HT1277 10.8.5 update killed Exchange Mail account

I updated my OSX to 10.8.5 and my Exchange mail account in Mail.app immediately quit working. Any suggestions?

I am also having problems since the 10.8.5 upgrade. For whatever its worth, I am only having problems with Apple Mail. Unfortunately, the problems with Apple Mail led me to set up Outlook on my Mac and that works fine. Mail also works on my iOS devices. Only on my MacBook and only since the moment I upgraded to 10.8.5.

10.6.5 update killed Exchange Mail account access

Directly after applying v10.6.5 (incremental update first, then combo update after this problem was discovered) update to my v10.6.4 Mac Mini, I completely lost connection of Exchange email in both Mail (v4.4) and Outlook 2011 (v14.0.1).
I tried making new mail accounts = no joy
I tried making a whole new user and new mail accounts for Outlook and Mail = no joy.
The irony is, the very first item mentioned in the 10.6.5 fixes list (http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1325) is "Improves reliability with Microsoft Exchange servers"
I'm not updating any more machines until this gets figured out.

I have just applied 10.6.5 to my Macbook through software update. I loaded up all my email programs, and each one could connect and send mail. As well as, receive it.
I am using Mail 4.4, Entourage Web Services 13.0.4, and Outlook 2011 (I haven't run the update patch yet) connected to an Exchange 2010 box.
As stated above, it may be a 2007 pre SP1 issue possibly. As Exchange 2010 works fine for me.
Check with your various IT people with regards to what version you are running, and make sure it's up to date.

Exchange mail account not getting deleted - Iphone froze

Exchange mail account is not getting deleted if i try it and
it frozes the iphone.
Switch off the phone and restarting doesn't help
Same thing happens when you try to change contact off in exchange mail properties.

I have the same or a similar problem - after my update to the firmware on friday, i have intermittent ability to download email.
i have 4 accounts on my phone - a mobile me account, 2 accounts through Cox servers, and my exchange account. I was able to download from all accounts just once after updating the firmware 3 days ago.
The Cox accounts are the only ones that work - and only sometimes. outbound emails become phantom emails and go nowhere.
I lost the domain information in my exchange account. when i go in to update it, it freezes and won't save the new domain or let me leave the settings screen unless I hit the home or sleep/wake buttons.
i tried deleting the exchange account to recreate it, but it freezes on that.
I lost my calendar entirely.
i had to resync my contacts.
this is worse (much worse) than before the firmware fixes.

I am having trouble getting an Exchange mail account set up on my 5s. I get a message back that says "cannot verify server identity." When I click for more details an account shows up that is not my company and is a "not trusted" account. How do I change this information to my correct company information?

Since it is a company phone ask your IT guys to set up the email account for you.

I have just setup an exchange mail account on my iphone to acces smy business emails and many of my settings have defaulted. As an example, my passcode has defaulted to a minimum of 6 digits and my phone will erase all data after 10 failed attempts. These are now greyed out and I cannot change them.
Is this a default set by Apple/Microsoft?
Or was this a setting enforced by my company, whose mail exchange I am accessing?

ditto what KT said...the passcode requirement enables the encryption of the local storage of your device and auditing of that policy ..it protects your organization AND you from potential data loss and a mandatory reporting obligation..imagine how miserable it would be to see the name of your organization on the front page of your local newspaper with a story about data loss....every IT and risk management department's worst nightmare

Exchange mail account has to reload all mail again when turned on each time in IOS 6

I regularly turn my exchange mail account off as I don't need it on all the time. However now with IOS 6, as soon as I turn it on again the previous, say 60 emails are not there as they were in IOS 5, and it has to reload them all again. Is this normal? Is there something I'm not doing right to keep them saved on the iphone? It's a real pain to reload all emails again.

I was using an alias on iOS5 and it worked, iOS6 I started seeing myself in the reply all CC line. I changed my exchange account settings in iPhone to match the exchange servers email address and it fixed the issue.

Is it possible? -With Panther or Tiger? I've seen some third party software, but natively?
I've "Bind" my Mac to my Active Directory via Directory Access successfully. I'm able to configure my Mail client -to point to my account in Exchange. And I'm able to view my Exchange Distribution List successfully via Mac Address Book.
My next project is to sync my Exchange Mail Account Calendar with iCal.
Any suggestions? I'd appreciate it.

Can you name the third-party apps? I own Groupcal and I am starting to get fed up by their inability to get a proper working app for Tiger. I am using 2.5 beta now, but there are still too many issues with it. I am searching for an alternative solution, but have not yet been succesful.

All contacts gone after deleting old Outlook (exchange) mail account from iphone. How to get contacts back?

I deleted an old company mail account and when doing so it deleted all the contacts on the iphone. How can I get them back? Can I do a restore where I import ONLY the contacts? Or does Restore just overwrite everything?
When I connect my phone with itunes and go to the "Info" tab, it asks me if I want to "Sync Contacts with Outlook" where outlook is a choice from a dropdown menu. The question I have is what contacts are stored on itunes, if any, and which way it will write them ---> phone to itunes or itunes to phone. Since my phone contact folder is empty right now, I want to get these back from itunes. I am hoping those outlook contacts are stored on itunes and can then be downloaded to my phone, but I do not want to do a complete restore as the last time the phone was synced was a long time ago and contacts will be lost. If the sync writes an empty contacts folder onto itunes then the restore will not even be an option. Just want to make sure I do not overwrite any contacts that are stored on itunes.
By the way, icloud for contacts was not on so I do not have that route of recovery.
Help.

Exchange contacts exist only on the Exchange server, and are automatically deleted when the account is remove. This is standard security policy of Exchange accounts. They would not have been backed up to iCloud in any event.

1. Select Mail-->Preferences
2. Select the Accounts icon and click the + button in the lower left corner.

Not able to configure Exchange mail account on Xperia Z1 (android version 4.4.2)

I have updated the android version of my phone to the latest of kitkat (14.3.A.0.757). After which configuring the exchane mail (corporate mail account) but it is not configuring. Every time it keeps 'checking incoming server settings' for indefinite time. I thought it might be taking time so i left the phone in the same situation for overnight but no result in morning. It looks like a bug in the latest version of kitkat on Xperia. Please suggest a solution.

Hi and welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.
First make sure that you have a working Internet connection in the phone.
You can download Internet and MMS settings for your phone by going to Setting > More > Internet settings.
If you have a working Internet connection but still not able to connect to your E-mail server or sync your E-mails check that no Proxy server within your APN settings may be blocking this. You can check this by going to Settings > More (Wireless & networks) > Mobile networks > APN or Access Point Names > Your Internet APN. Check if any details are set for Proxy and Proxy port. If yes you can try to delete them (temporarily) and save the APN. Now check if you’re able to connect or sync with your E-mail server.
You can also verify suspected Internet connection issues by trying via a Wi-Fi network instead.

Block Time Machine backup of a single Exchange mail account?

Is it possible to tell Time Machine to not backup one particular e-mail account? speaking here about a corporate exchange account, accessed on my Mac only via Mail app.

Try this. System Preferences/Time Machine/Options, click the + sign and navigate to the account.
Your mailboxes are in your User Library folder which is hidden by default.
Either hold down the option key while using the Finder “Go To Folder” command and select your user Library in your home folder or use the Finder “Go To Folder” command and enter ~/Library/Mail/V2.

My macbook pro is unable to connect to may exchange mail account

This was not a problem until my tech division found me accessing the interened but not their servers while at work. Not sure how this works but they blocked me from using my macbook pro and eversince then I mostly can not use my macbook pro to get my exchange mail. It messed up on my phone as well. My iMac at home has not problem. Any suggestions?

I have tried to setup a mail account using exchange but the exchange option is not available in 3.6 for new account setup. I am told it should be any ideas on how I might do this

It is available, normally -- do you yet have any Exchange account, or would this be the first? I have seen reports of unavailability for a second account, but have not verified.
Hold down the Option key when clicking on the + to add an account -- in this mode which bypasses the account setup assistant, is the Exchange option offered?
