HT1222 i can't update itunes - It downloads to the end and then gives me an error message
I can't update itunes - I keep getting a error message after the download is done -any idea what I should do?
Several things to try.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the Sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut Off. To power up hold the Sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time (for about 10-15 seconds) until the Apple logo appears (ignore the red slider), then let go of the buttons.
Disable your firewall and anitvirus software temporarily.

(5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time? -
Today, 01/23/2014, I tried updating iTunes, as I got a messsage that update was available. The update did not download correctly I got the message to uninstall iTunes and reinstall it. After the uninstall and reinstall I got an error message, that stated: The program can't start because MSVCR80.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program fo fix. then I got the message, iTunes was not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes. Error 7 (windows error 126) I have had iTunes since I purchased the iphone in 2012. I have only updated the product since then until today when I did the uninstall ans reinstall as stated in above directions. I am not sure what is different now. please help
I had this problem as well but found the soultion on another post from turingtest2 - it worked for me:
Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (Later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support
Bonjour
Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or by right-clicking the downloaded installer and selectingRun as Administrator.

I am getting this same message when it tries to install it is Itunes.msi

I am trying to download the latest version of iTunes to my PC (windows XP) and I keep getting an error message or two. One is that it can't uninstall the previous itunes version, the other is that it can't find itunes.msi. I have tried removing the old version in add/remove programs, but it says the same error. have you tried the following ?
open system preferences
open network pane
select airport in the left list
click the advanced button
go to the TCP/IP tab
set the configure IPv6 field to OFF.
click OK
click apply
now try again to connect to your remote speakers. -

Apps and many other purchases are tied to the iTunes Store account via which they were purchased. So if you buy the app, that app is tied to your iTunes Store account. Without that account information, the child could not update the app nor back it up.
I'd also suggest giving the child an iTunes gift card or gift certificate along with the iPod. If the child is too young to have and manage his or her own iTunes Store account, then his or her parent could set up an iTunes Store account to purchase the apps. That could be done with that gift card and not need a credit card. You can also gift specific apps, though again that would require the child or a parent to open an iTunes Store account through which to redeem the gift. For more information on gift options, see:

I am unable to download from the APP store. I get an error message saying my computer is not verified and click support under quick links..
Close your iTunes,
Go to command Prompt -
(Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
(Win XP SP2 & above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
netsh winsock reset
Hit "ENTER" key
Restart your computer.
If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
Now launch your iTunes and see if it is working now.
If you are still having these type of problems after trying the winsock reset, refer to this article to identify which software in your system is inserting LSP:

I uninstalled iTunes and installed the version (10-5.3???) for my 64bit computer but no luck. I can transfer songs from cd's and the itunes store easily enough but I just got this thing yesterday and I want to get the full experience and not half of it. I feel like I'm missing something and i'm about ready to take a hammer to it.
