I have a Lacie disk 250 GB, it works well but i don´t know why it creates different volumes, like "Lacie Disk 1", "Lacie Disk 2", etc. Like that untill 5! Sorry, i didn´t explained it very well, but the problem is that I don´t understand this problem too. So, to answer you. 1) I did not partitioned my disk ; 2) When I connect it, i have just "Lacie Disk" on my finder ; 3) When I mention "volumes" the thing is that when I want to choose a directory for my downloads or Itunes, it appears on Powerbook G4/Volumes/LacieDisk. But then, I try to find it on the Finder but I can´t see that folder "volumes".
I opened Disk utility, and just to show how it appears
"Mount Point : /Volumes/LaCie Disk 5". My problem is that i don´t know why, it changed from LaCieDisk 4 to 5, and that i have information on that one which I can´t see but know it is there.

Despite Mac's strength against malicious software, there are some things that are not affected by hardware, such as keyloggers and the like.
What type of software is there that can protect against this or detect it for Macs?

The Mac's strength against malicious software has nothing to do with Apple's hardware, but rather OS X. Keep in mind that Apple's current hardware is now exactly the same as any other manufacturer's.
There are keyloggers that will run in OS X, but the only way to have them running on your machine is to install them yourself. In order to install any of these applcations and have them run in a manner that would put other accounts on your machine at risk, one would have to install them as an admin user, and this would necessitate authenticating as such.
In other words, you are your own best protection against malicious software. Just don't install it.
There are many people researching potential vulnerabilities in OS X which would allow a non-admin user to install and run malicious software, either locally or over a network (or the internet). As soon as potential vulnerabilities are found, they are reported, and Apple soon after releases an update to "plug the hole." Note that there are no known cases of these vulnerabilities ever being exploited.

When requested I tried to down load the latest update for itunes and now I cant open itunes as it says Ive lost the MSVCR80.dll file and I don't know how to repair it.

I accepted a recent update for iTunes and now my version of Spin Doctor can't communicate with iTunes, specifically, I can't get music files to go over to iTunes. Spin Doctor gives me a message indicating that iTunes isn't working properly.
I am using iTunes 9.1.1(12) and Spin Doctor 3.1.1.304t. I have investigated upgrading the Spin Doctor but I think too much time has passed and the version available are too far advanced.
Any ideas? Can I undo the iTunes upgrade? Is there a website that I can go to to get the upgrade for my Spin Doctor?

Had this problem for quite a while but found a work-a-round. I click anywhere in the text I want to delete and insert any character. I am then able to block and delete any text I want to. It's been working great.

I have windows 7 and I have been trying to install the newest update for itunes and quicktime but I keep receiving the same Bonjour error. I even tried to do it manually and no luck. I also tried to unistall bonjour but it would not even allow me to unistall it either. No matter what I do I get the same error listed below:

Unfortunately, this sort of trouble has gotten more complicated to deal with ever since Microsoft pulled the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from their Download Center on 25 June 2010. First we have to find a copy of the utility.
Let's try Googling. (Best not to use Bing, I think.) Look for a working download site for at least version 3.0 of the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (The results from mydigitallife and Major Geeks are worth checking.)
After downloading the utility installer file (msicuu2.exe), scan the file for malware, just in case. (I use the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware to do single-file scans for that.)
If the file is clean, to install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you've downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any Bonjour entries and click "Remove".
Quit out of CleanUp. Restart the PC, and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time? -
i just downloaded the new update for itunes and the itunes store wont open up it is taking a long time it still hasnt loaded since 5pm, i also cant sighn in either it just keeps on saying accessing itunes....

Go to command Prompt -
(Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
(Win XP SP2 & above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
netsh winsock reset
Hit "ENTER" key
Restart your computer.
If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
Now launch your iTunes and see if it is working now.
If you are still having these type of problems after trying the winsock reset, refer to this article to identify which software in your system is inserting LSP:

Hi, I installed iOS6 beta without registering it to the developer program. Now on iTunes and on my phone I get the same "We're unable to complete your activation" error. What do I do?
You have to restore your phone. To do this turn off your phone and disconnect it from your pc or mac. You then have to plug in the usb part of your sychronize cable into your pc or mac. Open itunes. Now press and hold on the home button on your iphone and plug the cable into it while still holding down the home button. Your iphone will now be in recovery mode and on itunes you will see the option that says restore. Click on that and your phone will be restored to factory settings. If you backed up your itunes all your apps will be downloaded back on to your phone. Including all your contacts and text messages. It took me a couple of tries to restore my phone when this happened so if it doesnt work the first time do it again. Took me two tries. I could not install the upgrade for iTunes and Error Message said " Can't start because MSVCR80.dll is missing". Reinstalling has NOT helped. . Is the fault with the Apple iTunes upgrade?
Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
Bonjour
Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.
