HT1277 In Mail, all of my servers show "Offline".

In the last couple of days, Mail will not send any mail out.  Mail comes in.  All servers (Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo) show Offline.  What is the fix?

I got same issue, mail comes in, but not send any mail out.

  • All Send mail servers show offline...POP & IMAP

So all my outgoing mail servers are showing offline...this includes .Mac, an IMAP company email and POP company email....has been like this for a couple days.
I get mail okay, all other internet functions seem fine...
Using a Airport Extreme router...might that be blocking it?
Have tried a few different ports recommended on other discussions, but no luck so far...
    HELP

Two things that might help...(mine is working now)..
    1) If you are using little snitch uninstall it.
    2) I ended up removing all my preferences. First go to User>Library>Mail and copy that to your desktop to back up your mail. Then copy all your prefs from user>Library>Preferences to a backup folder. Then delete them. Restart you computer. All your doc settings, etc will be gone but that might fix the issue. Then you can either start fresh or copy the prefs back one by one until you figure out the issue.
    3) If you want to reimport your mail (if you have saved mail on your comp) go to mail>file>import mailboxes and reimport your mail folder from your desktop.

  • All agentless monitored servers showing same percent memory used

I have 13 servers that are managed agentless via a proxy agent on the gateway server. I do this as when I had them set up to use the agent, the agent was consuming too much CPU on the servers. So, all appears to be fine, it is pulling in the percent CPU
usage and such, and recognizes the OS version and what not. The issue I have, is I set up a dashboard with a performance widget to track the percent memory used. All of my agentless monitored servers show the same percentage, and the percentage is also much
higher than what I see on the actual servers. So, it appears that there may be some form of roll up or something on the agentless servers, or it's taking the highest from the group, or I'm not drilling into the right counter or something. I have two widgets,
one that is performance and one that is performance object. The performance one grabs the object "Memory", counter of "PercentMemoryUsed", with no performance instance selected (although I have also tried "all"). The performance
object widget selects the same performance counter (Memory / PercentMemoryUsed /) and again have also tried "all" there as well. This allows the performance widget to graph/show the last value and maximum value, while the performance object shows
me the average sorted from highest to lowest. I have another server that is agent managed in the same list, that shows what appears to be accurate information...and there is also a performance counter for cpu usage that appears to have accurate data for all
of the above (agent and agentless). So, why am I seeing this issue with my agentless servers?

  • IPod touch is tripling my messages from mail.  Doesn't happen all the time.  Upon checking my mail, all incoming messages will show up at least 3 times.

iPod Touch is showing my mail messages tripled.  Incoming messages show up three times instead of as only one message.

I've tried reindexing dozens of times.  It never makes a difference.  I have another issue today.
I just went through a smart "unread" mailbox of 200 messages.  I individually selected all but 4 emails and deleted them all.  After they were deleted, I went to my regular inbox to find an old mesage and all the 196 emails I had just deleted were still in there.

  • Photosmart all in one B210a showing offline - no connection to MAC OSX 10.8.5 nor IPad

NEVERMIND!  It's working now!  (Of course as soon as I give up after 4 hours and contact the Forum, NOW it works!!)
    Thanks anyway!
Changed my router from the factory default name and password settings.  Reconfigured printer to recognize router, and the display & printed page said there was no problem / set up successful.  Then I downloaded the most recent update to my printer from HP website.  The only "device" found was HP Photosmart "[F7E632] Bonjour multifunction."  (I never saw anything prior to this with the F-coding nor "bonjour" information.)  Now when I try to print from the Mac, the print que message says the printer "may not exist or is unavailable at this time."  When I try to print from the IPad, it says the printer "is offline."
I'm not that computer savvy, and I am COMPLETELY at a loss as to how to troubleshoot this.  Can someone help me?
    Thank you.

    Hi @Riversend ,
I understand you were able to resolve the issue you were experiencing. I am sorry to hear that it had been so time consuming. If you ever need support in the feature of course you can come back to the HP Forums, but you can always use your printer support page as well.

  • Mail has stopped sending all mail.  Insist that outgoing servers are offline.  Have checked all setting preferences for outgoing servers including user name and password.

Mail has stopped sending all email.  Says all outgoing servers are offline and server certificate are invalid.  Have gone into preferences/accounts/edit SMTP servers and reentered all data including user name and password.
Have had  this happen before and had to upgrade to Maverick to cure it.

So? What's your problem? BTW, you show SL as the OS, but mention installing Mavs. Very confusing.

  • Since installing Yosemite outgoing mail fails. ckd settings all ok.  all outgoing servers say (offline)  incoming mail ok

Since installing Yosemite outgoing mail fails in Apple Mail.  All the servers show (off line)  I have checked setting and they are all okay.  Incoming mail works.  Any help would be appreciated.

    Linc,
Hopefull this is what you asked me to do.

Jailbreaking violates the Apple warranty and licensing agreement and voids ALL support from Apple.  No one on here can help you as doing so is a violation of the Terms of Use of these Communities.  If you send the iPad to Apple they will just send it back to you as they are not permitted to work on a machine that has been jailbroken.

  • All of my Outgoing Servers are Offline in Apple Mail

I'm using a Macbook Pro running 10.8.4. I've been using Apple Mail with four separate GMAIL accounts and haven't really had any issues until today. Suddenly, all four outgoing servers (SMTP) are offline. The incoming servers are fine. When I run the mail connection doctor, all the SMTP accounts say:
"Could not connect to the SMTP server. Check your network connection and that you entered the correct inforation in the Account preferences. Also verify that the server supports SSL. If it does not, deselct the "Use SSL" checkbox in the Advance tab of Account preferences."
Thinking this was a strange message (since nothing has changed on my accounts since yesterday), I attemped unchecking the SSL checkbox to no avail. I also went through and re-entered my gmail settings. Also, the fact that ALL FOUR of my accounts are offline is rather suspicious. I've done a bit of googling, and tried changing the default ports with no success there as well. Anybody have any suggestions?

Do not worry i have exact the same when saying offline and have no idea why this was on yesterday but today this gone by itself now so im sure u be ok next day or so.....gudluck

  • Anyone having an issue with the actual saved mail in Gmail folders not showing up in the folders of iMail after update?

After the update to X Mavericks, the Mac I updated first (and set up with iCloud for the first time using my Gmail account) is no longer syncing the mail on iMail with the Gmail folders.  Thus, new mail shows up and syncs fine.  I can also see the folders for saved items moved out of the inbox but no actual mail shows up inside the folders.  Interestingly, if I open a saved mail item using Gmail on Safari, the mail then does show up on iMail.  Also of note, the sync occurred perfectly on my Air after same update.
    Any thoughts?

I agree, and if you have a large amount of mail on the Gmail servers it might take over 24 hours to sync.  I have about 18 GB of mail on Gmail and it took over 24 hours to sync.  I went to Mailbox on the menu bar and forced the sync serval times, but I don't believe that speeded up the process.  I first upgraded my Macbook Air and compared it with my iMac.  There was a big differnce in the Inbox on my Macbook Air for several days.  Now a week after the upgrade, all folders appeat to have synced.  Next week I will probably upgrade my iMac to Mavericks.

  • I updated my iMac, and my mail no longer works. It says all of my accounts are "offline". Safari is fine. How do I get my accounts back online?

I updated my iMac and now my Mail does not work. It says all of my accounts are"offline". Safari is fine. How do I get my accounts back online?

    Hello there, Lynn.
The following Knowledge Base article explains and offers up some troubleshooting recommendations for issues with email acounts showing offline on Mac Mail:
Mail (Mavericks): If a mailbox is offline
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH14925
Lightning bolt icons next to mailboxes in the Mail sidebar identify accounts that are offline.
To take an account online, click the lightning bolt icon. Or choose Mailbox > Online Status > Take [account name] Online, or Mailbox > Take All Accounts Online.
If you can’t take an account online, make sure you’re connected to the Internet. If a warning icon appears after the account name, click it for more information.
    Use Connection Doctor
Some mailbox names can appear dimmed if you don’t have permission to access them, such as “public” mailboxes on a server, or if the mail server is unavailable.
Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities.
    Cheers,
    Pedro.

Lightning is a problem for you because it hooks into Thunderbird at a low level and you need a version compiled for the platform Thunderbird is running on. So you can't do the preferred solution, which is to put your whole profile in a shared folder and have both instances of Thunderbird reference the same profile. (Ditto for Enigmail). Lightning may become an integral part of Thunderbird in an upcoming release, at which point this limitation due to Lightning should disappear.
And if you can't use a shared profile, you can't set your Lightning, or your Address Book, to share a common set of files. Put another way, the linkage from Thunderbird to its address book files and calendar data is hard-coded, and not exposed where we can adjust it. :-(
The halfway house is to place your mail stores in a shared place, and use the Local Directory setting in each account's settings to connect to it. They don't need to be in the profile; what's more important in your case is that they are in a folder accessible to both operating systems.
Look in your profile; everything under Mail and ImapMail needs to be moved out to a shared folder. Note the entries in Thunderbird under Local Directory before you do this, and reconstruct those pathnames in Thunderbird, but adjusted to suit their new locations.
(You can see here that you need to make many adjustments, one per account, in each instance of Thunderbird, so it's a high-maintenance solution and this is why we don't recommend it when the alternative, moving the whole profile, is possible.)
I share address books and calendars between Thunderbirds on various computers (and my phone and tablet) by syncing to something in the cloud; Google Contacts and Google Calendar are my choices, using gContactSync and CalDav.
Having made the break myself some years ago, I'd recommend you break away from Windows. ;-)

The mailbox list is divided into categories with headings in caps, such as ON MY MAC. When you hover the cursor over one of those headings (except for MAILBOXES), you should see the word Show or Hide on the right. Click Show. The  MAILBOXES category can't be hidden.
In each category, the mailboxes are arranged in groups, such as Inbox. To the left of each group is a small disclosure triangle. If the triangle points to the right, click it so that it points down.

  • ICal, iChat and Mail All Crashing After 10.6.1 Update

I just thought I'd people a heads up here. While it could be isolated, on my 2.8 MBP 15" Unibody, while 10.6.0 had been working well, now under 10.6.1 Mail, iCal and iChat all hang on application launch. All three crash reports show:
    Exception Type: EXCBADACCESS (SIGSEGV)
    Exception Codes: 0x000000000000000d, 0x0000000000000000
Crashed Thread: 0 Dispatch queue: com.apple.main-thread
Each of these are the 64-bit apps. I'm looking for a solution, but if anyone is aware of what's going on here, I'd love to know!

same issue for me. i've talked about this alot in other threads
I get the same type of exception type : EXCBADACCESS (SIGSERGV)
But for me the exception code says KERNINVALIDADDRESS
anyway, 10.6.1 does nothing to fix this.

  • Growl not working in Mail 4.5 - no applications show

Typical, it had to be complicated with me!
OK, so I had growled installed before, but I couldn't find it anywhere, so I installed it again.
It didn't work with mail (or anything for that matter, tho I didn't give it a chance - I only tested mail). All the applications were showing in the list of applications in the Growl Menu.
So, I tried what is in this post. Only trouble is in the section you mention there are two folders: Bundles (with nothing in it) and Bundles (Disabled) (which has the files you talk about in it. I added in the two lines above the 10 or so other lines and saved. Restarted mail, restarted mac. Nothing. No notification for new mails.
I then uninstalled everything again and manually removed the files it says on the Growl Website. It didn't mention to, but I also put the two 'Bundles' folders in the trash (but didn't delete) to see if Growl, when I installed it again, but add a new folder in. It didn't.
I uninstalled Growl again and put the folders back and then re-installed Growl.
None of my applications showed in the preference list.
So I closed and opened mail. Nothing. I restarted the mac. Now Omnifocus shows, but no other applications.
    Any ideas?
    PS - I'm on version 10.6.8
    - I have posted this here too:
https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2792475?start=0&tstart=0 but I think it is an old thread.

I got growl mail to work again afterwards.
You need to change 1 info.plist file. (use textedit to modify)
    With mail off.
Go to your user login directory and follow this path:-
    ~/Library/Mail/Bundles/GrowlMail.mailbundle/Contents/
    Info.plist
    open up info.plist
and in the area under <key>SupportedPluginCompatibilityUUIDs</key>
    Then add:
    <string>9049EF7D-5873-4F54-A447-51D722009310</string>
    <string>1C58722D-AFBD-464E-81BB-0E05C108BE06</string>
save the file and now Growl is once again working...
