Is there something I should be aware of when attempting to run Adobe Flash (application/x-shockwave-flash)?
I've been on a couple websites that tell me that I should download the above mentioned plugin. BUT when I click for it to be installed, I receive the mesage "No suitable plugins were found". I remember some comments about Flashplayer (?) being a problem and I don't want to screw things up. I'm running OS X 10.7.4. Any comments will be greatly appreciated.

Only download it from a trusted site such as adobe website. It's fine.

I-tunes 7 - is there something we should be told?

reading the messages posted it appears there is a consistency of problem: namely weird stuff is happening after the downloading of ITunes 7.
For me: my computer is deauthorised for all my Itunes existing library..and if I reauthorise the iBook the pop up authorisation keeps reappearing - fab
I have some purchases that are now sitting there un able to be downloaded: depending on the iBooks mood this is either because I am not connected to the network (NOT TRUE), am not authorised (UNTRUE -see above) or have some form of unspecified error (clearly TRUE but not very helpful).
Could we have some sort of statement here from apple. Either that or can we revert to the previous version until these faults are ironed out.
I understand that problems occur but the real service failure here is the complete silence from apple. This is the sort of corporate behaviour that drives consumers away in droves.

Look for corrupt keychain, .plist file, third party application conflict, other version of iTunes first. Search the iTunes discussions for previously posted authorization problems.

The suggestion to reset the SMC is a good one, just in case the power management in your Mac needs a reset.
However, the fan loudness depends a lot on the type of Mac you are using, and also on the programs you are running.
Our iMac (2008) Core 2 Duo has fans, but you'd never know it as they run only with the quietest hum, if at all, or I just can't hear them.
On the other hand, the last two Macbook Pros that I have had (2010 and 2012 models) were usually quiet but their fans would revv up quite loudly when viewing streaming video, doing certain things in Firefox, etc. My daughter's Macbook Air is very quite except when running PhotoShop + iPhoto + Firefox and then its fans get loud.

The thing is: I love AIR, hate spark, loved the 2006 pre-spark functionality. It is so much more convenient and user friendly. Given the choice between having the display seperate from the processing, or having it be convenient and easy to work with, I choose the later option.
For the most part it seems like the AIR api is like a layer on top of the spark - flex system.. I would like to be able to over lay the same AIR functionality on top of the the old system....
Possible or no?

First thing to try is a reset: Hold down the home button along with the sleep/wake button until you see the apple, then let go.

iPhoto won't see albums that you've created in the Photos app on your iPad, nor photos that were synced to the app from a computer - it will only see the photos/videos that are in the Camera Roll album and, if you've used the camera connection kit, photos/video in the Imported Photos & Videos album.
If you want to copy photos from a particular album on your iPad then there are iPad apps such as Simple Transfer that let you select the photos in an album and copy them to your computer via your wifi-network.

Adobe has abandoned development of Flash for iOS. It turns out there were so many problems in the rewrite for iOS that they didn't figure it was worthwhile so they quit.

I'm designing a course on Captivate 6 and think I will have 5-6 videos each about 5-7 minutes. I want to ensure that the learner is able to access and view the course without interruption or issue. Are there parameters that I should use? Number of videos? Length of each video?

What you need to know first and foremost is what the end user's ACTUAL bandwidth is. That's going to be the main bottleneck that determines how big your videos can be and whether or not your end user's will suffer issues with buffering.
So find that out first.
