HT1296 Transferring Notes Content to new device

I just got a new imac.  I want my notes content transferred from my existing ipad to my new imac.  I have synced the notes through icloud but the content did not transfer over.  Please help.

As always...have a backup of your personal data before following any troubleshooting steps.
GrumpyGator is right. If you go to www.icloud.com through Safari and sign in with the same iCloud account, check to see if your Notes are appearing correctly there.
If the Notes are not appearing correctly: Turn off Notes on the iPad and then turn them back on
On the iPad, go to Settings > iCloud and slide Notes to Off. Choose to keep the data on the iPad if prompted. Then re-enable Notes to start a new sync up to iCloud.
If the Notes are appearing correctly: Then the issue is with the iMac retrieving the Notes data from iCloud.
On the iMac, quit all applications and go to System Preferences > iCloud. Disable Notes...then re-enable it.
Hope this helps.

There isn't a phone number for iTunes Support.
If you've forgotten your answers to your security questions then you can get them reset : If you forgot the answers to your Apple ID security questions
If you have a credit card on your account then its details have to complete - and asking for their details is also a way of checking that you have a valid billing address in that country. As long as you are buying content for yourself and not trying to gift content (you can't use your balance for gifting) then the purchase price (plus any applicable taxes) should be deducted from your balance. If it's not then you contact iTunes Support :  http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption

  • Why my contacts are not in my new device with icloud?

i changed iphone 4s for 5c, i backed up all my contacts in icloud but now in my new device i cant see them, so i dont know what im doing wrong or if i missing something.

Did you backup your 4s to iCloud and also sync your contacts to iCloud? If you synced them, you can use an internet browser and log in to https://www.icloud.com and see them there. Doing that would help you confirm whether they are in iCloud from a sync. If they are then go on your 5c to Settings > iCloud and confirm that the account is the same and that Conacts is on (green). That should bring them to the phone if you are connected to wi-fi. If not connected to wi-fi you may need to go to Settings > Cellular > Use Cellular Data For and turn Contacts on there as well.
If they aren't at https://www.icloud.com then that would indicate that they weren't synced there but that doesn't mean they weren't backed up to iCloud. There isn't a way to view the contents of an iCloud backup but if they were backed up, then they should come to the phone as part of a restore. Your post doesn't indicate whether you did a restore as part of setting up your new phone.

  • Transferring Notes & Photos to new iCloud Account?

I created a new Apple ID so that I could have a new iCloud account. Now, how do I transfer my current photos and notes to the new iCloud account?

I think I misunderstood your situation.  I thought your device was already signed into an old iCloud account and you were trying to change it to a newer one.
If your device is not signed into an iCloud account and you wish to create one, go to Settings>iCloud, sign in with your Apple ID to create your account and turn on the data you wish to sync with iCloud and choose Merge with iCloud when prompted.  If you want to use photo stream, go to Settings>iCloud>Photos and turn on My Photo Stream (also turn on Photo Sharing if you which to share your photos with others).  If you want to back up to iCloud, tap Storage & Backup and turn on iCloud Backup.  Your device will automatically back up daily when it is connected to wifi and your charger and you screen is locked (such as by connecting it to your charger when you go to bed).  You can also start a backup manually by tapping Back Up Now.  Note: this creates a device backup, it does not sync your data with iCloud.
After you enable photo stream, photos added to your camera roll will automatically be uploaded to your photo stream when you are connected to wifi, the camera app is closed, and you have at least 20% battery life remaining.  Photos that are on your device before turning on photo stream are not added to your photo stream; only new photos are.

  • Third party software for transferring music content to new laptop

Help! My laptop died and I need help finding a third party software to copy my music files and transfer them from my Iphone to my new laptop's Itunes. Apple tech support helped me set up Itunes and transfer my purchased content, but I have 1,000 songs left that I don't want to reload. I found a link to Aniosoft through searching the web, but wondered if anyone who has been in my shoes might be able to lend advice on how best to handle this.
    Thanks, Sam

That I don't understand. As cheap as backup sources have become, there's really no excuse for not backing up. We probably get two or more posts a day...they all start the same way...my computer died...my life's work is on my phone...what can I do...I have no backup...
Think about that for a minute, why on earth would you store ANY valuable data on a phone, for crying out loud, & not have any backup?

  • Can't sync iPod after transfering iTunes content to new computer.

After following these instructions very carefully http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1329 to use my iPod to transfer my iTunes content to a new computer, I cannot sync the iPod to the new computer's iTunes. I see all my music in the iTunes Library, and have authorized my new iTunes, but the music won't sync.  When I hit sync, it says it's syncing, then a few seconds later says finished syncing, but nothing is on my iPod.  Can anyone help?

Did you review if the sync settings you had established for your iPod carried over? You might have to re-select what you want ynced.
Just a thought, if you are not getting any error messages.

After you create a new partition, always verify it:
    # fdisk -l /path/to/diskOnce that confirms the new partition, you must tell the kernel to re-read the partition table. Several ways to do this, depending on what your storage connection is. This often works:
    # partprobe /path/to/mydiskThen check if the kernel sees the partition:
    # grep /proc/partitions mydiskIf it does, you are done.

  • Message attachments not restoring on new device

I just upgraded to an iPhone 6 from an iPhone 5, and everything was updated and restored as expected, except for any photos or attachments in my text messages/iMessages that aren't photos saved in my albums. I've tried backing up my iPhone 5 multiple times to try restoring to the iPhone 6, but I get the same results.
Every other upgrade I've done, the message attachments transfer without a problem.

I had checked that setting before, and it was set to "Forever". Anyway, the problem was occurring on text messaged images that I had received the same day I had backed up and restored, so I don't think it's quite related to that setting.
For now, I've moved on and I can do without retrieving all the messaged images and attachments I've received. Simply for the fact that I've already accumulated more and I want to actually use my phone and not waste more hours time troubleshooting. But, this topic can should stay active if it can help anyone else experiencing this problem.

  • Apparently, I did not backup my new device, IPhone 5 to my computer. It was my husband's IPhone that was backed up. Is there another way of retrieving my info?

I just recently did RESTORE for my IPhone 5 on my computer and lost all my info & instead have my husband's on my phone. He did a device back up on my computer with his Iphone so when I did RESTORE I lost mine & got his info instead. How can I retrieve my IPhone info?

Without a backup, you can only sync back your music and apps.

  • I have an existing iPod account and now have a new nano but my existing account will not recognise the nano. How can I get this to recognise my new device?

I have an existing account with an iPod classic device. I now have a new nano and want to add this as a secondary device. However when I connect this my account will not recognise the new device. How do I resolve this?

I have 4 iPods all utilizing iTunes on the same computer.  If you open iTunes and THEN connect the new nano, it should automatically recognize it.  Does it give you an error message?

  • Workaround--How I put old photo stream on new device

So I bought a new iPhone and turned on PhotoStream and was pretty upset that only the last 30 days worth of photo stream photos made it back to my device...  I did a lot of reading and found out that nothing was set-up wrong, it was just the way photo stream works.
Here's the skinny, for any device only the last 30 days worth of photo stream will be transfered to said device upon activation of PhotoStream--for those of us that want to have their old photo stream photo's on their new device there is a work around.
First, open iPhoto and select "iCloud" from the menu bar on the left, this will show you your photo stream. What was curious to me was that my iPhoto on my Mac Mini had 376 photos, as did my trusty old iPad, but not my brand new iPhone 5S, it only had 100 photos... This is actually how PhotoStream works though.
So to fix the disparity, and to keep from KEEPING duplicates, you need to go back to the first photo in your PhotoStream on your computer, for our purposes we'll call this photo 1 in your stream, and then highlight through the latest photo that is NOT on your new device, for me this was photo 276.
Next set-up a new folder on your desktop, and copy the missing photo's to the new folder.
Now, wait for them to copy to the desktop folder, this should take a few minutes,,,
Next, go back to iPhoto and delete the selected photos from your photo stream, a warning comes up and says this action cannot be undone, hit ok.
Then select all of the photos from the new folder, and drag them back to iPhoto, if it asks you about duplicates, hit import.
Now, wait while your photo stream re-builds ( this will likely only work for 1,000 photos or less )
Once the photo stream is correct across your devices, for me it was my Mac Mini, my iPad and my iPhone, go back to iPhoto and select the "Last Import" tab from the menu bar on the left, select all of the photos (they are dupicates) and delete them from there.
You will be left without duplicates and a rebuilt photo stream across your devices.

Set it up to use the same Apple ID as your other device, then sync your computer to it in iTunes.
