I've got about 2500 songs on my iphone, i have recently replaced my computer because the old one crashed, so i lost all the songs in the itunes library. My question is, it seems that now i am unable to drag/drop new downloaded songs without syncing my iphone & losing my 2500 songs from the phone?
You cannot. Iphone will sync/manually manage music with one and only one computer at a time. Syncing/manually managing with another will erase the current content from the iphone.
It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer. Use your backup copy to put everything back.

Drag & Drop for bookmarking a link from Address bar to Bookmarks Toolbar is not working in 4.0. Was working in 3.6, then I upgraded to 4.0 and everything got screwed up. How can I fix this?
I ditched 4.0 and went back to 3.6.17 but I can't drag and drop with it either. The Favicom idea didn't work for me either. Once in a great while it will work, but usually that ends up screwing up my bookmarks and everything being re-arranged. How could something so simple and basic NOT WORK anymore?

Why can't I drag a new library audiobook from my MacBook to my iPhone to listen to anymore?
I keep lots of audiobooks on my computer; and & when I'm ready to listen to them, I drag them onto my current device, which in this case, is my iPhone 5. But this morning it wouldn't drag. Help! I just got 4 great books from the library and want to hear them! I've been doing this for years, and have my books on a TB (1000GB) hard-drive, obviously more than my iPhone can handle at one time. Ibooks are for ipod touch/iphone/ipad, not your computer.

I have lost my iphone 3. I have placed it in Lost Mode however it is only showing my last location at 7 pm last night. How can i see the last 24 hours? it is in Grey so not on..
Find My iPhone only keeps a history of locations after you put it in lost mode. It also has to be online to provide an updated location.

Everytime I try to update to iOS5 on my iPhone 4 I get an error containing 0xE while it is backing up data from the iPhone before installing the new operating system. I have done everything suggested in Apple support with no success. I still get the error everytime (about 5 minutes into backing up iPhone data). How can I upgrade to iOS5 without losing all the data on my iPhone (the error message says that if I continue I will lose all data on the phone)? If I have already synced the phone before upgrading the OS, would I be able to restore my data after installing the new OS by syncing after the OS upgrade is complete? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I had the same problem today and was able to resolve it without having to do a restore or reset. The problem had something to do with my mail accounts. The upgrade reset my mail settings, switching both my gmail and my .mac mail to "archive all mail". I went into the General Settings, disabled that setting, and resynced the phone. The "other" storage allottment dropped back down to less than a gig.
Before you restore or reset, I would try that first. -
i accidentally uploaded songs from cds to the wrong itunes library. i would like to move those songs to the regular itunes library that i use to purchase and download music, since my ipod cant sync to both libraries. how can i do this? please advise? thank you.

Hello, I am running Mac os 10.6.8. It is shutting down without warning when I walk away from the computer for about 5 minutes. It happened twice. It was not asleep, i had to turn the computer back on...Any ideas...

The next time the problem happens, note the date and time the problem occurred, then go to Applications/Utilities/Console and copy the log starting at the time of the crash. Paste the log in a reply. Please do not use a screen shot as they can be hard to read. If there are repeated runs of the same messages, please post only one run. Be selective about what you post and don’t post huge amounts. Issue: I synced my iphone with itunes, I then deleted many songs from the iphone, when I sync to itunes again is there any way to have itunes duplicate what it sees on the iphone rather than the other way around?
so, if I delete all music on itunes then connect my iphone all my music on the iphone will then be deleted?

When I sync my photos to iPhoto from my iPhone 4S it like saves about 200 on my phone. I really don't like that because they're like really old and stay the same... Can you take that setting off? Or just make it you most recent pictures instead? It's really annoying because they're like year old pics
it had to do with Maverick/Aperture not supporting the same date formats as before in Smart Albums when I upgraded.
Smart albums based on dates have always been problematic, if you use smart settings that require a date string to be entered. How the date string will be interpreted, will depend on your settings in the System Preferences > Language&Text > Advanced > Dates formats and the "Region".
It is much safer to use "Calendar" rules in Aperture instead of "Date" rules with date-strings. Calendar rules will remain valid, if the region settings are changed in the System preferences. -
If I have loaded all my photos from my iPhone 5 to my computer, can I safely delete them from the iPhone without totally losing them?

just recently my iphone is not syncing calendar to my macbook. It has worked all along until about a week ago. It does transfer new items from the computer to the iphone but not from the iphone to the computer.
Plug you iPhone into your computer, select the iPhone, select the photos tab. Now check (not uncheck) the sync photos from... Select the folder where the photo came from, click apply then sync, now uncheck the sync photos box, click apply, it will ask you if you want to remove the photos click remove, it will not delete other photos exept the ones in the folder that was synced. Then click sync and the photos will be removed

What a pain -on a mac- never had aproblem- loaded a new shuffle with music - will not let me sync itunes store bought songs- will not let me authorize the computer. I have a ipod as well. Is this a block when loading a second device? OR?
In iTunes, do Store->View my AppleID
Click "Deuthorize ALL"
Then, on any computers you still have, do Store->Authorize this computer. If there are less than 5, you will have no problem.
You can only do "deauthorize all" once a year, so in the future, if you ever throw a computer away, remember do to "Store->Deauthorize this computer" first. -
I am getting messages about being out of space on my phone for taking any more photos. I am scared to delete anything with all the photo stream and syncing that happens cause I don't want the photo to delete in many places at the same time.
So, 1) when is it safe to delete from the iPhone? 2) I feel like I have multiple copies of photos stored between the phone, Photos Library in iPhoto and all my albums in iPhoto. Is there a best practice document on how to manage your photos for space savings?

How do I delete songs from the iPhone??
hey guys, I read that in order to delete songs from the iPhone you need to remove the songs from iTunes then re-sync it. I did that but the songs are still in the iPhone and are no longer on iTunes. Songs are all greyed out in iPhone. Please help, thanks.

Select the option to "Sync only checkmarked items", and then uncheck them in iTunes.
Alternatively you can specify specific playlists to sync to the iPhone, and have the items you want to sync in those playlists.
