I can't log into FaceTime because my email address is not associated with my Apple Password. I'm directed to reset my password and when I do, I'm told that my email address is wrong. I'm in a loop I can't get out of.

Where are you trying to log in? You should be able to change your ID at http://appleid.apple.com - can you log in there?
Before you change your ID you should log out of the iTunes Store and on any devices which are logged into iCloud. Then once you've changed it you can log back in with the new ID. (Your iCloud synced data will disappear from the device when you do this but will reappear when you sign back in - give it time).
If you are unable to sign into http://appleid.apple.com you will need to contact Support. Go to http://iforgot.apple.com and sign in with your iCloud login. A new password will be sent to your associated email address. If this doesn't work you will have to contact Support. Go to https://getsupport.apple.com . Click' See all products and services', then 'More Products and Services, then 'Apple ID', then 'Other Apple ID Topics' then 'Lost or forgotten Apple ID password'. If you have any problems with that try this form: https://www.apple.com/emea/support/itunes/contact.html

  • TS4185 I can't log into FaceTime or Messages, checked that my ID and password are correct, checked that settings are set correctly.  Could it be that latest OS download changed my configurations that disable access?

    Update to above question:
    Hello All,
To anyone with the same problem described above, on THEIR iPad (if it is running iOS 7.0.2):
Go to Settings; Mail, Contacts, Calendars; DELETE your *******@btinternet.com e-mail account, that you originally set up either using 'Other', or the 'BT' option which I am sure was in the list previous to the iOS 7 update.
Then ADD a NEW account choosing YAHOO from the list of options. DO NOT USE 'OTHER'.
Enter the correct details just as you (almost certainly) had already done in your previous attempts using 'other'.
When you see the 'verifying......' and 'the blue ticks' you should be able to exit settings and open your mail app and then receive all your 'old' e-mails again, AND be able to SEND as well.
All my 'old' e-mails, were NOT found in the 'old e-mail' folder though. THEY are still in my inbox.
So this fix worked for me.
After I deleted my account from 'OTHER' and put it in Yahoo, I like other people also ended up with more folders.
I hope this works for you on YOUR Apple devices.
    Bob

  • I can't log into FaceTime

I put my Apple ID in and it takes me to the next page, where it asks me what email address i would like to use. I click on the one i want and it says it is verifying at the top, but it just keeps verifying. How can i log on?

You should have gotten a verifying e-mail sent to you when you setup your Facetime application.  It is neccessary for you to go to that verifying e-mail and click on the link which will in fact verify your e-mail with Apple.  This must be done in order to activate Facetime on your Mac.

  • Can't log into facetime or iMessage on iPad

I am sorry to be posting this question again. I have read many other threads on this matter. I have verified my apple ID, I have changed DNS settings, I have set the date and time to automatic, I have hard reset. I'm at a loss and very frustrated. If anyone could help me figure out why I cannot log into FaceTime or iMessage on my iPad, I would greatly appreciate it.

  • Iphone 4s can't log into facetime

My father and i both purchesed our iphone 4s not that long ago.  My father was able to set up his facetime with no problem.  However when i try to set mine up it tells me i need to check my network settings.  I've compared both our phones and everything appers to be the same but for some reason mine will just not work! I've reset my network settings, ive restarted the phone, i've made sure the date and time are automatic, and i've verified my apple id. Help?

One does not log into FaceTime.  What is the real issue?

  • I can't log onto facetime on my mac.  My apple ID and password is correct and it is working on my ipad/iphone.  My facetime preferences is grayed out and I keep having to turn facetime on.  My screen gets stuck on signing in or verifying.

I have used facetime on my mac recently and have not had this problem until today.  Facetime seems to have logged out on all of my devices but after putting my password in on my iphone/ipad it is back to normal however my Macbook will not allow me to log in.  I also noticed that facetime preferences is grayed and I keep trying to turn facetime on and that is graying out as well.  I put in my email and password and I get stuck on "signing in".  Or I get past that and I verify my email and password and I get stuck on "verifying" only to get booted back to the sign in page.  My OS is up to date, my wifi is on and working and I have no firewall on my home network.  I cannot figure out how to fix this.  I have tried some previous message troubleshooting such as updating the DNS entry to add 8.8.8.8 and that did not work.  I have tried to toggle facetime on and restart but that did not work.  I can't delete and reinstall facetime as it is connected to the OS and will not allow you to do that.

I have the same problem. Unfortunately, the troubleshooting link you added has the first step listed as "Verify that FaceTime is enabled in FaceTime > Preferences" which we (the original poster and I) can't do as our Preferences are greyed out. We can't click on them to verify anything.
In FaceTime itself it's verified my apple id (also double checked via the site) and then it says the email is "verified" but then it freezes and after a minute or so it says "Could not verify the email address. Please check your network connection and try again."
After checking the network connection, it still doesn't work. It's rather frustrating as it all worked fine until about a week or two ago.
    Any help would be appreciated.

  • I can't log into facetime or iMessenger

I've had my ipod for about two years,my facetime used to work but then it stopped and wouldn't let me log in so I made a new apple id hoping it would work. but it didn't. every time I try to log in it says 'FaceTime Activation-Could not sign in. Please check your network connection and try again'  It also says the same for iMessanger. what does this mean? my wifi is working so I know its not that. Can someone please help me

    - Go to Settings>General>Time&Date and make sure it is set to automatic
    - Go to Settings>wifi>your connected network and change the DNS to Google's 8.8.8.8

  • I can't log into FaceTime or iMessage?

I bought a brand new iPad mini 3 from Apple, it is up-to-date as well as the time and date being set to automatic. I have tried manually setting it, which makes no difference. When I attempt to log on to either application, it either does not respond or a message appears informing me that there is a connection error, to check my network and to try again. There is nothing wrong with my connection, as it works perfectly fine with everything else?
I have even attempted to create two separate Apple ID accounts and neither of them have worked.
    Can anybody help please?

Apple has a problem with the IPad Mini 3, new AppleIDs and FaceTime, iMessage. This version started back in March.
You need need to call AppleCare and tell them. I went to the Apple Store and while they couldn't help, later when I called AppleCare and they said it was my network I could tell them I tried their network too.
It's not a quick fix. I think they are fixing AppleIDs one at a time!
You don't need a phone number with an iPad to use those apps.
There are a lot of posts here about this, the biggest one is imessage and Facetime sign in activation error iPad ios8.1.2
Start at page 18 for the current issue. Good luck

  • I can't log onto FaceTime or iMessage.

I Have tried to log on to both FaceTime and Imessager but it keeps coming up with the four error notifications. I have searched online and carried out the suggested solutions but none have worked. Also in one solution it says to switch off both, however I can't as I need sign in and as soon as I do the error pops up.  I'm now stuck please help as this is the only connection to love ones

  • Can't log into FaceTime/iMessage

Works on all my other Macs, Pads, Phones on the network except one machine. Tries to log in the says "If this is a new Apple ID, you do not need to create another one. To use this Apple ID with FaceTime, contact FaceTime support with the code below.
    Customer Code: 0850-9617-6276
Called Apple and they want $29 to talk.
Got to be something I'm overlooking...
    help

There is no official public documentation of that alert as far as I know.
If you're trying to sign in to FaceTime, try to sign in to iMessage in the Messages application, or vice versa.
Otherwise, do as the alert directs. According to reports, you won't be charged for the support call if you select "Apple ID"—not the hardware model—as the product you're asking about, and cite the "customer code" in the alert as the "validation code" when you speak to the Apple representative.

  • Can't log into Facetime or iMessage.

Getting a "Server encountered a error processing your registration. Please try again later."  message after entering my password. I reset me passord and tried again, but still unsuccessful.

I'm having the same issue as well. I just migrated to a new Macbook Air from an old Macbook Pro. Both were running on the latest version of Mountain Lion. My Apple ID/iCloud account services work across all my iOS devices and my old MBP, but for some reason, both FaceTime and iMessage will not log into my Apple ID, even though the info is correct and current. Not sure what to do...

  • Does anyone know why I can't log into FaceTime on my macbook pro?

For some reason I'm not able to sign into my facetime on my macbook pro. Does anyone know why? Thanks

Not enough information.  What are you using to sign in?
