HT1296 SMS messages are stored where?

Just synced my iphone 4S to ITunes for the first time. Wondering if all of my SMS have also backed up and if so, where/how are they stored. Any assistance appreciated.

They are included in the backup.
You cannot access them from there. The backup is only for use in restoring your iphone

Changing where the sent messages are stored

Hi, I was wondering is there any way you can change where the sent messages are stored. I have switched from a few programs.. and there is a 'sent' folder and ' sent messages' folder on my folder list in addition to that of what mail is putting them in. I just want one folder.

Sounds like you are accessing an IMAP type account.
If so, is this the only email account and account type you are accessing with the Mail.app?

I just encountered this problem for the first time and stumbled upon this forum to find a solution. I played around with it a bit and it seems that if you slide your finger from the bottom up, you will come upon that new screen that will allow you to do various functions with your phone (put it in airport mode, lock, etc.), you can select your Airport from this screen and play your music wirelessly from your phone; at least this was my experience. Table where XML Messages are stored..?

Dear SDNers,
I am trying to built an custom error monitor. I require access to the XML payload and parse it to retrieve data from it.
I need to know where the input XML messages and the XML with Error informations are stored in the database table.
I believe this informations would be stored in a raw format and an class/method will parse this raw data to XML content.
I require your help to find out the DB Table and the methods to parse the raw data to XML.

With the below code I was able to read the Maindocument of Inbound payload. I would also require to read the Error payload in the Soap header.

Now i need to find a method to read the erro document.
Instead of CALL METHOD xmb_msg->if_xms_message_xmb~get_main_payloads I need to use a different method, but not to find it myself.

How Text Messages Are Stored on Palm Centro and possible recovery

I come from an extensive IT and programming background with emphasise on databases. I need some high level understanding of the text messaging system on a Plam Centro system with ATT.
Questions are related to Recoverying Deleted Text Messages
1. Do all incoming and outgoing messages get written to the messages_database.pdf on a Plam Centro (ATT)?
2. When a message is deleted, would it be correct to say that the message is not physically deleted but just that a record pointer in the database (messages_database.pdb) is reset so the messages appears to be deleted?
Why I ask, is that I see a many many requests for people (myself included) of wanting to recover deleted text messages. (i.e. my 16 daughter will not email now becuase we check email but she does text unknown people constantly and it makes it very hard to keep her safe). When she syncs her phone with her computer, the messages_database.pdb file is in the backup directory and if you open it with a text editor (notepad.exe) you can see only messages that have not beeen deleted. She usually deletes all her text messages. There is A LOT of extra data that appears to be encrypted and is not readable.
Is it possible that the text messages are there but just that the database record pointers hve been reset OR are Plam text messages written to RAM some how; although that does seem to be the case, since when you sync, the messages_database.pdb files has any and all messages that have not deleted.
It woul be VERY valuable (and I think profitable) if someone very high level knowledge of the messages_database.pdb file could write a PC application that would alloow you to undelete the text messages. I know there are programs out there that can do this on SIM cards on systems that write the text messages to the sSIM card, but it is my understanding that messages are not stored on the SIM card but in RAM.
Can any high level technical Palm programmer shed some light on this for me and let me know if there is a way to recovery deleted Text Messages on a Palm Centro?

I had the same problem.
1.Search for a program call filez.prc (give your address I can send you) copy it to a memorycard. btw [email protected]
2. Copy it to the palm device(it works on any) activate the program on the palm chk rom at the top and chk all message database and smstxt and also some have 0000behind em. note the sizes as the older ones are larger and copy them to the card.
3. to view em use microsoft word and use recover txt from any file I think it is called. You will be able to see detail but be careful as it sometime displays truncated or mixed but you will be able to see most txt clearly.

PC Suite 6.82.21.0 - SMS Messages are empty

after updating to PC Suite 6.82.21.0 I am experiencing empty SMS messages. When my phone ( Nokia 6230i ) receives an SMS , PC Suite recognize the new SMS but doesn't transfer/show it's content. Does anybody know how to fix this ?

Those "My xxx" folder are some old folders which are not needed/used with 6.82.
First, I have to know this -> did you change your explorer settings (show hidden and system folders)???
1. Go to http://www.sysinternals.com/Utilities/Filemon.html and download Filemon (it is end of the page).
2. Go to http://www.sysinternals.com/Utilities/Regmon.html and download Regmon (it is end of the page).
3. Disconnect you phone from PC Suite.
4. Open Nokia Phone Browser and close all other applications.
5. Start FileMon.exe and click 'Options', 'Filter/Highlight..' and set string: *explorer.exe*;*SeUp*;TextMes* to 'Include' option.
6. Start Regmon.exe and click 'Options', 'Filter/Highlight..' and set string: *explorer.exe*;*SeUp*;TextMes* to 'Include' option.
7. Press 'Ctrl+X' to both tools (for remove traces).
8. Connect your phone and open phone's "Messages" folder in Nokia Phone browser.
9. Start that Nokia Message Editor and click that "To" and then "Refresh"
10. wait e.g. 3 minutes and save logs and zip those...Then save zip file to http://www.savefile.com/ and send link to me

SMS messages are received on MacBook Pro, but not phone, help.

I currently have an issue where I will receive SMS messages to my MacBook Pro, but they will never reach my phone. I am able to send SMS messages from both my phone and MacBook Pro and those will sync, but I don't receive any on my phone. Help Please.

Another family members iphone receives any sms messages sent to my iphone, different numbers. Why is this occuring and how do I remedy the situation

Is you other family member using your Apple ID? In Settings > Messages > Recieved At > Uncheck the other family members phone number. I suggest you do this on their device as well.

SMS messages are not saved on iphone on ios 7.0.4

After updating iPhone 4S to ios 7.0.4 it was a week before I realized that there was a problem with sending and receiving messages. They appeared to be hanging at about 90% when sending and would stay as "sending" even when delivered (to the other iphone I have). An incoming SMS wouldn't open, i.e., showed no content. Tried all the suggestions re resetting network settings, etc etc etc but nothing worked. I have done a complete restore of the ios and I have sent and received a SMS successfully but they are not being saved. Sent message has disappeared and incoming message is read but isn't there later, just disappears. Vanishes. I like to keep some messages to refer back to sometimes while others I am happy to delete almost immediately.
Is this a problem or is it a "feature" of ios 7?

So you are unable to access Notification Centre and Control Centre from all screens including the home screen?
You can try activating AssistiveTouch by "Settings > General > Accessibility > AssistiveTouch > AssistiveTouch: ON".
In some cases activating this feature has known to fix this issue (whilst the feature is active). I cannot think of any other immediate fixes. Hopefully Apple will address this issue soon in a forthcoming update to iOS 7.

Sorry to see the trouble you are having with messaging. One of the most basic things we want to use our phones for. Let’s see if we can get that working again. TS2755 SMS messages are being received as emails

Hello. I have an iPhone 5, and as of a couple of days ago, when I send an SMS text message to another iPhone user, the recipient receives those messages as emails. Also, if other iPhone owners send me text messages, I don't receive them.
If I send an SMS text message to someone else (someone with an Android phone, for example), they are able to receive the messages normally, and their messages come to me.
I tried having a person with an iPhone 4S send me a text message. Rather than coming through as an iMessage, the message showed up on that person's phone as a normal SMS text message.
Has anyone seen this issue, and/or had any success in resolving it?
I'm running IOS 6.1.3, and I purchased the phone about three months ago.

Messaging between Apple devices is called imessage. To correct your problem go to settings - message - send&receive - make sure your cell is the defaut. You may need to uncheck or remove the apple id.

HT4859 If the SMS messages are not a choice for the data to backup, along with things such as "camera roll" and other apps, does that mean it isn't being backed up?

Long SMS messages are being cut off-- iPhone 5 (original model), iOS 7.1.2

When I receive messages from people on different carriers, AT&T in particular, I only receive the first 160 characters. The reason I'm asking is because this is a recent problem. I had no issue receiving long texts from people before; it would either become one long message or several which were =<160 characters. Why is this happening, and what can I do? This is very frustrating.

Thank you very much for that information. Just to verify, when someone with an Android phone texts you over 160 characters you successfully receive the entire message, right? Please try deleting all iMessages or text messages from the ones you're having issues with and then see if your phone will successfully receive a long message.
