HT1212 trying to disable passcode in ipad3 help
trying to disable passcode on ipad 3
Do you know the passcode? If so, go into "Settings" and select the "passcode" options in settings. Enter the passcode, and select "Turn off Passcode". Once you do that, you will need to enter your passcode again and it will shut off.
If you do not know the passcode, I don't know what you can do other than restoring the iPad through iTunes...

I wanted to turn off Autolock and Passcode Authentification.
I set Autolock to "never."
Then, I set Autolock after Replacing Smart Cover to "off."
Finally, I tried to turn off Passcode Authentification. My iPad asked for my passcode. I entered it, but my iPad wouln't take it and asked me to re-enter it; perhaps my finger had slipped. So I entered my passcode again -- and this time correctly, I'm nearly certain. Still my iPad wouldn't take it and asked me to re-enter it.
Not thinking I could have changed my passcode (and how could I have if, according my iPad, I never entered my old one correctly?), I let my iPad go into Sleep mode and returned to work on something else.
And now I can't unlock my iPad. I put in my passcode, and the thing won't take it. Disabled for 60 minutes at this point.Hmm, I did receive an email saying that the thread was deleted, but did not explain why for some reason. It sounds like the Level 7 guy caused this. I will call Apple tomorrow to find out who is responsible. And see if I can lodge a complaint against that user. Maybe it was because of what the Level 7 guy was saying.
There was useful information posted in that threat that addressed the issue that I am experiencing. I will try to reiterate from the apple website, it says.
Recovery mode
If you've never synced your device with iTunes, or haven't set up Find My iPhone, you'll need to put your device in recovery mode. Then you'll restore your device as new or from a backup.
This will erase the device and its passcode.
Disconnect all cables from your device.
Hold down the Sleep/Wake button, then "slide to power off" to turn off your device.
Press and hold the Home button and plug the device into your computer. If your device doesn't turn on automatically, turn it on. Don't release the Home button.
Continue holding the Home button until you see the Connect to iTunes screen.
If iTunes doesn't open automatically, open it. iTunes will alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode.
Click OK. Then restore the device.
If your device doesn't go into recovery mode, try steps 1–4 again.
They suggested that I try this over again until it works. It did not work for me the first time. -
My i phone 4 got locked by my small sister plus my laptop was formatted i dont have itunes back up to unlock thei phone what should i do i am puzzeled?? i tried passcode it says i phone is disabled .. some one help please
Options for when an iOS device gets locked because of forgotten passcode:
Restore (and reset passcode) on your device by connecting it to the last computer to which it was connected:
iTunes: Backing up, updating, and restoring iOS software - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414 ( https://discussions.apple.com/message/20025416 - "A restore erases the iPod. If you restore from backup the iPod will be like it was IF the iTunes library includeds [sic] all the synced media like apps and music since those are not included in the backup.")
If you cannot connect it to the computer to which the device was last connected (or the device was never connected to a computer) you will have to use recovery mode to completely reset the device, losing all data:
iOS: Unable to update or restore - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808 - recovery mode (e.g., cannot connect to computer last used to sync device, iTunes still asks for a password)
If none of the above work, try:
DFU mode: http://osxdaily.com/2010/12/04/ipad-dfu-mode/
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode - http://geekindisguise.wordpress.com/2009/07/16/how-to-put-ipod-touch-iphone-into -dfu-mode/ -
device disabled after entering wrong passcode.
Please help me in getting this unlocked without lossing the data as the data is really important for meI think you should call via phone or perhaps take it to a phone store. I suggest taking your id, box packaging and other necessities such as the reciept of the phone being purchased.
Hope this helped -

I cannot remember my passcode and need help to change/reset my passcode. I have tried to reset using the instructions on the website without success. Please explain to me in simple easy terms how to access my ipod. Thanks
Forgotten Screen-Lock Passcode
Connect the iOS device to your computer and try to make a backup
iOS: How to back up
Then restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased. Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode if necessary to allow the restore.
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
For how to restore:
iTunes: Restoring iOS software
To restore from backup see:
iOS: How to back up
If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
You can also Google for YouTube videos that show how to do it -
I downloaded the ios 7.0.2 update and it's asking for a passcode. I have tried my 2 passcodes, 0000, 1234, and it's locked up. I have never used a different passcode. HELP!!!
Not sure if this applies to your region, but in Australia the SIM password is often written on the "credit card" sized plastic card that the SIM was provided to you with the phone by the telco. Do you still have this? It could be in the iPhone box?

I am trying to disable the button by doing any of the following and they all

Specify an id attribute for the button you created. Set the value for the id to be 'P9_MY_BUTTON'
<input type="button" id = 'P9_MY_BUTTON'
onclick="clickFunction('Confirmation message goes here')"
value="Text to display on button"
title="Tooltip text to display"
