HT1296 upon syncing my ipad with my mac, the process reversed and sent pictures back to the ipad on the camera roll.  Now none can be deleted.  There is no trash showing up, only edit. Instead of the 900 pics in the photo stream, and the same in photos

I canot delete pics from my photos on ipad.  During synching process to my mac the pictures started to suddenly be downloaded back to the ipad.  I now have 900 pics in photos and the same in photo stream on the ipad.  There is no trash can, only an "edit" choice.

There are 9 different versions of iPhoto and they run on 9 different versions of the Operating System. The tricks and tips for dealing with issues vary depending on the version of iPhoto and the version of the OS. So to get help you need to give as much information as you can. Include things like:
- What version of iPhoto.
- What version of the Operating System.
- Details. As full a description of the problem as you can. For example, if you have a problem with exporting, then explain by describing how you are trying to export, and so on.
- History: Is this going on long? Has anything been installed or deleted? - Are there error messages?
- What steps have you tried already to solve the issue.
- Anything unusual about your set up? Or how you use iPhoto?
Anything else you can think of that might help someone understand the problem you have.

Connect your phone to computer, and sync like this. Check the boxes for the playlists, artists, albums you want to sync. Then click Apply. If you have enough space on your phone, you can choose Entire music library.

    Recovery Mode
    1. Disconnect the USB cable from the device, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
    2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
3.While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.
    4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen. When this screen appears, release the Home button. iTunes should alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode. Click OK, and then click Restore to restore the device.
Note: Data will be lost. You may have to repeat the above many times.

Saw this solution on another post about an iPad in a school environment. Might work on your iPad so you won't lose everything.

‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
    1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
    2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
    3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
    4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
    5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
    6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
    7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
    8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just canceling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.

Try it and good luck. You have nothing more to lose if it doesn't work for you.
     Cheers, Tom

  • Impossible to sync my iPhone with my Mac

Hi Everyone, For a couple of weeks I can't sync my iPhone with my Mac...since I'm working on Lion !!!!
It appears always this sentence :  iPhone can't be synchronized. Can't find the required folder !
Does anyone knows what can I do ?
    Thanks a lot !!
    Mistervee.

I buy all products at Apple for 15 years, I returned only a product (iPhone) was no longer guaranteed for a few days!

  • I've uploaded my pics to my PC but now I can't delete them from the iPad, the little trash can does NOT appear, PLEASE HELP I have over 6000 photos I need to delete

I've uploaded my pics to my PC but now I can't delete them from the iPad, PLEASE HELP the little trash can does NOT appear

That's because you can't delete it directly from the phone.
Since you synced not imported those pictures to your iphone using iTunes, you will need to do the opposite and unsync the pictures, in order to remove it from your phone.

  • Move from syncing iPhone 5 with a Mac to a PC

I searched and I couldn't find a definitive answer but I'd like to know before actually trying this since I've been burned in the past...
I have an iPhone 5 that was originally setup and activated via iTunes on an iMac.  I also sync'd my  music with iTunes and my pictures with iPhoto on the same iMac.  Now, I no longer have the iMac but I do have a copy of my iTunes and iPhoto libraries from that Mac and I'm moving them to a PC.  I know that iPhoto is Mac only, but if I open up iTunes, set it to use my existing library that I copied over from the old iMac, can I just connect the iPhone 5 and expect it work as it used to (minus the photo sync, obviously) with no other intervention?  Meaning I don't have to wipe the phone and restore from factory?
I know that in the old iPod days you had to pic Mac or PC and format it appropriately, but I'm guessing that this is not the case with the iPhone at v7.1, correct?
    Thanks in advance!!

Difficult, because even if the content is the same, the "ID" of the iTunes library is unique.
But somewhere I read, that putting your iTunes library on a portable HD could solve your problem, all you'll have to do is point iTunes on both computers to the location of the library in the settings, which would be the same path for the external HD in both cases.
"Tunes: Back up your iTunes library by copying to an external hard drive": http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1751
You'll have to connect the external HD before you start the desired computer/iTunes.

The music sync is one way - computer to iphone.  The only exception is itunes purchases.  File>Transfer Purchases
It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer for just such an occasion.  Use your backup copy to move everything to your new computer.

  • I sync my iphone with my mac. I now have a different folder for each pictue. There are hundreds of them. It seems to be fine in iphoto. Anyone else have this?

This just started. I sync my iphone with my mac pro. Then i delete the photo's after they have been transferred. What has just happened is on my iphone it duplicated all my events and put 1 -5 pics in a folder under the same name causing me to now have 50 folders for one event  On the iphoto side it is all good. just on the iphone.

Make sure you have the latest version of iPhoto. Run Software Update.

  • I synced my phone with iCloud for the first time and it put ALL of my husband's contacts on my phone. How to I take contacts off my iphone and reinstall only mine?

I have archived my contacts on my computer and can reinstall only those, but I can't figure out how to wipe all of his contacts off my iphone.

    You don't.
You synced your iPhone with iTunes for the first time after how long?
And this didn't happen by syncing only. This means you transferred the backup for another iPhone or you restored the iPhone with iTunes. It is not possible for everything to be lost by syncing alone. All iTunes content on your iPhone can be lost but not any photos in the Camera Roll and the same for contacts unless you synced contacts with an empty address book application on your computer.

If it's not too late, see Recovering your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device. As long as you have a backup of the device when the device still held your photos you should stand a chance of recovering them using a tool such as iPhone Backup Extractor.

  • Sync with both Mac os 10.4 AND Windows XP at the same time?

After much research AND much frustration with my Moto Q... I have decided on a Palm Centro (the prodical is returning home --- i used to use Palm all the time)
Here is my one question... I use Outlook on my computer at work (XP - office suite) and I can use Palm Desktop (or iCal) on my Mac at home (10.4)
Is it possible to setup the palm to sync with outlook at work and either iCal or Palm Desktop at home so that the same calendar, tasks, contacts, are on work comp, home comp and Centro at the same time? will i make something blow up? I am just trying to get prepped for when I am able to get the centro (8 days and counting).
If nothing else... I haven't been syncing to the Mac at home with the Moto Q and so I am really not 'out' anything... just wanted to know if it could be done?
    anyone out there doing this?
    Post relates to: Centro (Verizon)

yeah... i was thinking Cabled sync. I just want to be able to make changes at work on outlook, sync them with my centro, take my centro home, and sync it with my mac (using palm desktop OR iCal -- suggestions?!) and have the information the same in both places!
I am wondering if the centro, unlike my iPod, will allow me to sync in two places (not at the same time) and possibly even with different software (outlook and palm)
    Thanks!
