How do I back up the calendar and contacts from my iPhone5 to my new macbook pro(10.8.3)? I have backed up the phone, but it does not transfer the calendar or the contacts. If I check them in the sync area and then back up the phone again will they transfer or be erased? I am a bit gun shy since my previous macbook pro committed suicide and I lost a ton of info there.
Copy everything from your backup copy of your old computer.

Not possible, the current version of iTunes only allows syncing via iCloud which the 3G does not support.

I bought a new MacBook Pro 4 months ago, had some issues with it, brought it to Best Buy Geek Squad and they . Now I would like to sync my iphone 4 with my computer. However, when I go to do that a message appears that says the computers current information will transfer to the iphone. Well there isn't anything on my computer and so I am afraid if I follow through with it my iphone will lose everything. I am mainly concerned about my address book, itunes and pictures. Is there any way for me to transfer from the iphone to the MacBook Pro?

While all of us here have MacBook Pros, not everyone (including myself!) have an iPhone.
Then again, some MBP/iPhone user may come along with an answer to your question... but I'd post it in the iPhone forum were I you.

II am new to Mac and was trying to transfer data from my PC to my new Macbook Pro. The connection was lost however and now my Pro is stuck on the 'Transferring you nformation' screen. How do I get out of this screen so I can attempt the connection again? Is it safe to force shut down of my Mac and will it still prompt me through all the setup process again?

If your Mac and PC are connected by Ethernet, unplug and plug that cable again. If not, you have to turn off the MacBook by holding the Power button.
In the next startup, try to transfer your files again. It's important not to interrupt the transfer process, because in most cases, you will stop it and you won't be able to resume it -

Tina Hadley did you migrate/transfer your applications over to your new Macintosh? If so this could cause problems with your serial number being recognized. Please run the available uninstallers located in Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers folder. Once this is done you will also want to run the CC Cleaner Tool. I have a iPod touch 4th gen. And I cannot get into the Internet I get a message that say cannot connect to server. The other computer and my iPad still work with the Internet . I have reeked to reset it but that does not work. Please help me.
I do not know wat "reeked to reset" means.
Try the following:
- Reset the iPod. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
- Power off and then on your router.
- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings

When I try to access my online bank account thru Firefox, the session times out. This is on a new Macbook Pro. On my old Macbook Pro I can access the site. I know it is probably something in settings but cannot figure it out.

I have downloaded and installed Photoshop Elements 11 on my new Macbook Pro. Why can't I see my scanner (Epson Perfection 3200 Photo) from the File>Import menu?
There was no driver update available (it said my driver was up to date), so I just deleted the scanner and restarted the computer. when it came up, the scanner had already been added again. With great anticipation I tried to import from Photoshop...but no luck (scanner was not visible). I finally ended up calling Epson (had great difficulty in locating a number for support) and they finally told me there is no driver update for OS X 10.10 and I should as a work around use "Image Capture" application. I tried it, and it works quite well.

I transferred my files from a G4 to a new macbook pro, but I can't access my old songs in itunes. I clicked on library in itunes and get the mac page to access mp3 and acc files but it doesn't work. Any suggestions?
They maybe corrupt, try transferring again from the g4. If iTunes is giving you an error then you need to authorize your computer with the same iTunes account as previously. Also, you could try exporting your iTunes library via iTunes on the g4.

If you have access to another Mac running Lion or Mountain Lion with an optical drive, you should be able to use the Remote Disc feature to access the optical drive on that other Mac. -

You need to make the new Mac iTunes library your syncing library. iTunes on the Mac sees your iPad as a new device because you have never synced with this computer before. The iphone is not a storage/backup device. The syncis one way - computer to iphone. The only exception is itunes purchases: File>Devices>Transfer Purchases
You should copy everything from your old computer or your backup copy of your old computer to your new one.
