HT1222 ios 7.02 update stuck... I've turned computer on/off. Trying to avoid resetting iPad. Been updating for 15 hours.

Does anyone have any issues with ios 7.02 update?  It seems my update is stuck for the last 15 hours and I am trying to avoid resetting my ipad.

The actual 7.03 update should take an hour to download. Fifteen hours is way too long.
Resetting is probably your best option at this point.

What is the easiest and fastest way for me to get the iOS 5.1 update for my ipad2? I am non tech savvy and am a new user to apple devices.

If you are already running iOS 5 on your iPad go to Setrings>General>aoftware Update and you can update over the air via WiFi. If you are not running iOS 5 you have to connect the iPad to your computer and update via iTunes.

Read this: iOS 4: Updating your device to iOS 5 or later
    ... oh I think it is a 3gs or a 3
This makes a difference. What does it say in Settings > General > About?

  • The iOS 8.0.2 has been downloading for an hour on my iPad, is that normal?

The iOS 8.0.2 has been downloading for an hour on my iPad, is that normal?

Yes. Your product list shows that you're currently running iOS 7.1.2, and whenever you make a major update, i.e. iOS 7 to 8, it's a large file which can take a while to download.

  • HT201269 I'm updating from my iPhone 4 to the iPhone 5 and have been 'restoring' for 2 hours now and the progress bar still states I hae 6 hours remaining. Will it really take this long? How long should a restore take? It's a 32gb device. Thanks.

I am having this problem.  At first with the new iPhone 5, and then with the iPad 2.  I am not sure why this is happening.
My gut feeling is this is an iO6 issue and here's why -
The problem mainly occurs with apps.  I have about 150 apps, and when I plugged in the phone, iTunes went to sync all of them.  The process would hang up after about 20 - 30 apps were loaded onto the phone. I could tell where about the process hung up because the apps on the phone showed up as "waiting".
Then on the iPad 2 I plugged in to sync and saw there was a huge "Other" component in my storage.  It required me to restore the iPad 2 from backup.  With this restore the same issues occurred - putting the apps back on the iPad would hang up.  The videos on the iPad also got stuck - maybe after about 10 hours of videos transfered iTunes crashed.
My solution has been to soft reset the device, restart Windows, and continue the process until it's complete.  This is remarkably inefficient and time-intensive but everything works with patience.
I have been wondering if others have had these same problems.

You can download the standalone updates:
OS X Lion Update 10.7.5 (Client Combo)
OS X Lion 10.7.5 Supplemental Update

Quit the App Store application, or force-quit if necessary.

  • The latest update has been running for 16 hours. Is that normal.

The small window has been showing for 16 hours. It says downloading the update, and connecting to the server and it has the bar running across. How don I know when it is complete.

Not normal. You probably got a bad connection, but the update is not what you want. You are so far behind at Firefox 3.6.10 that even if the update worked you would still probably have to do more updates. With Mac OS X 10.4 you cannot go to Firefox 4.0, but you will want to go to the latest 3.6 version which is 3.6.17
Start at http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all-older.html ''(those with current systems can upgrade to 4.0.1 at http://www.mozilla.com for 4.0.1)''. At the completion of the download don't let the setup start Firefox for you, when the setup ends, start Firefox in your normal manner this way you will be less likely to create a new profile.
The extra startup pages are temporary -- read them. The next time Firefox comes up you should be back to starting with your normal home page.
Note: Firefox must be down once the install starts.
Close Firefox with File>Exit. Then make sure Firefox is not running --
On Windows: check the "Processes" tab in the Windows Task Manager.
On Mac: Firefox > Quit then Command+option+Esc, if Firefox running use Force quit
    Permission errors on Mac:
If you were getting permission errors on a Mac, download the latest
Firefox version (for your system), then uninstall and reinstall Firefox. Do not remove your profile directories and files as they contain your settings,
bookmarks, history, extensions, passwords, and cookies.

  • Can't download iOS 8.3 on my ipad mini. Has been downloading for 24 hours.  Any suggestions?

Trying to download iOS 8.3 on my iPad mini.  Has been downloading for 24 hours.  Any suggestions?

Try shutting off by holding down the home and power button at the same time.  Once turned back on you can try downloading again.  Be sure you have at least 50% of battery life before starting.

  • I'm just trying to update from 3.5.8 to the latest version. Started on the website and it downloaded a desktop image only, no application. Then tried on Firefox to update under "Help". It's been spinning for an hour! Help. I just want the latest version

If there are problems with updating or with the permissions then easiest is to download the full version and trash the currently installed version to do a clean install of the new version.
Download a new copy of the Firefox program and save the disk image (dmg) file to the desktop
    *Firefox 9.0.x: http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all.html
*Trash the current Firefox application to do a clean (re-)install
*Install the new version that you have downloaded
Your profile data is stored elsewhere in the Firefox Profile Folder, so you won't lose your bookmarks and other personal data if you uninstall and (re)install Firefox.

  • I cannot turn on or off my location services on ipad 3 using iOS 8.0.2

hi,i cannot turn on or off my location services on ipad 3 using iOS 8.0.2
    thanks

    Hi roydoum,
I apologize, I'm a bit unclear what you are seeing or what is happening when you try to turn Location Services on or off (what state is it currently in?). If you are having issues with Location Services, you may find the following article helpful (it is aimed at iOS 7, but the steps should be the same in iOS 8):
    iOS 7: Understanding Location Services
If you haven't already, you may also want to try resetting your device:
Turn your iOS device off and on (restart) and reset

        MrMJG,
Let's get your phone back up and running. Have you been able to try to press and hold the volume down and the power button at the same time for approximately 10 seconds? The phone should reboot for you. Is there any kind of physical or liquid damage to the device? Please keep me posted.

  • New update are listed on the app icon. When I click update all I'm prompted to enter password. When I do, the progress bars go away and nothing gets updated. Tried logging out, reset iPad, and nothing seems to work. Keeps asking me to enter password.

I've been having the same problem for days and just solved it. Tried going to Apple ID and had all the same problems you did in the second paragraph. I signed out with my current username on the ipad under settings--->store and signed back in with my oldest apple id and password. Now the apps don't ask for a password to upgrade. I too had a username that wasn't an email address and had to change to one that was at some point. That's what caused the problems. Hope this can work for you.

  • Iphone 5c saying verifying update for 3 hours and wont go away any help?

Iphone 5c is saying verifying update for 3 hours but wont go away any help?

That error is usually a hardware error. Make a Genius Bar appointment at your nearest Apple Store and have it checked.
