HT1277 setup yahoo mail on iPad
I am having problems setting up my yahoo email account on my new ipad. I had it set up on my old one, but have since removed the account and provided the old iPad to my son.
Can someone provide some assitance
Just go to the settings, mail, contacts and calendars, choose the yahoo template and follow the prompts to fill in the blanks.

It sounds like you might need to contact Yahoo! if you aren't able to setup your email account as a new account after deleting it.

Cannot access my yahoo mail in iPad. Receive it on my iPhone. Have stopped & started both. Put the fetch to "off" & manually. Not sure what else to do.comes up with message "connection to server failed". This started when I transferred my service to a iPhone 4 to a 4s.
Reinstalling would be about the most useless thing you could do, given that the test with the other User account works -- that means the application is OK.
The next step that would be indicated would to remove the com.apple.mail.plist file from Home/Library/Preferences, after having Quit Mail. Subsequently when you relaunch Mail it will open as though New, but if you only enter the setup information for each account, and DECLINE when prompt to ask if you want to Import anything. Mail should rediscover the existing account folders, and all should be well.
As a precaution, open Home/Library and locate the Mail folder -- Duplicate the Mail folder, and drag the resulting copy to the Desktop for temporary backup.

I setup my Yahoo mail on a previous iPad. Had to replace it. Now my Yahoo account shows after loading my backup from previous iPad. But can not get to mail, says password incorrect. When I go to setting: Mail, etc. It shows my Yahoo Mail account, but I cannot select or select add a new account. Please, help.
- Try resetting your iPad:
Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- If that does not work hopefully you will then be able to delete and then recreate the account. -
Unable to access Yahoo Mail on iPad 2 Safari App after upgrading iOs 6
I recently upgraded to iOs 6 on iPad 2 device but after installing I'm unable to access Yahoo Mail on Safari App. It let me logged in on my Yahoo account but once I click on Mail icon it tries to download email messages but logs me out after few seconds and then prompts me to re-enter passowrd. I re-enter password and was authenticated and it try load email messages again but logs me out again and goes same loop over and over. Any help would be glady appreciated. Thanks

Something is using my yahoo mail on ipad to send to all my contacts
Something is using my Yahoo mail to send messages to my entire contact list. I believe I know the email it came in with (or on), and have deleted that. I have deleted all mail from inbox and trash, but do not seem to be able to delete drafts. The drafts have all been cancelled and not sent, but still appear on screen. The drafts appear to be the offending messages and have some bizarre to: names as well as my whole contact list.
What is it? What further can I do to couteract? How do I make sure I have taken care of all the damage?Yahoo is horrible at the moment. Out of the 30 spam I may find in a day, over half of them originate from [email protected] The hackers and phishers seem to have gotten into their database bad.
What you're seeing isn't something on your iPad per se, but most likely yahoo itself. Changing the password helps. and make it a tougher one, letters and numbers. -

I cant use yahoo mail on iPhone 5 after changing yahoo password. iPad had no problems, but nothing on iPhone 5, even after looking to "Settings". Keeps saying "Server Failed". Does anyone know how to fix this Gris Gris?
There currently is no solution. Apple lovers will tell you to deal with the yahoo side of things when in fact it is ALL Ape's fault. Imagine my frustration when I finally got an iPhone 5 only to see that Yahoo IMAP mail does not work. Thanks for technology boost, Apple!

Using the mail app? You don't. THe ipad was created to be a single user device so there's no support for locking down any single part of it.
If you have your mail and want to keep it from other users, your best bet is to access yahoo via safari where you can log in and log out. You still get your mail access but it can be locked out as well. -
Syncing contacts from Yahoo Mail to IPad
I have tried to sync my Yahoo contacts to my IPad without success. My wife, who also uses the IPad had been successful in syncing her Exchange contacts but I can't do so from Yahoo.
When I set up Yahoo mail as an account, it doesn't give you the option (in settings) to sync contacts. In setting up an Exchange account (which my wife did) there is a spot to indicate synching contacts in Settings. How do I setup Yahoo mail with OS X Mail?

I am seeing some odd behaviour using Yahoo mail and the Mail app built into OS X. I use UK based Yahoo mail, OS X 10.8.1 and Mail 6.0 that comes included.
In OS X Mail I have the Inbox, Sent and Trash mailboxes listed with the neat icons, then under yahoo.co.uk I have Bulk Mail, Draft, Sent and Trash using folder icons.
All my incoming emails are listed in the OS X Inbox but the Sent box is empty, all my sent emails are under the yahoo.co.uk header. If I send an email from Mail it goes into the OS X Mail Sent folder and doesn't show up in yahoo.co.uk.
If I log into my Yahoo from my iPhone I have duplicated boxes, namely an Inbox, Drafts, Sent, Trash, Bulk Mail, Deleted Messages and Sent Messages. Any messages sent from OS X Mail are not visible.
How do I stop this behaviour? I just want one set of boxes that all synchronise correctly.
Thanks.Never mind, fixed it. Had to highlight the Yahoo boxes, then select Mailbox > Use This Mailbox For.
I just wish it was easier to find the info, had to go on quite a search to find it. -
