HT1296 Does anyone know how to transfer songs from your ipod touch to a new computer?
I've already transferred the purchased songs to the new itunes library. I'm just having trouble getting the rest of the songs, that are from my old itunes library, onto my new computer. I don't know if this matters or not, but I have a 2nd generation ipod, and I'm using a PC.

From your OLD computer...
Copy your ENTIRE iTunes FOLDER to an External Drive... and then from the External Drive to your New Computer..

Does anyone know how to transfer songs from my IPOD to my Computer?
As title, does anyone know if I can transfer all my songs from my Ipod, to my computer. Because the thing is I'm getting an iTouch but I don't have all my songs on my PC, it's all on my ipod.
So i want to move all my songs from my ipod to my PC, is it even possible? There are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod. You'll find that they have varying degrees of functionality and some will transfer movies, videos, photos, podcasts and games as well. Have a look at the web pages and documentation, this is just a small selection of what's available, they are generally quite straightforward. You can read reviews and comparisons of some of them here:

If you have any iTunes Music Store purchases the transfer of purchased content only from the iPod to authorised computers was introduced with iTunes 7. You'll find details in this article: Copying iTunes Store purchases from your iPod or iPhone to a computer
There's also a manual method of copying songs from your iPod to a Mac or PC. The procedure is a bit involved and won't recover playlists but if you're interested it's available on page 2 at this link: Copying Content from your iPod to your Computer - The Definitive Guide
I would also advise that you get yourself an external hard drive and back your stuff up, relying on an iPod as your sole backup is not a good idea and external drives are comparatively inexpensive these days, you can get loads of storage for a reasonable outlay: Back up your iTunes library by copying to an external hard drive -
How to transfer Files from an iPod touch to a new computer?
Hello all, recently i ran into some computer problems and my computer needed to be replaced.
I did not keep my old computer. I want to transfer files such as notes, contacts, apps ect. to the new computer. I do not care about transfering music or photos because i have copies of them saved on the new computer already. so is it possible to transfer those things? I have an iPod touch 4th Generation, if that helps.See:

How do you transfer music from your Ipod touch to the new Itunes?
The music sync is one way - computer to ipod. the only exception is ituens purchases.
You need to copy everything from your old computer, or your backup copy of your old computer, to your new one. -
I got a new computer and backed up my iTunes library to an external hard drive. The external hard drive is not allowing me to access the drive. I no longer have access to the old computer. Is there a way to transfer the songs from my iPod touch to my new computer?
That's a bummer, didn't realize the exHD files were corrupt, esp if you have tried from another PC and not just this new computer.
You can get purchases from the itunes store transferred from an iPod using these directions:

If you want everything (meaning non-itunes songs, app data, photos, etc) you need to buy a 3rd-party ipod manager that support iTouch. Here is an iLounge article to start your research:

Yes. Are you familiar with Dropbox? Dropbox is an excessively easy way for you to transfer files between devices (PC/Mac/Galaxy Tab/iPhone/iPad/etc.). You can upload your files to Dropbox on one device and receive it on the other.

I am trying to transfer 3000 songs from my iPod Classic to my new computer. The only songs that transfer are those that I have purchased on iTunes (242 songs). All of the music from my CD collection that I have on my iPod Classic will not transfer. What (if any) is the best 3rd party website that will assist?
See this older post from another forum member Zevoneer covering the different methods and software available to assist you with the task of copying content from your iPod back to your PC and into iTunes.
