HT1270 how to uninstall application

how to uninstall application?

You can just drag it to the Trash, if it doesn't come with an uninstaller. If it comes with an uninstaller, use that. I also use a little app called AppDelete to get rid of auxiliary files that may be left behin by simply dragging an app to the Trash. There is a 'free' version called AppCleaner. Some people use these apps, some are vehemently opposed to using such apps - I've never had any trouble.

  • How to uninstall applications I installed from Application store?

Can anybody show me how to uninstall applications I installed from Application store?
I mean I want to remove the applications completely from my iphone, not just hide the icons.

    Page 127 of the manual:
"You can delete applications you’ve installed from the App Store. If you delete an
application, data associated with the application will no longer be available to iPhone,
even if you reinstall the application.
You can reinstall any application and any associated data from your iTunes library
as long as you backed up the application by syncing to your computer. If you try to
delete an application that hasn’t been backed up to your computer, an alert appears.
    Delete an App Store application:
1 Touch and hold any application icon on the Home screen until the icons start to
    wiggle.
2 Tap the “x” in the corner of the application you want to delete.
3 Tap Delete, then press the Home button to save your arrangement."

    Uninstalling Software: The Basics
Most OS X applications are completely self-contained "packages" that can be uninstalled by simply dragging the application to the Trash.  Applications may create preference files that are stored in the /Home/Library/Preferences/ folder.  Although they do nothing once you delete the associated application, they do take up some disk space.  If you want you can look for them in the above location and delete them, too.
Some applications may install an uninstaller program that can be used to remove the application.  In some cases the uninstaller may be part of the application's installer, and is invoked by clicking on a Customize button that will appear during the install process.
Some applications may install components in the /Home/Library/Applications Support/ folder.  You can also check there to see if the application has created a folder.  You can also delete the folder that's in the Applications Support folder.  Again, they don't do anything but take up disk space once the application is trashed.
Some applications may install a startupitem or a Log In item.  Startupitems are usually installed in the /Library/StartupItems/ folder and less often in the /Home/Library/StartupItems/ folder.  Log In Items are set in the Accounts preferences.  Open System Preferences, click on the Accounts icon, then click on the LogIn Items tab.  Locate the item in the list for the application you want to remove and click on the "-" button to delete it from the list.
Some software use startup daemons or agents that are a new feature of the OS.  Look for them in /Library/LaunchAgents/ and /Library/LaunchDaemons/ or in /Home/Library/LaunchAgents/.
If an application installs any other files the best way to track them down is to do a Finder search using the application name or the developer name as the search term.  Unfortunately Spotlight will not look in certain folders by default.  You can modify Spotlight's behavior or use a third-party search utility, EasyFind 4.9, instead.
Some applications install a receipt in the /Library/Receipts/ folder.  Usually with the same name as the program or the developer.  The item generally has a ".pkg" extension.  Be sure you also delete this item as some programs use it to determine if it's already installed.
There are many utilities that can uninstall applications.  Here is a selection:
    AppZapper 2.0.1
    AppDelete 3.2.6
    Automaton 1.50
    Hazel
    AppCleaner 2.1.0
    CleanApp
    iTrash 1.8.2
    Amnesia
    Uninstaller 1.15.1
    Spring Cleaning 11.0.1
Look for them at VersionTracker or MacUpdate.

  • How to uninstall applications, such as old versions of Photoshop, etc.?

What's the proper way to uninstall applications, such as previous versions of Photoshop, InDesign, etc.? I've read that the uninstall procedure resides on the "root" folder -- but where's that?

Apps that are installed via an installer usually also include an uninstaller. Others that you drag & drop to Applications are uninstalled by dropping them into the trash. Do note that remnants might be scattered about in various Application Support, Cache, and Preference folders. Those you'll have to manually find and delete.

  • How to uninstall applications in SCCM 2012 R2

    Hi,
We have installed following applications using "Applications" mode of SCCM 2012 R2.
    XML Notepad
    Notepad++
    Adobe Reader XI
How do we uninstall these applications from clients using SCCM 2012 R2? Do we create deployment type for each and uninstall?

You can configure an install and uninstall command line for each deployment type. Then there are 'install' and 'uninstall' deployments. Uninstall deployments can be used to uninstall software. Keep in mind that an install deployments wins over an uninstall
deployment if both are deployed to the same machine.

How to remove or uninstalled completely application in MacBook Pro?

If all you did to install an application was drag it to the Applications folder, it will be completely uninstalled by dragging it to the Trash and emptying the Trash. How many other files that you've trashed and emptied can you still find on your computer?
Why bother to ask questions if you aren't going to believe the answers you're given? That's just a waste of your time and the time of anyone who answers you.

please help me to unistall this application

perhaps try switching off the phone first - the application (even though is incompatible) may be running and that's why you can't uninstall.
once you switch phone back on, go to the app manager and try uninstalling.
if that fails, you could always go to the file manager and delete the file that way...

  • How to uninstall application Epudl from Epson

Help please.....I have foolishly installed a software bundle from Epson which includes an ap called Epudl. Simply, it's driving me insane! I have tried to delete or uninstall every file that I can find fron Epson but it still rears it's head every single minute and freezes temporarily any opened window or work in progress.
    Any ideas most gratefully received....Cheers!

Thanks Paul....I have tried all sorts of things and have finally succeded with this "fix" from another forum participant! Without this advice I would never have found the elusive files: I cleaned up with Clean My Mac 2, a great app and well worth the  20 euros!
Huge thanks to both yourself and Flavio for the solutions! Cheers! Nick

Re: Several odd things - linked or not?
Mar 4, 2010 10:39 AM (in response to Tompoes)
I think (hope!) I got it. The little bas*ard is being launched by another Epson application, namely Epusp.app. This in turns gets launched as agent, its configuration file is in /Library/LaunchAgents/com.epson.Epusp.plist The application itself is located close to Epudl.app, i.e. in /Library/Application\ Support/Epson/InkjetPrinter/Epusp.app (Epudl.app is in /Library/Application\ Support/Epson/InkjetPrinter/Epudl.app). The main program is /Library/Application\ Support/Epson/InkjetPrinter/Epusp.app/Contents/MacOS/Epusp and it's quite interesting to launch strings on it:         $ strings Epusp | grep Epudl
            open /Library"/Application Support"/Epson/InkjetPrinter/Epudl.app
            Epudl
(there is also a scary 'http://go.epson.com/redirect.aspx' in the program...) So it seems that Epusp launches Epudl. To disable it I used launchctl, which controls launchd:         $ launchctl unload -w /Library/LaunchAgents/com.epson.Epusp.plist I also saw another Epson-related file in LaunchAgents, so I disabled it as well. I hope this helps,     Flavio.
