HT1222 Why won't my apple password word on iOS update

Why won' t my apple password work to sign in iOS update

The passcode you need to enter is not your Apple password. It is the four digit passcode you enter when turning on your iPad or waking it from sleep after an AutoLock. If you forgot your passcode you'll have to restore the iPad in iTunes.

  • HT1222 Why won't my Apple PW work when I'm trying to update iOS? Plz help!

    Hello~
I am trying to update from iOS 7.1 to iOS 7.1.1.  When I enter my Apple PW, (the PW I used to log on to this site) it says it's invalid. What I'm I missing? I really have no other ideas as to what PW's it could be asking for. Any ideas? Thank you in advance!

Since the update verifies you by your Apple ID, it needs the password that is associated with your apple ID (which may be different from the password you use here with your user name). So, you need to use the password you use to purchase apps, music, etc.

  • Why is my new apple password not fully working?

Why is my new apple password not recognized when updating apps or trying to use Facetime on I-Pad 2? My new Apple password allows me to access my itunes account and download new apps, but I cannot update existing apps or use Facetime. Also, the new password is not recognized when trying to re-set my ipad 2.
I also had much trouble setting up a new apple password. The information to do this was not sent to the email I use, but to another email of mine.
Any help is appreciated. This is my first post.

    Please explain

  • Why won't my apple tv sync with my new macbook pro, they are both on the same wifi signal

why won't my apple tv sync with my new macbook pro, they are both on the same wifi signal.

Not sure of what? In your second response you said the issue was with airplay. You were also having issues connecting laptop to computer, which points to a laptop connectivity issue. I simply asked if home sharing was an issue as well, since that will confirm the laptop as the cause. Your response that home sharing is on doesn't really help since that doesn't itself have a bearing on airplay nor does it answer the question in regards to if home sharing is working on Apple TV
If you have a further question you will need to be specific.

  • Why won't my apps on my iPhone 4 update?

Why won't my apps on my iphone 4 update?  If I select "update all" OR "update" for individual apps, they still won't update.  I have 18 that need updating. Any advise would be appreciated.

As the iPhone 4 doesn't support iOS 8, it might be useful to establish what phone and iOS you actually have. Go to Settings>General>About. What is the model number? What is the iOS version?
What do you mean by "maps app will not load?". Do you mean the built in Maps app? What happens when you try? What troubleshooting steps have you already taken? Have you tried resetting your device by pressing and holding the Home button and power button until the apple appears?

  • Why won't InDesign break hyphenated words at the hyphen?

Why does InDesign not break hyphenated words at the hyphen?
    For example: "empty-handed".
InDesign will break either "empty" or "handed" on either side of the hyphen. But not right at the hyphen, even if "empty" and "handed" are each set to No Break.
    Anyone know why?
The hypen is typed in normally using the hyphen key on the keyboard.
If I type a space after the hyphen, InDesign will break there, of course: "empty- handed"
InDesign will break at an en-space: "empty–handed".
But I prefer not to have to type a space or insert an en-space or other characters because I also need to export text to ePUB and want only the actual text.
Correct break (if needed) at end of a line should be:
    . . . empty-
    handed . . .

There is no reason why InDesign should avoid breaking hyphenated words at the hyphen. That's the preferred break location.
    This must be a bug.
    Evidence:
When I turn Hyphenation OFF for a paragraph that contains a hyphenated word (such as my example, "empty-handed"), the hyphenated word is correctly broken at the hyphen (if needed at the end of a line). But when I turn hyphenation back ON, the word will not break at the hyphen.
    See the two screenshots below.
    1) Hyphenation is ON. "Empty-handed" is unbrokenat start of Line 3, yet line 2 is very loose, with room to fit "Empty-":
    2) Hyphenation is OFF. "Empty-handed" is broken at the end of line two, at the hyphen (resulting in better word spacing).
By the way, the other settings in this Hyphenation dialog don't affect this issue. I tried changing them all, with no different result relating to the break at the hyphen.

  • Why won't my apple I'd work

I Recently changed my apple Id. And it has updated on apple, but when I. Using my iPad to download apps and it asks for password it still states the old email address so I am unable to log in. How do I change that setting ?

Try logging out of your account on the iPad by tapping on the id in Settings > Store (Settings > iTunes & App Stores on iOS 6) and then log back in and see if that 'refreshes' the account on it.

  • HT5957 I've deleted data from my iCloud and purchased the 10 gb plan. Why won't my I phone5 let me now update to ios7??

I've deleted all data from my I cloud acct. purchased the 10 gb plan. Why won't my I phone let's load the new iOS 7?  It says I need 3.9 gb of room which is why I deleted all I cloud info. Does it need tr to register the changes?

Did you get a message on your phone about not enough storage space and therefore could not update the iOS?
The storage space referred to in a message like that is the space on your device. It is not the amount of iCloud storage you have. What you need to do is delete enough files, photos, videos, apps etc. from your iPhone so as to free up enough space on the phone so that you can download the update.

  • Why won't my computer let Itunes download the update

  • HT1338 Why won't my MacBook 10.5.8 receive updates?

When I click on "software update" it opens, and after it runs it reports that no new software is available. This has been happening for a few months, and I am beginning to get worried that Apple is no longer sending updates to the old MacBooks (I have a 2009 generation MacBook). Is there a way to download a software update via the Apple website? Thanks for any help!

There are no updates. 10.5.8 is the end of Leopard. To upgrade you must purchase Snow Leopard, Lion, or Mountain Lion depending on what your computer can support.
What updates do you wish to download? You can find standalone updaters at support.apple.com/downloads/. For OS X upgrades see:
Upgrading to Snow Leopard, Lion, or Mountain Lion
You can upgrade to Mountain Lion from Lion or directly from Snow Leopard. Mountain Lion can be downloaded from the Mac App Store for $19.99. To access the App Store you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.6 or later installed.
You can purchase Snow Leopard by contacting Customer Service: Contacting Apple for support and service. The price is $29.00 plus tax. You will receive physical media - DVD - by mail.
Third-party sources for Snow Leopard are:
    Snow Leopard from Amazon.com
    Snow Leopard from eBay
After you install Snow Leopard you will have to download and install the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1 to update Snow Leopard to 10.6.8 and give you access to the App Store.
You can purchase Lion by contacting Customer Service: Contacting Apple for support and service. The cost is $19.99 (as it was before) plus tax.  It's a download.
Be sure your computer meets the minimum requirements:
Apple - OS X Mountain Lion - Read the technical specifications.
Macs that can be upgraded to OS X Mountain Lion
      1. iMac (Mid 2007 or newer)
      2. MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer)
      3. MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer)

      5. Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer)
      6. Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer)
