HT1222 Problem installing iTunes on Windows 7
The error I receive is that I there are files missing from the system for the install.
I found instructions to delete the temp file in the appdata area for my username.
This could not be done so I deleted all the files within.
I deinstalled all the apple software including Safari.
Rebooted to ensure registries cleared.
Reinstalled iTunes 10.6 and still same error.
It would appear that the installation does not include all of the files needed to be installed on Windows 7 64 bit.
I now have no apple software installed except for apple update which I was unable to deinstall and without going through the registry and deleting everything apple (concerned I would destablize my system) I have left it installed.
Any ideas would be really helpful...
Thanks in advance.
P.s. ( installation of files were there initially for my iphone 3gs and was attempting to connect my 1st gen ipad to copy some books into it. )
And its not that it gets stuck, it goes sooooo terribly slow

The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.

Problems installing iTunes on Windows Vista
I have searched these and other forums. I have uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes NUMEROUS times. I have cleaned the registry, tried Windows Fix-it, tried to repair Apple Application Software. I have updated the Microsoft.Net Framwork. I continue to get the same error. The software says that it has loaded successfully, but when I try to open the software, I get the following message:
"The procedure entry point AVCFURLAssetInheritURIQueryComponentFromReferencingURIKey could not be located in dynamic link library AVFoundationCF.dll"
My only choice then is to click ok. When I do that, I get a second error message:
"iTunes was not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes Error7 (Windows error #127).
Can someone please help me with the correct fix for these errors or some other ideas of how to get iTunes correctly installed on my computer. I have spent HOURS in the last week researching and re-installing and am at my wits end!For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.

The error report suggests a similar problem to those outlined in the fist and third boxes and is probably the result of an outdated .dll file.

Problems installing iTunes with Windows 8
Hi,
I have recently purchased a laptop with Windows 8. I have appeared to have installed iTunes but when I open it I get an error message saying the following:
Apple application support was not found. Apple application support is required to run iTunes. Please uninstall iTunes, then install iTunes again. Error 2 (windows error)
I have tried installing it and re-installing but this has not helped
I have seen similar questions (and answers) on this forum but I am totally confused by the answers. Could anyone provide with a very clear, jargon-free solution to this problem?
Any help is much appreciated

The section Install missing components has advice on breaking down the iTunes installer into the individual .msi files which might prove useful if a component such as Apple Application Support won't install normally.

What's the precise text of that error message, please? (There's a few different ones I can think of that you might be getting.) -
Problems installing iTunes for windows
Hi,
Just bought a lovely 30Gb black ipod video...however i cannot seem to install iTunes. The route of the issue seems to be that I have Sonic Record Now cd burning software installed already on my machine (straight from the shop).
When uploading for the first time using both the disc and from apple.com I got an error messages that said I had a conflict within the registry, something to do with my previously installed CD burning software - please re-install iTunes. When i removed iTunes my CD drive disappears and i have to do a system restore.
I have tried this a few times with no success - so decided to try and remove the Sonic Record Now programme...when i used the disc after this I just got a standard error message "iTunes has encountered a problem and has to close"....
I have not yet managed to download from apple.com again because i don't have internet at home...but I would imagine that i'll simply get the second error message again as above - i am really getting frustrated.
I gather its not an isolated problem - and have seen a few solutions but all of these seem to depend on a successful download of iTunes from apple.com - something that i can't yet do because of the registry conflict.
any ideas?
thanks

Also you might try just a quicktime standalone install.

HT1926 Problem Installing iTunes for Windows 7
I get the message "Service 'Apple Mobile Device' failed to start when trying to instal. 'Verify you have sufficient priviledges to stsrt system.
Options given are Abort, Retry or Ignore.
Both Retry or Ignore give error message 'iTunes was not installed correctly. Error 7 (Windows error 14001).
iTunes will not open.
Please help !Hello Paul,
Sorry to hear that iTunes is not installing on your computer. I found a couple of articles I think may help with the error messages you are seeing.
I recommend starting with these steps:
Remove and reinstall iTunes and AMDS
If the issue continues after restarting AMDS, then you'll need to remove and reinstall AMDS and iTunes.
Completely uninstall AMDS, iTunes, and all Apple software. Click the appropriate links below for steps:
Windows XP
Windows Vista or Windows 7
Restart the computer.
Download and install (or reinstall) the latest version of iTunes from www.apple.com/itunes. Installing iTunes will also install AMDS.
Restart the computer.
Start iTunes and connect the device. It should be recognized properly in Windows.
You can find the full article here:
How to restart the Apple Mobile Device Service (AMDS) on Windows
http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1567
If you are still getting "Error 7" when trying to do this, I recommend following the steps in this article:

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling - no good. I have tried Microsoft Net repair that doesn't work either. Is there any way itunes can actually work on windows 7 at all?
