HT1296 audiobooks

I cannot find my audiobooks under books ON THE IPAD.  I can find them in ITunes on the computer.  How do I transfer books from disc to my mini ipad?

If they are in the Books part of your computer's iTunes library (or Audiobooks if using a Mac with Mavericks on it), then connect your iPad to your computer and select it on the left-hand sidebar of your computer's iTunes (you can enable the sidebar via option-command-S on a Mac, control-S on a PC) and then use the Books tab on the right-hand side of the iTunes screen
to select and sync them to the iPad's Music app (when you have audiobooks on your iPad you should get an Audiobooks at the bottom of the Music app, possibly via the More button).

I have purchased some audiobooks on my computer but now cannot find them on my iPad or IPhone. How do I pull them up and listen to them?

Under the Books tab in iTunes, with your phone connected, scroll all the way down, is sync Audiobooks checked?

How can I move audiobook from computer iTunes to iPad 2?  Thank you.

Connect and select your iPad on the left-hand side of your computer's iTunes, and on the right-hand side there should be a series of tabs, one of which should be Books - if you select that tab you can then select which of the audiobooks that you have on your computer's iTunes to sync to the iPad's Music app (when you have audiobooks on the iPad you should get an Audiobooks option under the More button at the bottom of the Music app).

  • HT1296 how to get audiobooks purchases on to my new ipad

how do i add my audiobook purchases to my new ipad ?

If they are in your iTunes library, select them in your sync preferences and sync the iPad with iTunes.
With the iPad connected to your PC, with iTunes running and the iPad selected on the left side under the devices heading - click on the books tab in the iTunes window on the right. Click on the books that you want to transfer to the iPad, make sure that the sync books heading is selected as well and then click on Apply in the lower right corner of the iTunes window. Look for your audiobooks in the Music App. Tap on the More tab at the bottom.
If the audiobooks are not in your iTunes library, you will have to transfer them from the iPod into iTunes before you sync the iPad.
    Transfer purchases.

  • HT201272 There is no mention here of audiobooks bought via iTunes. My previous purchases do not show up when I hit the "purchased" button, only music - help!

I am trying to re-download, via iCloud, a previously purchased audiobook, but all the records of audiobooks i previously purchased seem to have been wiped from my purchase history, and no mention of auto downloads for audiobooks appears anywhere. Can anyone shed light on this anomaly?

Audiobooks are currently a one-time only download, so they won't appear in the cloud for re-downloading. Have you not still got a copy of them that you can sync to your phone e.g. on your computer and/or on a backup ?

  • How can I get my audiobooks in order on my iPod touch?

I have an iPod touch (4th gen) and recently downloaded a series of audiobooks from iTunes (Doug Bradley's Spinechillers). There are thirteen books in the series, and I'm not able to make them display in order on my iPod. I've edited their info in iTunes so that they display in order (see picture); I've edited Artist/Album Artist so that information is all the same. In theory, should they not be displaying this way on my iPod? I've deleted and re-synced them after all the changes, but on my iPod they still appear out of order. Can I change this? In the long run, not a huge deal, but I prefer just selecting the next audiobook instead of scrolling through the whole collection. I'm running version 11.2.2.3 on a Dell (Windows 7).

How are they being displayed on the iPod?
    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

  • Creative Zen Review With the AudioBook Listener In Mi

Here is a copy of my review of the Creative Zen which I just published on the amazon.com mp3 player forum in the thread I started over a year ago entitled "What's the best player for AudioBooks " It is the longest thread in the forum with little indication of slowing down, and it can usually be found as the first thread in the forum.
    http://www.amazon.com/tag/mp3%20play...MxM6KCQW5Q9B6C
I wound up getting the Zen 4GB a few weeks ago but delayed posting until I figured out how I liked it.
    - I like that it has a big screen with big text that I could get by using without my reading glasses (old eyes) in a pinch. That is a very toughtful touch I have't seen on any other players (not that I've seen them all.)
    - The big screen will also show pictures and videos which I don't care much about but is a nice feature if desired.
    - The big screen doesn't come with a cover and it will get scratched up fast. It took me a while to figure this out so my screen got a little scratched up before I realized it.
Consider screen covers mandatory. They are sold seperately in a 3 pack for around $8. This is so important the device ought to have come with at least one screen cover in the box, even if it raised the price $2. My screen cover has been on for a few weeks and shows no sign of wear or coming loose. I did combine it with a rubber device cover I got on amazon for $3 which protects the whole device and covers the edges of the screen and screen protector. The unit is now protected. The cover comes with a little strap and D-Ring clip which is good for hanging onto some piece of clothing.
    - It has a built in battery which is good. It supposedly takes a long time to recharge but that is not an issue for me. I just plug it in to a USB port with the included 4" long cable and it has plenty of time to charge during the day for my use. A fast AC charger is available at extra cost (~$25 I think.)
    - Defect: The unit shuts off after being on pause for a few minutes (good) but it starts up at the beginning of the track when you restart (bad.) If you turn it off, it restarts where you left off as it should. This would not be an issue for music listeners, but it is for audiobook listeners when the track may be an hour to several hours long.
    - Defect: Bookmarks are not at the top of the Menu list and although some menus are customizable, the one with Bookmarks is not.
    - Defect: You can't get to Bookmarks when in the book. You have to back up to Music Menu, click to get to menu, and scroll 2 spots to get to Bookmarks. Not a deal breaker when you get used to it, but clearly not designed properly with the audiobook user in mind.
    - Sound quality: very good. Even with music, very nice.
    - Included headphones: Nice sound. They fall out of my ears and get tangled up a lot but I think thats true of most earbud headphones. I'm going to get the Sony Sport headphones I've had before with a foldable over the head strap.
    - Bookmarks: 0. Plenty for me. (Who listens to more than 0 books at a time )
    - Price: $90 for 4GB. I thought that was quite reasonable.
SUMMARY: With a few menu enhancements and the ability to return to it's place after a pause/shutdown, I'd consider this device close to perfect for the audiobook listener.

Try going into "Control Panel->Administrati've tools" and clicking on "Computer Management". Find "disk management" in the left pane and click it. Your Stone should be in the right somewhere. I think you need to right click, then "choose dri've letter and paths" and give it a dri've letter with the "add" button. Let us know if that works.

  • Audiobook chapters no longer grouped by book on iPod classic

My new iPod classic arrived today. When I synced it to iTunes 7.4.2 I found that the contents of the Audiobooks category were no longer grouped by title. Instead, all of the files were simply alphabetically sorted. So all of the "Chapter 1"s from all of the books appear together in the list. And they play back that way, too—going from Book A's Chapter 1 to Book B's. This basically makes it impossible to listen to an audiobook.
Also, "Audiobooks" no longer appears in the list of Genres, though it did on my old iPod.
All of my audiobooks are .m4b files and show up in the Audiobooks category (not in the Audiobooks genre under Music) in iTunes.
Has anyone else seen this? Any idea what's going on?

See the first section of Corrupt iPod classic. If the media files aren't visible in the hidden folders then it may still be possible to use an unerase/undelete or other file recovery tool.

  • ITunes 11 has moved most of my audiobooks to music, and greyed out the "audiobook" option in the info pane.  WHY?!?!?

Now I have a music library filled with audiobook content and music content all mixed up, playing EVERYTHING when I'm on shuffle because iTuness 11 has now also reset the previously-audiobook-now-music content not to be skipped in shuffle, and I can't fix it because the option is greyed out.  Can anybody help me?

Just an update, following last nights USB sync all music shows as In the library on my iPhone, however only the same 500 or so songs are playable, the rest go from appearing to be in the library to going into the cloud and starting to download when manually selected. If on shuffle the music skips over them. The iPhone  memory usage shows only about 10gb used most of which is for the iOS/apps, so once again my music library is not on my iPhone. Apple have managed to take a great product and turn it into a steaming pile of turd.

  • I deleted an audiobook from Itunes on my computer and emptied my trash, plugged in Iphone 5s to sync Itunes. Audio book still appears on my Iphone. How do I get rid of audio book on Iphone?

I deleted an audiobook from Itunes on my computer, emptied my trash, they attached Iphone 5s to computer to sync computer to Iphone thinking that by deleting the audiobook from Itunes, the audiobook would then be deleted from my Iphone.  It's still on my Iphone.  How do I get rid of the audiobook on my phone?

You transfer the purchases to the computer you use to sync the iPhone.  You can use a thumb drive or an external HD, etc.  Read this: iTunes for Mac - How to copy purchases between computers:  http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1373

  • Syncing iphone and can't seem to transfer audiobooks that i have put in a playlist.  Sync menu doesn't show all playlists.  Help

syncing iphone and can't seem to transfer audiobooks that i have put in a playlist.  Sync menu doesn't show all playlists.  Help

I have the same problem with podcast playlists.  When I go to the music window in my iPhone devices section, the playlists I have created on my macbook pro in iTunes do not appear as an option to sync with the iPhone.  I know some web radios streams, like the BBC, won't transfer because of compatibility issues, but the playlists of podcasts that I have created consist entirely of podcasts downloaded from the podcasts section on the iTunes Music Store.  They used to show up and sync properly before I upgraded to OS 5.1.1, but now they don't.
Does anyone have a fix and am I right in surmising that the cause is a glitch in OS 5.1.1?

  • How can I transfer voice memos from my iPhone 4 without syncing and having all music/video/audiobook content deleted from my phone?

I would like to be able to transfer several very long voice memos from my iPhone 4 to my PC.  They are too long to email to myself. I manage music manually, so the phone doesn't sync automatically.  I have also not checked off "include voice memos" in my music sync preferences because of a warning that pops up which suggests that I will lose all the music, video & audiobook content on my phone and that it will be replaced with all iTunes content. (Several of the audiobooks on my phone were transferred in directly from my library system's audiobook service & I will lose them permanently if they are wiped off the phone.) Is there a way around this? I am able to transfer photographs directly to my computer because my PC recognizes the iPhone as an external disk and I was able to locate the photo folder, but I have no idea of where to look for the voice memo folder in order to transfer them in the same manner.  Any suggestions would be appreciated!

  • Audiobooks not playing on iPod Classic

I downloaded an audiobook from iTunes. It will play on computer thru iTunes Library and will also play on computer when I click on iPod Audiobooks but will not play on my iPod. The info shows on video screen, but no playback.

It's a long time since I've experienced 1 of 0 on my iPod Classic and I can no longer remember what causes that.
However, 1 of 1 usually means that you are playing the iPod in shuffle mode and that all the songs in the Playlist are set to Skip when shuffling. In this situation, as a song is playing, every other song is set to be skipped, therefore there is nothing else to play - so 1 of 1. So if you are using shuffle mode, check the songs (in your iTunes Library) for Skip when shuffling. To do this, highlight a song and select File/Get Info/Options>Skip when shuffling> - no tick in the box.
If you need to change those settings, you need to Sync the Pod to iTunes afterwards for the changes to be on the iPod as well.
