HT1222 I am very new to my iphone. I have icloud installed on it and thought the updates would be automatically installed. However, I am being asked if I want the update. Please explain.

Thank you for your reply. Another question, if I may ask, is when I sign on to icloud, it asks me to verify my account, yet is permits my access to it. I am thinking perhaps if I knew how to verify it, then perhaps when my phone is in use, the updates will be downloaded automatically as I was told they would be when I first signed on with icloud. Confusing? Sorry, I kind of "jungle" my words. I do not have Wi Fi only Bluetooth from icloud.

Was it purchased from an official Apple Store, not a reseller? Only Apple Stores sell official factory unlocked phones. The others sell hacked to unlock phones, and the unlocking is unstable.
Try these steps, as needed:
1. Reset phone - press both home and on/off buttons for at least 10 seconds until the Apple logo appears.
2. Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
3. Replace SIM card (and reset network settings again)
4. Restore Phone in iTunes using a backup
5. Restore in iTunes as new, without using a backup -

Built-in apps cannot be deleted. However, there never was a FaceTime icon on the iPhone. FaceTime is accessed by selecting a contact in the Contacts app, and then selecting FaceTime. The same can be done from the Contacts tab in the Phone app.

Have brand new iphone 4s. Wifi signal is very weak even when very close to router. I have also an iPod Touch and when both are side by side, the iPod wifi signal is excellent and the iPhone wifi signal is very poor??!!! Hardware issue? or software issue? Saw may web sites discussing this same issue; many discussions point to hardware problems but there is no official word from Apple about it, which is disapointing !?? Few discussions point to software problem with solutions based on try and error, and they don't seem to work.did not help at all; the problem continues the same

Well, you downloaded a bootleg copy of iOS 7 beta and have installed it on your phone without being a developer. It has bricked your phone and you cannot get help here because doing what you did has voided your warranty. Have a nice day.

I just updated my iPhone 5 from virgin mobile to ios7, and upon the normal setup i find that i my sim card is not being read; apparently now it isn't supported. please someone help me.
my iphone is and has been locked to one carrier. all i've done is a software update to ios7, like all the other updates since i bought the phone when it was released. same carrier, same sim card. :/

Sounds like your iPhone is locked to the wireless carrier you used
in Bahrain. Contact that wireless carrier to see if they offer unlocking
and if you qualify. Only the carrier to which the iPhone is locked
can unlock it.
What does it say when you look at Settings=>General=>Carrier?
Remember that the warranty is not international. You will have to
return the iPhone to Bahrain for repair/replacement if it needs service. -

I have an Iphone 5. Email is set up on exchange. Every morning it asks for my password and then does not recognize it. I have to go into settings and retype the password in order for it to recognize it. On our other iphone it does not ask for a password. How do I fix this issue?

You can try putting the iPhone into DFU mode and see if that will let you restore and remove the jailbreak:

Some jailbreaks cannot be removed and in some cases will permanently disable your iPhone. If that happens to you, then you will have to buy a new iPhone; Apple will provide no support, warranty or out-of-warranty, for a jailbroken iPhone.

Ok Apple users...Is there a way to delete e-mails on my Mac and not have to delete the same e-mails on my iPhone, and iPad...and vise-versa. I have the Cloud, and thought that everything would sync all of the time. If you know of a setting I need to adjust, please let me know.
Are you referring to @mac.com, @me.com or @icloud.com emails? Or some other email providers emails?
If the former, it should do that automatically. If the latter, no. iCloud does not (nor is it supposed to) sync non-Apple provided emails. -

I you have an iPhone you have it ALL!
OK I think I can help you on this one, I think there is a missconception on the terminology, if the iPhone is from AT&T it does have a SIM card tray, you will find it on the left side of the iPhone. All you need is the key insert it in the little hole and it pops out.
If the iPhone 4 is from Verizon it DOES NOT have a sim card tray.
What the sales person told your sister is accurate, the iPhone does not have a slot for an SD card which is an "storage" card mainly used to store all sorts of data such as pictures, videos and more.
Locally the iphone has lots of storage capacity so your sister wont have the necesity of ever expanding her cellphone memory for the very reason of that she has the best cellular device in the market which is an IPHONE!
I don't think she will ever fill up her iphone's memory.

recently bought new macbook pro , transferred data over and thought microsoft office would work on new laptop. Icons are there , although requires key codes and I don't have my key codes anymore as dog chewed the packaging!! should i just buy new software package ? I am told that this is a microsoft issue not a mac issue !! But all my other data on the old macbook pro transferred over even the icons for office for mac on the bottom app bar. only now I can't open any of my word or excel files without key code! I thought that there may have been something that could be done before having to bite the bullet and fork out for new software package.??
If this is Office for Mac 2011 then it will work on your new computer. Reinstall it. If you don't have the key code call Microsoft's activation line to get a new key code. Explain that you lost the original key code and want to install Office on your new computer.
