HT1296 Is there a way to import photos from an iPad to a computer, that were originally synced with iTunes?

I recently had to reformat my computer, and unbeknowst to me, i only made a short cut to my directory, not a full copy.
Now my only copies of rather important images are on my ipad, however I am unable to download them as they were synced using iTunes originally. I've tried everything i could think of, including viewing hidden folders.
I really need these photos, I even tried sending them to myself via photostream, but I can only view. not save.
Please, if anyone has any advice I'd be forever greatful.

There are third-party apps such as Simple Transfer which can copy them back via your wifi network. But as photos are 'optimised' when they are synced to the iPad, any that you then copy back to a computer may not be exactly the same as they originally were on your computer e.g. their resolution may have changed, colourse may look different etc

  • Is there any way to import photos from my iPad to my computer without using iPhoto?

I have a lot of photos on my iPad which I'd like to import onto my Mac Pro.  Because I'm not a fan of iPhoto is there any other way to do this and import my photos to a specific folder?
Thanks for any advice.  I appreciate it!

Sure.  Use image capture or aperture or whatever photo management software you like.

  • Is there a way to import photos from Canon Powershot S45 after downloading Yosemite?

Is there a way to import photos from a Canon Powershot S45 after downloading Yosemite?

I was reading another post yesterday about a Canon PowerShot S40 owner who previously used Image Capture to bring the images into the computer. They reached out to Canon and were returned a response stating that the drivers weren't compatible for OS X Yosemite. The best bet would be a card reader. The JPEG files are still going to be the same, but connecting with a USB cable directly to the camera isn't feasible any more. Head to the nearest Best Buy and pick up a USB card reader and you'll be able to see your pictures in Finder and can then import them to iPhoto or wherever you keep your pictures.

  • Is there a way to import photos to the iPad without the photo also appearing in the Camera Roll?  I have a Photo Transer app that lets me wirelessly import photos to an album but they also appear in the CR and when you delete from the CR the photo is dele

Is there a way to import photos to the iPad and put in an album without having the photo also in the Camera Roll?  I have a photo transfer app but when I import the album and photos they are also shown in the CR.  When you delete them from CR they are deleted from the album too.

You can sync photos from your computer via iTunes, and each folder that you sync will get its own album : syncing photos. You will need to sync all the photos that you want on the iPad together in one go - synced photos can't be deleted directly on the iPad, instead they are deleted by not including them in the next sync.
In terms of albums that you create directly on the iPad no, effectively you are just creating pointers to the photos in those new albums, so if you delete the original photo you will therefore also be deleting all pointers to it.
You could consider a third-party photo management app instead e.g. Photo Manager Pro

  • Is there a way to import music from my ipod to the computer?

is there a way to import music from my ipod to the camputer?
I have music from all over the world and i want to import all of it to my computer..

Sorry for insulting Apple. This whole thing has me frustrated. You would think that this is an easy thing...which it is after downloading the third party software and all.
I am just a bit edgy after talking to 3 customer support folks for almost 2 hours, who I could barely understand and then having them just tell me to download the files again. 3500+ songs...jumping out the window was looking more pleasant (jk). Now I have to explain to the wife why the phone is busted in-two...lol.
Anyway, I was able to get hooked up with some software and it seems to be downloading fine. I am using iPodCopy. Thanks for the nudge in the right direction and putting up with a bit of attitude. I am sure they have their reasons for not making this an easier operation.

  • New Computer, is there any way to import songs from an ipod to a computer?

My computer doesn't have the songs from my old computer so I was wondering if there was a way to import songs from an iPod to a computer, because if I update my iPod now, all of my songs will be lost.

For iTunes version 7 or later, then you can transfer purchased iTunes store music from the iPod to an authorized computer by using the "file/transfer purchases from iPod" menu. Note that the maximum of 5 authorized computers applies here.
For all other non purchased music (your own CDs etc) try this method which works on some Windows PCs.
Enable your iPod for disk use.
    See: iPod Disk Use.
Open iTunes and select edit/preferences/advanced/general. Put a check mark in the box marked "copy files to iTunes music folder when adding to library" and also "keep iTunes music folder organized", then click 'ok'.
Connect the iPod whilst holding down the shift/ctrl keys to prevent any auto sync, and if you see the dialogue window asking if you want to sync to this itunes library, click 'no'.
Then go to file/add folder, open 'my computer', select your iPod and click 'ok'.
The music files should transfer to your iTunes.
If this doesn't work (and it may not because officially it's not supposed to), check out the instructions/suggestions here.
Music from iPod to computer (using option 2). This a manual method using "hidden folders" and although it works, it can be messy.
Much easier ways are to use one of the many 3rd party programs that copy music from the iPod to the computer.
One of the most recommended is Yamipod. This is a free program that transfers music from iPod back to the computer. However, it does not transfer playcounts/ratings etc.
Another free program is Pod Player.
    SharePod is also freeware.

  • I need help!  I installed icloud on my computer, uploaded photos, my computer crashed and now my ipad runs slow b/c there are too many photos.  Is there a way to delete photos from my ipad (right now, I can click on the photos but not delete)?

What options do I have?  Will purchasing more storage help?  Can I change control from my PC to my ipad if I can't use my computer anymore?

You can import your photos and videos in the Camera Roll on your iPad to your work computer using you usb cable, then delete them from your iPad by following the directions here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083.  If you also have photo stream photos that are not in your camera roll that you want to save, save them to your camera roll so they can be imported too.  To do this, open your My Photo Stream album, tap Edit, tap the photos, tap Share, tap Save to Camera Roll.  After importing them you can delete them from your iPad if you want by tapping Edit again, tapping the photos, then tapping Delete.
Once they are on your work computer, you can transfer them to a USB memory stick if you cannot leave them there.
Any photos on your iPad that were synced from your computer can be salvaged by using an app like PhotoSync to transfer them to your work computer over wifi.  (They can't be saved to the camera roll and imported with your usb cable like photos in the camera roll.)  Deleting these photos from your iPad will require using iTunes.  Once you have your own computer again and can install iTunes, you can delete these remaining photos by creating an empty folder on your computer, then selecting this folder to sync to your iPad on the Photos tab of your iTunes sync settings and syncing.

If there are any apps, they may not work on your iOS 3.1.3, which you should update to iOS 5.1

  • Is there a way to transfer photos from a ipad to storage without a computer

I will be travelling oversea's and will use my ipad mini (with 30gb free space) to store photos from the SD memory cards from my camera. The ipad will be used to edit the photo's whilst travelling.  As I will be shooting in RAW the photos will take up a considerable amount of memory (800 photos per 64gb)  Is there a way to transfer the photos to the ipad to edit and then save all the photo's to an external portable hard drive or cloud to free up the space on the ipad mini for more photos to be transferred for editing.

  • HT4890 how do I import photos from my ipad to my computer?

I cannot find a way to import the photos that I have in the ipad to my mac even though I have checked the option of sync photos. any ideas?

    Welcome to the Apple community.
When you connect your iPad to your computer using a USB cable, the iPad will show up as a device on the left-hand side of iPhoto. When you select the iPad in iPhoto you can then see the photos on it and import any or all of them as you wish.
Also note, that via the iPhoto preferences you can set your iPhoto application to automatically open when any camera is connected to the computer. These settings are found in iPhoto preferences > general.

Not directly, no, not that I've seen. You need to get the photos from your Blackberry into your computer. From there you can sync them to your iPad.
