while downloading ios7 0.4 my Iphone 5 went into recovery mode and showed a signal to connect to i tunes which i did and followed the giude to restore phone, then it showed that my device "iphone 5" is not recognised any ideas how to fix this

Did you try the solution given, and if yes, did it work?
I have done several "attempted downloads, and see the full file download, typically taking 30 minutes to complete, and then something goes wrong.
I am happy to suspend AV and FW software, but would like to know if it is a good fix or not first?

Did You upgrade iOS on the iPhone and ITouch?
It might be that you now need a new version of iTunes for the new version of iOS.
I am guessing here because you did tell us very much to go on.

i have tried to restore via itunes as i would have usually, half way through i get an error code 3194 pop up.....and yes i do back up.

Ever since i updated my iphone and it ended up in recovery mode, my itunes wont detect any of my devices.. When i plug it in the computer instead of making that two toned noise it makes a weird one toned noise twice as if there's something wrong..

A while back when i was updating my iphone 5 itunes said an error had occured and my iphone ended up in recovery mode.. i brought it to the apple store they fixed it and i lost everything. supposedly the only things that were backed up on my icloud were 22 contacts from my previous iphone.. But i was still greatful i left with a working phone, however when i went home and plugged it in the computer itunes detected that i had a new phone and asked me if i'd like to back up my phone, surely i clicked yes and in a few minutes EVERYTHING came back! now a day later im here trying to connect my ipod and iphone to itunes and it will not detect anything. I uninstalled and reinstalled it back... still itunes is not responding im going on a road trip!! i need new music on my devices!! Someone help pleaasseee!!

Did you ever get your iPhone to register with iTunes? I just upgraded as well to Snow Leopard, and my my isn't recognized at all also.
If you did get this resolved, I would appreciate a little suggestion in the right direction.

That is not what it says. Read the message again. It's telling you it has detected an iPhone in recovery mode and it must be restored.
Restore it. You don't have a choice at this point.

Were are you able to *Verify iPhone Driver/Service Installation*, as mentioned in the article I linked above?
Try restarting the Apple Mobile Device Service, as shown here: http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1567.
Also, what security software is running on the PC? If you haven't already, try to update, reconfigure, or uninstall it while testing. This article: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3125 provides additional tips that will help rule out security software issues.

I dropped my iphone and now its stuck on recovery mode.

i dropped my iphone on the kitchen floor and it went completely off. Now i got it on to show something on the screen, but its just stays only on recovery mode. I plug phone into itunes to try to restore and after the restoring process is complete, it gives me a error -1. Then goes right back to recovery mode. Does any of you know how i can fix this problem and get my itunes to read the phone so i can restore it please?

There is no magic that can fix broken hardware.

TS1538 In Windows Vista my iPod Touch is recognised as a stills camera and the driver will not install. Any ideas?

Since I updated my iPhone on iOS 5, the sound coming out of the speakers and the headphones has gotten worse. Any idea how I can resolve this problem?

I don't know what happened to it. I just updated it and now, the sound comes out tinny and overdriven. My setting were just as before, but the sound has become very crappy.

You're pressed the volume switch top right side to go up ??
If that doesn't help ...
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If that doesn't help, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings
Then try sound.

As pdroth said, you should have gotten a backup made when you started the update of iOS. If you cannot find a backup, and the phone is in recovery mode, there are no futher suggestions to make. To get the phone working again you have to restore. You cannot force a backup at this time since it is already in recovery mode. It will not allow anything else but a restore at this point.

My upgrade to iphone software seemed to work but restore failed (1602)- now phone no longer recognised by itunes and itunes only offers restore to factory settings and warns that this will remove all data- also phone is in restore mode- unusable

so I did the itunes upgrade to 10.5.1 and then teh iphone 4 needed to b e upgraded to new ios5.1 - seemed to go all the way through, and the final restore seemed to fail. Now the phone is no longer recognised as personalised, just as iphone. Also i cannot restore from backup, only restore factory settings and i am warned that I will lose all data. Can I force a restore from back up? can I guaruntee that I can keep data from backups??

I'm trying to setup my new iphone and the Apple ID it asks for is my friends old Apple ID that she no longer has access to. How can I fix this so I can use my new phone? The first step asks for my iCloud info but then asks for my friends after I agree to the terms.

The iPhone is new, has never been used. When asked if I want to set it up as a new phone, restore from an iTunes backup, or my iCloud backup I selected iCloud. It then askes for me to sign in with my Apple ID, I then agree to the terms, then it asks for me to sign into my friends Apple ID. She and I have used each other's computers in the past so I assume this is where her information is coming from. The problem is she no longer had that email or Apple ID and has no way of gaining access to it and therefor I am unable to proceed.
I suppose my question is, how can I remove her information from mine so I can setup my new phone using iCloud. Also, I have already checked my Apple ID online and nowhere on my account is her information listed.
