My son forgot his password on his Ipod touch 3rd generation. It was previously synced on his mother's computer at her house, and we do not have access to that computer. How can he get into his device?

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

You have to restore the device within iTunes. You want to use the same computer that you always sync with so that you can restore your app data and settings. You can restore with any other computer, but you will lose everything on the iPad.

If you're having some kind of problem, then explain what it is including the exact text of any error messages you're getting.

IOS 5 issues, back up restore password.

I never created a back up restore password but itunes is asking me for one. I can't back up my ipod unless I figure this out. I've lost al my pics and videos. Please help if you can.

No, if you can't remember the password then you won't be able to restore to that backup - there wouldn't be much use in having password protected backups if the password could be bypassed

Hello Den,
SAP is not providing forgot password functionality.
What we did in our application is , we are providing a link new password to customer , customer can click on that link and enter their log in id.
Then our customer represntatives will get an automated mail and they will log in to the ISA user management application and will reset the password . Then the system will send the new password to that customer.

You can protect your backup with a passcode using the Encrypt Backup option in the Summary pane. Encrypting your backup will back up your Keychain. This way, email account passwords, Wi-Fi passwords, and passwords you enter into websites and some applications will be remembered when you transfer to a new device. Learn how to create and restore from a backup.
When your backup is encrypted, you'll need to enter the password when enabling or disabling encryption or when restoring from this backup.
Warning: Make sure it's a password you will remember or write it down for safekeeping. If you encrypt an iPhone backup in iTunes and forget your password, you can't restore from backup and your data will be unrecoverable.
If you can't remember the password and want to start again, you must perform a full software restore and choose set up as a new device when iTunes prompts you to select the backup from which to restore.

upgrades to Overdrive seem to have screwed up the transfer between
Overdrive and ADE. I'd check with the source technical support and find

Try disabling the computer's antivirus and firewall.
- Next try the manual install method of:
iDevice Troubleshooting 101 :: iPhone, iPad, iPod touch
Place the iPod in recovery mode after the firmware download is complete and then restore using the instructions in the article. Sometimes recovery mode timeouts and returns to disabled before the firmware download is complete.
- Then try on another computer

Hi there please help!!!
I have completly forgotten my ipad password (The four digit one at start screen) and have tried every combination of pins i imagine i would use. I have tried following instructions to restore the ipad as suggested online (i did not have very much stuff on it yet so do mind having to delete it all). I plug the USB in to the computer, turn ipad off, hold home button down, connect ipad but it just comes on asking me pass word again!!?? - the 'connect to itunes' screen does NOT come up no matter how many times i try!! Can anyone help!!???
