only on my ipod, not anywhere else, not even my computer. I am a music person and I work and live for music, and recently I saw a new kind of passcode which can be lettered instead of a 4-digit passcode, so I went ahead with it, which made me comfortable. Until I realized as soon as I clicked the top button (which just put it to sleep or off) and when I click it on, it says it has to be plugged to iTunes. I thought I would have to get home to type in my lettered passcode to get in, which I did. But when I plugged it in, there's no password needed or anything like that. iTunes won't even recognize my iPod, and the solution is to restore it, which I refuse to do, because all my work is in this iPod of mine I've had since nearly 4 years now.
PLEASE HELP ME ASAP!!!!!!! I can't live without music, I know it's hard to believe but it's true. Is there any other way I can get my iPod to work without having to restore it and lose everything I've worked for in it?? None of it is saved to any other computer or technogical device. Everything is in my iPod. Please help!! I am struggling each day without music, it's impossible, I miss music and I need to hear it, and the iPod is the only way for me to hear as of for now because I am deaf/hard-of-hearing and my hearing aids are broken, so I use the ipod everywhere I go to listen to music on my earphones/headphones, I can't carry my computer anyways, lol. Please may any of you help me solve this problem?? I will be eternally grateful! THANKS SO MUCH!!

If you are unable to enter the passcode into your device, you will have to restore the device to circumvent that passcode.
Is the music purchased from iTunes? If it is you can contact iTunes support and ask them to allow you to re-download the music that you purchased from iTunes.
Also, do you sync the device regularly? When syncing an iPod Touch/iPhone a backup file is made. That backup file doesn't contain your music but it does contain your address book, application data, pictures, notes, etc. After restoring your device, you can try restoring from the last backup that was made of your device so you will not have to start over completely from scratch.
    Hope this helps!
