Iphone would not restore---- Error -50. I have tried to restore, and it restored it to the new point that it created after 5.0 was installed. How can I get it an older restore point from my backups and restore it on another computer? The phone has been wiped out. It tells you to go to Error 13 and 14 if you receive error (-50).
Here is what I have tried...
Error 13 and 14: These errors are typically resolved by performing one or more of the steps listed below:
Perform USB isolation troubleshooting, including trying a different USB port directly on the computer. See the advanced steps below for USB troubleshooting. I have moved it around to different ports.
Put a USB 2.0 hub between the device and the computer. Didn't change anything.
Try a different USB 30-pin dock-connector cable.
Eliminate third-party security software conflicts. Removed all virus protection and firewall.
There may be third-party software installed that modifies your default packet size in Windows by inserting one or more TcpWindowSize entries into your registry. Your default packet size being set incorrectly can cause this error. Contact the manufacturer of the software that installed the packet-size modification for assistance. Or, follow this article by Microsoft: How to reset Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) to reset the packet size back to the default for Windows.Used the Microsoft fix it.
Connect your computer directly to your Internet source, bypassing any routers, hubs, or switches. You may need to restart your computer and modem to get online. Doesn't matter.
Try to restore from another known-good computer and network. I do not know how to do this or how to find the correct/full/complete restore point. There should be more information for this. -
I have tried to restore my iPhone but when it has gone through all the restore I get the -1 error message and now my phone will not work at all, how do I rectify this please.

Dear all,
I have had problems with the internet connection with my IPhone 5. I have tried to restore the software to see if that would make a difference.
I have tried now for at least 10 times to restore the software. The phone is locked now in restore mode, and when I get to the end of the restore to verify with the server, i get a consistent unknown error message. Sometimes is says my phone cannot be found.
The phone has the connect to Itunes on the screen and cannot be used.
I am running out of patience now....need urgent help!!

I'm sorry to hear that your iPhone 4s was lost, and glad that you were able to upgrade.
If your iPhone 4s was backed up to iCloud or using iTunes, you can restore the backed up data to your new phone.

I tried updating iphone 6 to 8.1.3 But the phone went dead. I have tried using restore options - both update and erase, but the process stops when it tries to update Iphone firmware.
Put your phone in DFU mode,
Hold the Power Button (3 secs)
Continue holding the power button and also hold the home button (15 secs)
Release the power button while continuing to hold the home button (10 secs)
Your device should prompt with the "Connect to iTunes Screen"

You may need to try this More than Once...
But... if the Device has been Modified / Hacked / Jailbroken... this will Not necessarily work. -
one fine day yesterday, my i phone just hangup lost all contact detail. The screen only show a picture depicting cable connection to iTune. I have tried to restore iphone to factory setting but not working . May i know how to proceed to recover lost contacts.
I have taken it back to the Apple store genius bar, but they say they don't see anything wrong. Well unless you use it all day and experience the problems when they happen, you wont see anything wrong. But there are lots wrong with it. But this would be the same store as I purchased the phone. And they backed up my old Iphone 4, but were not able to get anything to load back onto my new phone. So, I lost pretty much everything. But over time, some of my contacts have started showing up, although i am still missing over 800 of them.

I have tried to restore my i phone 3gs using a USB cable connecting to itunes.The process has gone smoothley but i am now getting this message on my i phone;"your i phone could not be activated because the activation server is temporarily unavailable.Try connecting your i phone to itunes to activate it,or try again in a few minutes.I have been trying and trying again and switched off my firewall too.but still getting this message.Can anyone please advise me?That is almost always because the phone was hacked to unlock it from the original carrier.

This device is not eligible for the requested build: Also sometimes displayed as an "error 3194." If you receive this alert, update to the latest version of iTunes. Third-party security software or router security settings can also cause this issue. To resolve this, follow Troubleshooting security software issues.
Downgrading to a previous version of iOS is not supported. If you have installed software to perform unauthorized modifications to your iOS device, that software may have redirected connections to the update server (gs.apple.com) within the Hosts file. First you must uninstall the unauthorized modification software from the computer, then edit out the "gs.apple.com" redirect from the hosts file, and then restart the computer for the host file changes to take affect. For steps to edit the Hosts file and allow iTunes to communicate with the update server, see iTunes: Troubleshooting iTunes Store on your computer, iPhone, iPad, or iPod—follow steps under the headingBlocked by configuration (Mac OS X / Windows) > Rebuild network information > The hosts file may also be blocking the iTunes Store. If you do not uninstall the unauthorized modification software prior to editing the hosts file, that software may automatically modify the hosts file again on restart.
