Phone Pass Code locked and will not sync with computer. Back up and restore with itunes
Bummer because now you can not back up. But you can put the device in recovery mode and have itunes restore it. Turn the device off while the device is off hold down the home button while holding the home button down connect the cable to the phone and keep holding home button until you see itunes logo and cable image on the on the phone. Itunes will say its discovered a device in recovery mode click ok and click restore.

My iphone 4 has mild water damage. As a result, it will not sync with it's former XP computer with the cable. I deleted the phone's data in the troubleshooting process. I can tell that they are connecting in the cloud because an app I just downloaded on the phone is showing up in itunes on the computer.
You don't need to access your e-mail account, just get into your Apple account and change the e-mail address. If you can't access your Apple account, then you have a bigger issue to contend with.

Ipod will not update and will not sync with photos
I had a 5th gen 60gb ipod video that died and was switched out for a new one at the apple store. now when i plug it into my powerbook G4(667) it keep coming up with a window stating (can not update , error code -208) I've taken my ipod to apple store and it was working fine on thier machine. but can not get it working on mine. reinstalled itune, ipod up to date. it will not sync up with my photos and will not load some of my mp3 files. tech support hasn't helped much. tried few options with preference but still not working.
I just needed to move some files around!

3G Locks Up Itunes and will not sync
I have removed everything from the phone. Unchecked anything that can sync. Loaded and unloaded Itunes three times. Hard reset, soft reset. Turned off antivirus and firewalls. I'm running XP and still cannot get this phone to sync with my computer. All was good until IOS4.
I need some help in a big way.

Hopefully you were foresighted enough to keep all your music in MP3 format. Then you can burn it in either iTunes or Windows Media Player, whichever is available at the moment. -
Palm Zire 71 and Will not Sync with information on old Laptop
I can't get the Palm Zire 71 software on my old laptop to sync with my new Cradle that I bought on eBay. I get a message that says something like 'The connection between your handheld computer and the desktop could not be established. Please check your setup and try again."
All my info is on the Palm Zire software on my old computer and I want to sync and move to my new laptop. Please help!

Movie TITLE is in GRAY and will NOT SYNC with iPod
Hi Folks,
Just imported a short home movie into my Movie Folder in iTunes for Windows. It shows-up in iTunes just fine, and it PLAYS - in iTunes - just fine.
Trouble is...when I sync my U2 Video iPod, the *Title for that home movie is in gray* - not black like the others. I check the box so this movie will sync, I hit sync...and it does NOT transfer to the U2 iPod.
All other movies (titles in BLACK) transfer/sync just fine. The one in GRAY does not.
I did try the "Make an Apple Ipod Version" i.e. Convert...and the file it creates exhibits the same behavior: it shows up in my Movie folder, I can play it WITHIN iTunes for Windows, but the Title of said movie is in GRAY when I attempt to sync and it will NOT transfer. Please help! Anyone? Thanks!Hi - The first one is .mp4 and then when that didn't "sync" (but DID play in itunes) I used the itunes menu choice to "convert" to ipod use...that one came out with an .mv4 extension (both files same size and both say H.264 codec in 'info').
So,to sum-up, neither the mp4 nor the mv4 would sync to my iPod...yet both would appear - and play just fine - within itunes. Upon syncing, the title of both goes gray.

If there are any photos in the Camera Roll you will get a prompt like you mentioned when connecting your iPad to your computer. It is indeed a good reminder to save those photos to your computer. But if you don't want to copy those photos to your computer then dismiss the window and start iTunes. Once iTunes is running you should e able to sync your iPad.

The liquid damage indicators are both white... when I compared the ports on my phone and my friends phone there are no differences that I can see... And I've cross tested every cable and charger with another phone and they are all good.tom298 wrote:

My iPod Touch is not charging and will not sync with itunes
My Ipod touch was feeling really hot and then all of a sudden the screen turned white and started flashing with my apps still open but faded and unaccessible. My screen was a blurry like it looks on tv when you lose connection. Then the ipod kept making the charging noise over and over again and wouldn't charge. It then turned off. Then it put itself on the needs to be charged symbol but it was flashing and then it stopped showing up. I have tried everything-youtube, dfu mode,( it wont even sync to itunes) and it still wont turn on after hours of charging. The screen has been black for hours now. I hope somebody can help me. Thanks.
Let the battery fully drain. After charging for an hour try a reset (both buttons) and connect to computer and try to restore. If screen is still white you very likely have a hardware problems.

I channged my Appleid at appleid.com and now the phone stills shows my old id and will not let apps that require id/password prompts work.
Just scroll to the bottom of the screen in the store, log out and then login with the new ID.
As long as you changed it from the manage account option at https://appleid.apple.com/ (ie. replaced the primary email address with a new one), then all your old purchases should be fine. -

I recently had a problem with my iPhone 3G. I upgraded to OS 5.1.1. The thing crashed. I took it to the AT&T store and they cleared it of everything. So I re-installed all of my personal stuff and apps. All is again OK with the exception of the calendar. It will not sync with my home computer and is blank. How do I correct this?
What are you keeping your calendar in on your PC? Outlook?

Compaction Error when saving to disk
