HT1296 itunes won't sync my audio files after I upgraded my iphone to i0S 6

I upgraded my phone to iOS 6 for the new features and could no longer play (or find) my audio books.  The disk space usage indicated that the files were still there but the music player would not show or play them.  I try to sync to iTunes Library and it fails.  I upgraded my Mac OS and my iTunes versions to the current version and still no luck.  Incidentally I also notice that when I try to make a purchase of new audio files through iTunes directly from my iphone it also seems to hang up.  Occassionally after a couple reboots it may download but still shows my audio library as being empty.
Not sure where to go from here...any suggestions?

OK, this is weird/interesting . . . just now, syncing my iPad, I noticed that under the Music tab there were no syncing options available, just a message that said "iTunes Matching is on." I'd turned it on yesterday, in the Settings, just messing around trying to troubleshoot the audio file sync issue.
iTunes Matching didn't solve the problem, so I turned it off. Then resynced the iPad again from scratch. THIS TIME everything synced! Every single audio file, every playlist, everything.
So that's odd, right?? I mean, I'm happy that it's working, but I'm not sure why it didn't work to begin with, nor why it's suddenly working now. So it's good, but a little unnerving . . .

  • My iPad won't sync with my Mac after I upgraded to Lion OS

After I upgraded my MacBook Pro to Lion OS, my iPad 2 is not anymore detected for syncing.  Although I can still charge my iPad when I connect to it.  How can I fix this problem?

    Try the following:
    1. Double Tap Home Button
    2. Close all the Running Apps by swiping up on their screen images
    3. Press the Home Button Again
    Next reset the iPad
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10 seconds).
    Now try to sync.

  • ITunes wants to sync 2 audio files to my iPhone

Hello, recently i've downloaded 2 songs from iTunes store using my iPhone. These songs have been downloaded on my mac as well. After a couple of days i've deleted them from my iPhone using iTunes via wi-fi because i didn't want them to be on my phone. Now, every time i connect to wi-fi in my home network they are put in queue for sync by iTunes even though they won't be synced if i press SYNC. Is that normal?

Restore the data you backed up from your old computer to the new one. It will still need to erase your phone to set up a new sync relationship, but since you will already have restored all your iTunes media, contacts, etc. you can just sync it all back to the phone.
If you did NOT back up your old computer, you can transfer purchased items from your phone to iTunes. You can transfer contacts to a supported address book on the new machine by making sure you have at least one entry in the address book on the computer BEFORE you attempt to set up the sync relationship. You can transfer photos in the camera roll the same as you would from any other digital camera.  If you have anything else on the phone (photos, music ripped from CDs, etc.) you're going to have to resort to 3rd party software to try and extract them from the phone. This software is not sanctioned by Apple and is generally NOT free.
The iPhone is NOT a backup device.

  • ITunes won't sync the AVI files in iPhoto Library to iPod, only photos!

The AVI files in my iPhoto Library are part of the dreaded Left Behind series ... iPod style. Surely there's a way around this. Anyone?

When I send my iPhoto Library to my iPod using the iPod Sync in iTunes, I'm only trying to BACK THEM UP
Do you have "Copy full resolution photos to iPod" ticked on the Photo tab?
If not, you are simply putting a thumbnail to the iPod, not the full resolution photo, so nothing is getting "backed up".
You could simply copy the iPhoto folder to the iPod?
I would not recommend use the iPod as a backup for anything.
Get an external drive. 259GB drives are less than $100 and you can use it to make a complete bootable backup.

  • My old computer crashed and I imported my music to my new computer. Now iTunes won't sync the music in my library to my iPhone. How can I fix this?

I hadn't synced my iPhone yet to my new computer after buying some more music. When I went to sync, with that computer, it asked me to delete all the old music that had been from the old computer. I had been through this before with no problems so I had my phone's music wiped and was ready to resync my entire library. Everytime I try, though, it only completes the back up step, and the determing which songs to sync step, but it won't actually sync the music and just says it's done.

Your iPad is married to its now deceased old computer. This is the reason for the necessity of a backup for your computer, which your iPad is not.
Your iTunes Store and App Store purchases will not be lost. Just don't "erase and sync" when you sync your iPad to your new Mac:
If you want to move the iTunes Store purchases on your device to the new computer, choose "Transfer Purchases." The new computer must be set up with your iTunes Store account and authorized to play your iTunes Store purchases in order to transfer your iTunes Store purchases.

  • ITunes won't sync with iPod Touch after factory reset

I recently bought a used iPod Touch 3rd Generation 32GB and I erased and reset all settings on the iPod. It told me on the iPod to hook it up to iTunes, so when I got home that's what I did but I can't use my iPod on iTunes. The only thing that pops up is upload images which it can't because it is a 3rd Generation iTouch.
    HELP PLEASE

    Start with some basic steps:
    - Restart both your computer and iPod
    - Try another usb cable
    - Try another usb port in the computer
    - Make sure iTunes is up to date
    - Temporarily disable any security software and/or firewalls

  • ITunes 8 won't sync some video files to iPhone 3G (2.1)

    Hello,
Upgraded to iTunes 8 and iPhone 2.1 the other day. Now I'm having trouble syncing the iPhone... The problem is that iTunes won't sync all my purchased TV-eps. It WILL sync my "The Office" ep, but NOT my "Two and a half men" ep or my "Entourage" ep. What is going on?! Anyone know a solution to this?
    Thanx

Select the videos that won't sync and use the iTunes Advanced menu > Create iPod or iPhone Version. iTunes will create a version for your iPhone while leaving the original in place, which you may retain or delete at your option.
    Jim-
Okay, next time I promise to at least challenge you a little bit LOL!
Yes, that fixed it instantly. Many thanks!

  • Work flow for syncing separate Audio files with Video files in FCP

It may be too late for me to use this workflow that I want with my current project, but I need to figure out what it is anyway for future reference.
Right now I'm editing a movie which is near completion. When we recorded the movie, the camera's deck recorded reference audio from the sound guy at 48k @ 16bit. This audio also went through an additional set of preamps which added a small amount of noise. So we don't want to use the reference audio because of it's low resolution and less clean audio. The sound guy recorded straight to his deck at 48k @ 24bit, besides the better resolution, his audio is noticeably better.
The camera deck and 'clapper' (I think that's what you call it) were not connected or synced. So the video files and the soundsguy's audio files are slightly different lengths, but at least have a 'clap sound' to manually sync to. And I don't mean that the audio and video files won't play in sync with each other, I mean that the soundguy always started recording before the camera, so his audio files have slightly different start and stop times.
Could I have synced the audio files with the video files before I started editing this project? If so, could it have been in the way that the soundguy's audio would be connected to my video files while editing? What would that procedure have been?
My current workflow right now is I have my finished sequence, I change the bit rate to 24 in Sequence Settings, and start manually dragging the soundguy's files to the sequence for every little edited clip. This is going to take forever, there are 99 scenes in this movie. Anyway, at the end of the day these sequences are exported as .omf files and imported into Pro Tools for audio post production.
I was not thinking to figure this out before I started editing the movie, this is unfortunate, a newb move in a decent production.
Anyway, I don't know if there is a standard for this situation or if I just opened up a can of worms for many possible workflows. Please comment if you have experience in this area or please refer me to any reading material.
    Thanks for your time!
    -Monty

The normal workflow (besides manually syncing up before editing!)
is to have ' some ' way of auto syncing the clips.
So you must have common timecode.
With external audio, you can slave the cam's TC to the TC output of the BWF recorder.
Then you can use BWF / QT merge (one of my apps) to sync them, or use Sync 'n Link.
    (another third party application)
If it is not possible cause you're shooting with a cam without a TC input, you can record the TC output on one of the audio tracks of your cam, and use FCPauxTC reader to decode the beeps and translate that to QT TC, and again use the former tricks to sync them.
It is difficult when you have never done it, but very easy once you get the hang of it, and it saves a huge amount of time to do it right from the start.
Have a look at the FCP aux TC reader here:

In iTunes, try signing out of your Apple ID & then back in: click on iTunes Store on the left sidebar of iTunes, click on your Apple ID on the top right, sign out, sign back in.  Then try to sync your purchased music to your phone again.

  • My iTunes won't sync and I can't download an app onto my iPhone 4S. It's been really bad since the update!

    Hi,
    Two problems here guys
    1. My iTunes won't sync. Since the update to iTunes 11 it refuses to transfer purchaces from my iPhone 4S and won't put stuff from my phone into my iTunes library and I can't put anything on my phone through my laptop. Both the laptop and the phone say that they are syncing but nothing actually happens
    2. As the Avengers Initiative app is currently free I decided to try and download it straight on to my phone, but every time I try it says I don't have enough memory, even though I deleted stuff especially so I could download this and I now have 3.6 GB free, so I downloaded it on to my iTunes on my computer, but of course my iTunes won't sync
I've reinstalled iTunes twice and it hasn't worked!
    Somebody help please

Same problem, any assistance would be appreciated.
    thanks

thought that it was possible to have the same iTunes library on any machine that was authorised, a kind of cloud-iTunes I guess.
That would convenient, but sadly it is not the case. Sorry!
Either way your welcome and best of luck!

I have been stuck for so long, I have tried looking at support sites etc... but nothing is working. I tried downloading songs from itunes, and from the internet and nothing will sync. Advice would be greatly appreciated!! i am so frustrated, i have tried syncing over wifi and thru the cord but it doesn't make a difference. it's like this happened out of nowhere. thanks in advance!

''I was experiencing the same problem and tried all sorts of stuff, including items in this thread with no luck, this is what ultimately worked for me.
    1.  Download iFunBox (or other utility that gives you access to the filesystem)
    2.  Delete the _iTunes_Control folder
    3.  Delete everything in the Purchases folder
    4.  Force a sync in itunes
    5.  Profit.
So far I haven't seen any weird problems, other than my songs now sync.''
