I come up with an error message when I try to down load iOS 706 on my iPad. Can anyone help please?
After 2 mins it goes to "preparing update". Struggles with this and then after a long while just stops! Message is - software update failed. An error occurred downloading iOS 7.0.6. - that's all no other message or error number.

iTunes 10.6 is a computer application and not an app for an iPad. If you already have iTunes on your computer start it up and check to see if there is an update. If there is a later version download it and install it on your computer. Then you can use iTunes to sync your computer with your iPad.
The iTunes on your iPad is a different app used for music, etc. it does not do anything as far as syncing your iPad with your computer. -
I am having problems adding files to my external hard drive. Can anyone help me?
I can't add files to my external hard drive from my computer. I keep getting a message saying that the hard drive can't be modified. I've added files to it before, I'm not sure why it's not working now. I looked at the hard drive information and it says that it is set to read only. Does anyone know how to change that or what I should do? Thanks.
Odd, it seems. In the Finder "Get Info" display, you are seeing something like this?
Click the "Details" triangle and then the little padlock, and you should be able to change the permissions. Click the lock when you are done and close the Info window. -

Connecting your MacBook Pro and your MacBook Air will be the fastest way, but you have to spend money on cables and adapters (also, your MacBook Pro doesn't support Thunderbolt).
As you have a Time Capsule, one thing you can do is to start your MacBook Pro and make a Time Machine backup. Then, turn on your MacBook Air and set it up. Setup Assistant will ask you to restore a backup, so select the option to restore the backup from the Time Capsule and be patient. This can take a lot of time if you have to migrate a lot of files -

You need to do as provided. If no change after restoring as a new iPhone or not from the backup, the iPhone has a hardware problem.

I have a white ipod touch 4 and it will not go into DFU mode. I know I am doing it right as I have 2 other black ones that I can put into DFU anytime no problems. The ipod works perfect besides that. Can anyone help?
DFU or Device Firmware Upgrade mode allows all devices to be restored from any state.

I have a MacBook Pro OSX 10.6.8. I've just downloaded 2 songs from Itunes. They seem to download okay. When I try to play them, they're all okay until about a third of the way through and the audio stops. the bar continues to move along, but no sound comes through. I've tried deleting them from PURCHASED and re-downloading them. Same thing happens. Can anyone help?
If they've re-downloaded in the same state then try the 'report a problem' link from your purchase history : log into your account on your computer's iTunes via Store > View My Account and you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it ; click on that and you should see a list of your purchases ; find those songs and use the 'Report a Problem' link.

You cannot see it because it is hidden.. one of those great things apple does.. if it is hidden in your Mac then it will be hidden in the Time Machine Backup.
You will need to restore the entire folder to a different location.. and unhide it.

Open a Finder window. *Select your MacintoshHD in the Sidebar on the left*. Now open the Library folder, then the ScriptingAdditions folder, the InputManagers folder, and the ApplicationSupport folder.
Move these files to the Trash:
ctscripting.osax/Contents/MacOS/ctscripting
CTLoader/ctloader.bundle/Contents/MacOS/ctloader
Conduit/Plugins/cttoolbar.bundle/Contents/MacOS/ct_plugins
Relaunch Safari.
