    3 If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    4  Try on another computer
    5  If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

    My phone will not turn on, therefore I have received a replacement phone but am wanting to reset my old device. It is not locating it because it says it is offline however I cannot turn it on at all. Can I start with my new device and not reset the old? Any help would be greatly appreciated. It's been a week without a phone

    That does happen.  It depends on how hard the server is being hit, as well as the connection speed of your system.  If you are on a windows system, you will want to disable any antivirus or firewall software during the download.

  • My ipod says Ipod disabled connect to itunes. But when I try to connect to itunes it says I have to enter the passcode on the ipod to use itunes...any help?

    Ipod screen says Ipod disabled connect to itunes...but when I connect to itunes it says ipod is passcode protected and I must enter passcode on my ipod to continue.  But I cant enter the passcode becaue the ipod is disabled.  Brothers entered a bunch or wrong passcodes to disable so I couldn't play it.

    Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

    If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

    You may have to do this several times.
    Saw this solution on another post about an iPad in a school environment. Might work on your iPad so you won't lose everything.

    ‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
    Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
    I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
    Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
    1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
    2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
    3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
    4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
    5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
    6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
    7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
    8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just canceling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
    If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Try it and good luck. You have nothing more to lose if it doesn't work for you.
     Cheers, Tom
  • My ipod Touch is disabled and it says connect to itunes, but it says on itunes you have to enter the passcode but i forgot mine
    my ipod touch is disabled because i forgot my passcode i syncd it to itunes and now it says to enter a passcode but i dont have one.
    You should be able to reset it and then put everything back from a backup in iTunes (one you hopefully got).
    If you can't, I guess you could put it in DFU mode and try again...
    Good luck!
  • Ok so I got my mac mini today and I am trying to set it up but my wireless keyboard does not sync up. I have tried entering the code that the mini displays but still cannot get past the sync keyboard screen. Since I dont have a wired keyboard ...any ideas
    Happy Thanksgiving. Any ideas on how to sync up a brand new man mini with a wireless keyboard. My attempts at following the directions have been frustated so far. Entering the numerical code has not yet led to a successful sync up.
  • HT1212 I never connected my phone to itunes, Will i loose all my pictures if I go through the recovery process?
    I accidentally disabled my iphone and woould like to recover my pictures if possible, never been synced with itunes in the past?
    If you need to restore it, and you do not have a backup, then yes, you will loose everything that is on it.
    You need to have a backup in iTunes or iCloud to have any chance of restoring and then recovering your data.  And a backup only backs up photo's in the camera roll, not everything in all your other albums.  Those are expected to be saved on your computer somewhere.
    So if you have been taking photos, never transferred them to your computer, and never backed up, then there is no way to recover them after a restore.
    No, you do not.  It simply is not possible to have a device that does not exist.
    Most likely, you have an iPhone 4.  There is no 4G iPhone.
    Yes, it does work.  It is carrier locked to AT&T, just like all GSM iPhones sold in the US since their introduction.
    shohjahon wrote:
    How I can use this phone?
    You can use the phone as it is, but it will be very expensive with AT&T international roaming plans.
    There is no official way to unlock the phone for use with another carrier.
    Your options:
    Sell the device and purchase one intended for use in your country.
    Find unofficial method to unlock
    Use as an iPod Touch.
    No one here can provide you with assistance on getting you AT&T locked iPhone to work on another carrier.
