    How can I get the phone numbers in contacts to appear with dashes between the first 3 numbers, the next 3 numbers, and the last 4 numbers?  Until very recently
    it did so.  Contacts on my macbook pro does show up this way.  I do have a mobile me account and in the past syncing was no problem.  What setting has changed?

    The phone number format as well as the date language and format and the time format are controlled by the Region Format setting. Go to Settings > General >International > Region Format.  When you change a region format, you can go back one page (to International) and see an example of the date/time/phone number format that your selected region format will produce.

  • Can I exclude photos on my iPhone from being sent to iCloud and how?  My goal is to only sync my calendar to the iCloud and exclude everything else.  This way I don't have to pay for more space.

    My goal is to only sync my calendar to iCloud and exclude everything else.  This way I don't have to pay for more space.

    Hey Murphie,
    I don't pay for more space and I'm backing up two devices to iCloud, a 32G ipad and a 16G phone.
    However, you can merely chose NOT to backup to iCloud. Then you won't run out of space. Items synced to iCloud do not take up your backup space.
    Now, you WILL have to back up to your computer via iTunes the old fashioned way, or risk losing valuable data. Your choice.
    However, if you manage your data responsibility, you won't run out of your 5G of storage on your iCloud backup from normal use.
    Good luck

  • Will restoring my ipod touch fix the crashing problems?

    I have an ipod touch 4th generation and every day I have to turn it off and on at least once because it starts to crash a lot. I can't be the time I want in an app because it crashes. I want to know if I restore the ipod and start it as a new one will fix the problem, or do I just keep turning it off and on every day until I get a new one?

    do this first
    reset all settings
    settings-general-reset-reset all settings
    now reconnect to wifi
    settings- wifi- click network name- enter password - join
    if issue persists back up and restore as new via iTunes

  • Will restoring my ipod delete everything on my ipod?

    My ipod touch froze last night. As usual, I pressed the lock and home buttons until the apple appeared. However, now the only thing on the screen is telling me to connect the ipod to itunes. I plugged it into my computer and itunes is telling me that I must restore my ipod. Will restoring it delete all of its content? Thanks for the help!

    if there was a back up then no it wont.
    also if the same things are in your itunes library then you can put everything back on it.

  • Will restoring my iPod erase my iTunes music too?

    Just a quick question. If I restore my ipod will all my music be erased from my iTunes library as well as my ipod? Thanks!

    Hello,
    Restoring the iPod will only clear the music from the iPod. Your iTunes library will be unaffected. It's always worth having a backup though!

  • Will restoring my iPod back to the factory settings fix problems with the memory? Or is it a software problem?

    No matter how many things I delete off of my 4th generation iPod it continues to tell me that I don't have any memory. I've deleted 2 apps and over 20 pictures, but when I go to the settings, it says I have 0 bytes available. (Which doesn't make any sense because that would mean the apps and pictures that I deleted did not take up any memory, which we all know is sort of impossible.) I've never restored my iPod, and I would like to know whether doing so would solve the problem or if it will just make it impossible to get my stuff back since deleting things does not seem to free up space.

    If you are unable to get the iPod into Disk Mode to try and restore it, it's a very good indication, as mentioned in the article, that the iPod's hard drive is damaged and in need of replacement either by Apple or a third party repair company.

  • Will jsp use connPool by this way?

    I installed mysql-essential-4.1.13a-win32 and jakarta-tomcat-5.0.19. I just copyed mysql-connector-java-3.1.10-bin.jar to CATALINA_HOME\common\lib and did nothing to CATALINA_HOME\conf\server.xml, WEB-INF\web.xml. Through jstl, i can access mysql db.I want to know that whether my jsp are using connection pool to access mysql by this way?

    Thanks for your replying:), I use the code below to access mysql:
    <%@ page contentType='text/html;charset=gb2312'%>
    <%@ taglib prefix='c' uri='http://java.sun.com/jsp/jstl/core'%>
    <%@ taglib prefix='sql' uri='http://java.sun.com/jsp/jstl/sql'%>
    <sql:setDataSource var='dbRef' url='jdbc:mysql://localhost:3306/demo'
                                             driver='com.mysql.jdbc.Driver' user='user' password='password'/>
    <sql:query var='queryRst' dataSource='${dbRef}'>
         SELECT * FROM employees
    </sql:query>
    <table align='center'>
         <tr>
              <c:forEach items='${queryRst.columnNames}' var='colName' begin='1'>
                   <th align='center' bgcolor='lightgrey'>${colName}</th>
              </c:forEach>
         </tr>
         <c:forEach items='${queryRst.rowsByIndex}' var='record'>
              <tr>
                   <c:forEach items='${record}' var='field' begin='1'>
                        <td>${field}</td>
                   </c:forEach>
              </tr>
         </c:forEach>
    </table>It is relly a good idea according to SoulTech2012, i don't know how to set a breakpoint in the connection pool or use whatever admin tools you have to monitor the connection pool.What references shoud i turn to on this point?
    As evnafets say, i specify all the params in jstl. So connection pool shoud not be used. Can i use connection pool without configing server.xml or web.xml?

  • Will restoring my iPod to "original settings" erase all of my music?

    The computer that I use for music died, and I plugged my iPod Classic (newest model) into an older computer and I got a message that said iTunes (also newest version) did not recognize my computer and suggested I restore it to the factory settings. Will this erase all of the music on my iPod?

    Yes. You will need to use 3rd party software to pull music off the iPod, if recoverable,before you do a factory restore. I personally recommend iGadget (for PCs).

  • HT1495 I have 3 iphones, an ipad, and several ipods.  how do I give them seperate apple id's and create a master account.  This way I do not have to purchase music for each device individually.  For now we just share an id.  This no longer works for us.

    I need help!  I have multiple devices and would like everything linked to one master account, however, I need seperate IDs so that we can use imessage and facetime on each device individually.  How do I do this?

    I think I will do this.  I will use my apple ID and set face time and message to work independently.  That solves one problrem.  My other problem and maybe my bigger problem is that if I am using my apple ID, how do I iflter all of this so that my kids don't see my contacts, get my apps, etc. ?

  • Will restoring my ipod lose all data on itunes?

    i forgot my passcode and i was going to restore it but i dont know if it will delet all my apps and music on itunes

    It will erase and restore the iPad to factory settings, all content should reside in iTunes. It won't remove anything from your computer.

  • HT1212 will restoring my device erase all my photos?

    i forgot my ipads passcode and i know it needs to restore itself but i just want to know this

    Yes it will. When you restore it will totally erase the device. But if you backup, as recommended, you can restore from the backup and the photos in the camera roll will be restored. If you don't backup, and you haven't imported the photos to your computer, then the photos are gone.

  • HT201250 Will restoring a mailbox with time machine delete new mail?

    I recently changed internet service provider and chaned the settings in mail to send/recieve with new provider.  I removed the old account (pop & SMTP) and the items I had saved in my old mailbox disappeared.
    I need to recover some items in that mailbox. I was going to use time machine to recover these files and wanted to know if doing this will delete current mailbox (information/settings).
    Some additional advice would be really appreciated on how to avoid losing information in the future.
    Can anyone help????

    Quit Mail.
    Go to the FInder, select Go, then GO to Folder. Paste this:
    ~/Library/Mail/V2/
    A finder window will open in your Home Library to the Mail folder.
    With that window active, enter TM. Navigate back in time and find the account folder you deleted. Highlight it and click to restore.
    Once done, open Mail. The account you deleted should be there with the messages. Create a local folder and move those messages to it. Then, you can once again delete that account from mail.
    Messages in a POP accounts are stored on the computer within that account. Creating local mailboxes and moving messages to them will move the messages out of the account. Since local mailboxes are not affected by specific accounts, they won't get deleted when you do delete an account.
